- Hi Guys, Well I badly felt the need to make a kit, just wanted to glue some plastic together, so thought it was a good idea to build the most popular fighter as voted by you guys. This was an easy build it is a simple kit, so good for beginners for sure, and I really enjoyed the painting and weathering process. Thanks as always for taking the time to watch, I hope you enjoy the video. Cheers, Glen

Good build and nice paint.
I'm sure the non-authentic paint job will work a lot of the pro plane guys up into a lather, but if you had fun building and painting it, that's all that matters.
Do you have the aircraft bug now? Any plans to do more planes? Nice video thanks for sharing.
Thank you my friend, well no abuse so far, but it's early days yet 😛 I am getting the bug, but consicence of my skills so need to practice a lot more on the 1/72 kits, i have the Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire MK1 which i would like to try to do a pro job on, perhaps next year sometime 👍
My absolute favourite plane!!!! Well done!
Thank you, its a rugged looking fighter 👍
Nice job, Glen. You’ve built the USMC’s Corsair of VMA-323 Death Rattlers in Korea. Provided close air support for Marines on the ground for major engagements at Pusan, Inchon and the Chosin Reservoir. Returned flying F-4 Phantoms from land bases in Vietnam. The Marines in the air take care of their buddies on the ground. Always have: always will; still are.
Thanks Lazza, thats really halepful as i had no idea what i was doing, other than i knew it was Marines, just wasnt sure if it was late WW2 or Korean war 👍
Very cool Glenn. Got away from aircraft as a kid when I found monograms m4 Sherman and panzer VI.
Thanks Clay, yeah I am much the same, used to make heaps of Airfix planes as a kid, then climb onto the shed roof, and see how they would fly, that never worked, but after enough failed attempts i would then get the matches out and fill the plane with match heads, ignition and hurl the flaming plane into the blue younder, only once did i set the shed on fire, the old man wasnt overy impressed with me that day 😇😇😇
Woo Hoo the snap shot on the bulletin board !
Lol, that is Miss December of 1992, she features in the build of the interior of the ASLAV, you get a much better look at her in that video: czcams.com/video/jGzgzcdOydw/video.html
Good!
Thank you! Cheers!
Lovely result! Great looking plane, the Corsair. I don't think the blue was far off by the time you'd finished! Top job. 👍
Many thanks Andrew, I think i got it fairly close, but when you weather something like a tank you can hide a lot of sins 😆😆😆
@@HalidonDioramas The two things that put me off aircraft are the diorama limitations, and the fact you can't slather them with mud and dust to cover the cock ups! "Poor quality Soviet welding..." I've made good use of that before now! 🤣
Great plane , Great build thanks Glen **
Thanks Stuart, i really came to like the plane, have it on the list to revisit in 1/48th some time in the future. Cheers 👍
Hi Glen, you could not have picked a more iconic fighter, the F4 Corsair is one of my favourite aircraft/fighters, take care and keep safe, best regards from a Kiwi living in Melbourne.
Thanks Les, yes I totally agree its a great fighter, really gutsy looking. Kia ora,I thought all Kiwis were living in melbourne cuz 😛😛😛
@@HalidonDioramas hi cuz, where abouts are you based? I'm just being a bit nosey, there ard some of us here there and everywhere.
@@lesthiele4921 Im in Melbourne, the only place to live in Australia, if you discount Queensland and Perth of course :)
@@HalidonDioramas For all we both know we could be neighbours, I am in Thornbury, take care mate.
Having built mostly aircraft, I thought the kit was a bit of a strange one. I like the final result, the weathering's very good.
And well done for providing a translation of aluminium for the Americans, they get very confused when presented with the correct word.
Many thanks Ian, kit was strange, very little actual construction required, so my itch for gluing plastic together has not been satisfied, but i am satisfied with the final result, its a tough looking plane, reminds me of a muscle car for some reason. I exchange emails with a number of american friends, they often dont understand me, but the Australian version of english is fairly different 😛
@@HalidonDioramas I agree, the Corsair does have the no-nonsense air of a muscle car.
Glen that looks good marra ! Regards Gav.
Thanks Gav, pretty happy with the end result 👍
Oh boy, I'm starting my day with a new Halidonian video. You made my day. Love your work and videos and all the word you put into both of them. Quite a bit of fun. Cheers mate
Thanks Michael, I'm glad to hear I made your day, clearly one of the rare days that you havent brought dozens of kits then 😛 Appreciate the feedback mate, take care 👍
