Most people, especially here in Queensland pronounce the word "maroon" as "ma-rone" the correct literal pronunciation however is "Mar-une" according to the Macquarie Dictionary. So colloquially you can say the team are called "The Marones" (which I personally dislike and will continue to use "Mar-oon" and have all my fellow Queenslander looking at me sideways)
Not allowed to tackle above the shoulders, but in the State of Origin they let things slide a lot more to keep the game flowing, unless it’s really serious
So yeah the NRLW Grand Final is the same Day/Weekend of the Men's Grand Final. The women's do their state of origin before their season instead of the men's where they do it during the season.
The highlights are bit weird on this. Still a great game though. Cant wait for game 3. The refs usually let a bit more go in Origin Games, the players and fans love it.
