  • Capt. John Ledingham (IRL) jumped/rode, Kilcoltrim (ISH) to win the 1989 CSIO 5* Dublin Horse Show Puissance.
    Height: 2.15 metres (7 foot, 1 inch).
I think! This horse is related on his Dam line to MHS Going Global !
Kilcoltrim & Capt. (later; Commandant) John, jumped for Ireland at the 1988 Olympics out in Seoul.
My Grandfather knew Jimmy Whitty in the 1980's.
Kilcoltrim, was by a bay/brown Thoroughbred (xx) stallion called " Bahrain ". Who Paddy Byrne of Park House Stud, Co. Carlow stood.
"Bahrain" also sired another top class Irish bred show jumping horse "Warrenpoint" owned by John Roberts. Who jumped Warrenpoint up to Grade B and then gave the ride to Michael Whitaker. Michael Whitaker helped GBR to claim a World Championships Team Silver Medal at Aachen in 1986.
    Warrenpoint (ISH)
U.S.A. won the Team Gold in '86 and that American Team included a grey, gelding, called "Amadia (ISH)" that (I think!) Paddy Quinlan jumped/rode Amadia as a Novice jumper and Amadia (by Amazon TB, Dam: an ISH or part I.D.) never had a pole down, in one season as a Novice. (source: 100 Great Irish Sporting Horses - book ).
Amadia's dam or Grand dam was an Irish Draught mare.
Kilcoltrim bred by James Whitty and Catherine Whitty.
Kilcoltrim by Bahrain (xx) - Kilcoltrim's Dam: by Ozmandias (xx), who was the sire of Ryan's Son & Heatwave.
Kilcoltrim's Grand dam: an Irish Draught mare
Bahrain also sired a Great jumper: Chainbridge (ISH), a grey, gelding, Malcom Pyrah & Mike Saywell jumping Internationally for GBR.
Chainbridge was out of a grey Irish Draught mare.
