- In today’s vlog we hang out at home while we get ready for our upcoming cruise! We start by finishing Jackson’s Disney Cars themed Halloween costume! His Jackson Storm costume turned out AMAZING! We also ran some errands before our departure day and made a fun Target run where we checked out some Halloween stuff! Our night ended with Jackson not feeling well, we're so happy he's feeling fine now but it's always tough to see your kids sick, so it was a rough night for sure. I love you all and I’m so glad you’re back! As a former daycare owner though, PLEASE keep the kids home if they’ve been sick. The rule is 24 hours since the last puke, even if you think it’s just food poisoning. Norovirus sweeps through daycares/schools like absolute wildfire and sadly, kids and the elderly are at most risk for complications. I hope this is taken as well-meaning, Im not telling anyone how to parent!

Yes THIS!!! I know so many parents do it unintentionally, but being a primary teacher, if my son has had diarrhea, vomit or even a low fever…. He stays home until 24 hours since it last occurred. Sickness in schools is CRAZY, how quickly it spreads.
In the uk hospitals we recommend 48 hours clear.

I was about to write the same thing. In Australia it is 24-48hrs after the last vomit or diarrhoea to minimise risk of spread. Hard to know for sure if it’s food poisoning or a virus without testing.

children should be off for 24-48 hours after the last time they vomit. He shouldn't have been sent into school just incase it was a bug that he could have spread to other children and staff.
I could watch Oliver all day long! He is adorable and has so many expressions and is doing so much now. Happy baby!
When Jenn said remember when we used to come to Target and try on costumes? And then immediately cut to her trying on a costume in the aisle, I was laughing so much. Perfect editing, 10/10 no notes. I totally remember those videos though, so classic. Glad you’re back!
Puking - it’s rarely ever, ever the last thing you ate - it’s a virus. Ohh the joys of having a kiddo in school / daycare 🙃

I was thinking the same and sadly sending him back was certainly not a good idea so soon.
For Jackson’s post school debrief, try asking him specific questions instead of the general question: who did you sit next to in lunch? Did you sing any songs today? Did you find anything fun on the play ground? Did anything funny happen today? (Etc.) that approach helped with my daughter when she was that age and I still do it with her

I used to do that but I think they are so topped out after a day at school that they have a hard time answering questions and remembering but now we literally sat our pleasantries and then if she wants to tell me stuff, cool, if not we just listen to music or talk about other stuff. It all usually comes out after we get home and she’s had a snack and time to decompress lol
Meh. I’ve never met a kid who likes the post mortem on school!!! I know I would hate playing 20 questions every single day after a long day of learning. Just ask one or two general questions and if they don’t want to answer tell them how much you appreciate your little talks about what’s happening at school. Then just let the child relax! We normally just have a family round table at dinner time. Everyone shares something fun or something on their mind - it’s less like interrogation central.
Yes that really used to annoy me, even as a young boy I remember that! Every single bloody day, how was school, what did you do? THE SAME DAMN THING I DO EVERY DAY lol
Agreed… you can spoil your child… I’m so glad to hear both of you say that and not worry about the naysayers who may comment otherwise. I “spoiled” my child (like the same way… a small toy, something that made them smile, not huge items. My child turned out to be a compassionate, sweet, caring, confident young adult, who I am extremely proud of… you’re good parents! ❤❤❤
There's a big difference between spoiling a kid and not teaching them sympathy/ empathy and humility and spoiling a kid and TEACHING them. You guys are doing amazingly. Spoil those sweetpeas rotten! Because you are teaching them to be good humans. ❤ Ours is spoiled with an excellent heart. Same reasons... want them to have the things we didn't have. Big props to good parents. 🎉

I agree with you tim its nice to treat them it's not spoiling them I did the same with my daughter when she was young she loved hot wheels to every Friday I would get her a new one for having a great week at school I loved seeing her face when she got them full of smiles 😊 made her week and made mine to 😊😊 cant wait to see your cruise vlogs
Instead of asking my kids what they did at school I ask them to tell me one good thing about their day. This usually leads to a lengthy conversation about all the great things they did at school. ❤️
How many cars are you bringing on the cruise? “Ooo all of my cars. Like my dodge challenger and everything”. I think I replayed that 10 times. He is so cute and excited. 😂😂😂
My son is 18 years old now and ever since he was two years was obsessed with hot wheels! We would buy him one ever time we were at the grocery store so I totally understand. It was fun to see how excited he would get over the cars and it was really inexpensive. Now to this day, he still points out cars on the road and tells me what they are. And we also have every single car in a under-the-bed plastic container. We love to look at them and remembering how very special that time in his life was. I hope one day he can pass them on to his children.

My son was just like Jackson, obsessed with Hot Wheels and carried them everywhere we went. He knew every car on the road. At last count, we had over 1000 hot wheels…he’s 17 now, still loves cars and turned out just fine! We loved hunting for hot wheels just as much as he loved getting them! Enjoy it!

I bought my little guy lots of hot wheels and I understand how it’s enjoyable for the parents to hunt down certain hot wheels to see their faces light up! As an adult he turned out fine actually quite the saver!

I Bought my boys a hot wheels when we would go to the store for being good while we we're there. Don't worry about what people say. Like Tim said , he wanted his boys to have things he didn't. I feel the same way. Have fun❤❤❤❤. Hope you feel better soon Tim
It's good for their self esteem to let kids just be happy. I used to have money and spoil my kid and he was happier then than now where we struggle.
My son had a few hundred hot wheels when he was younger. He was always so happy to get a new one.

So sorry Jackson had to go through that...but having been there with mine who are young adults now...that kind of upset isnt food poisoning...tummy virus. And they will bring it home repeatedly...no way to avoid it. The 24 hour rule kept us home many times...

It’s great to see my favorite family is back! Tim it is absolutely okay to give your kids the things and experiences you didn’t have growing up, I did the same with my daughter. I hope you guys had a great cruise! Take care Tim, I hope you recover soon! I remember awhile back your were talking about Oliver not sleeping well at night. If he naps so much during the day it really can mess up his night sleep cycle to where his body gets his nights and days confused. My daughter did the same thing. Our babysitter was letting her sleep so so much during the day. As soon as we figured this out, we only gave her a large nap mid day (she was 7 mos. Old) and starting sleeping all night long. From about 8:30pm until 6am.

12:08 literally every day my 3 year-old son has zero memory of what he did at school moments after we walk out of the classroom 😂 saw a meme recently that was like “when I ask my kid what they did at school” and it was Gandalf when he goes, “I have no memory of this place” (had to see it but it was super spot on haha)

One of my Mom’s favorite things to do on a Cruise, other than the Fine Dining at night, was to go to Afternoon Tea ! Everyday at 3pm ( on Princess ) It became one of my favorites as well 😎👍🫖
JENN, (dont mean to yell, just want you to see this), the cooking time may have less to do with your stove and more to do with your elevation. Changes in elevation lends to a difference in time and temperature needed to do a thing. The instructions were written with the average USA elevation in mind. (Think Indiana, Tennessee, or Ohio.) Florida is closer to sea level, and with increased pressure comes decreased cooking time and temps, if I recall correctly. 😊 love Tracker vids!

My parents gave my sister and I Fashion dolls for good behavior and grades so I see nothing wrong with it. What I would like to caution you about is saying that it's "when he's good". Words have a different meaning for little kids and if he doesn't earn a car he might feel like mommy and daddy think I'm bad versus mommy and daddy didn't like my behavior. Saying that he didn't listen well or had a hard time following directions lets him know that it was the behavior that you didn't like and not him. Just my two cents as an ex early childhood professional of 20 years but I have to say that y'all are some of the BEST parents I've had the pleasure of witnessing and your boys are going to grow into good people!
My husband and I are dressing as Vikings. We dress every year to pass out candy. The neighborhood kids love it. They are usually homemade, but a few years we have bought them.
Don't worry about what other people say. Jackson and Oliver are your sons and you need to raise them as you see fit. Love you guys and your videos!

I got Covid after our Disney Fantasy cruise in May. They are absolute cesspools. And also my favorite way to vacation.

I love Jackson's costume and your new vehicle. Love that Jackson love Challengers, my youngest son traded his in for a ram truck. He loved the sportscar but needed a truck. He is doing so well at 24 and I am so proud of him. My oldest son made me a grandma and my granddaughter turns 4 this month on the 14th and watching Jackson lets me know where she is in learning. She goes to preschool also and loves it. My middle son, is getting ready to leave on deployment in the Navy. Parenting is never easy but if you keep them on a schedule helps and just keep loving on them. I hope you had a blast on your cruise. I am going to be in Israel next week.
Hello! Glad you had time off and a good cruise. Bummer that Covid found Tim, but glad everyone else is doing well. It finally found me after 3.5 years at the beginning of August. We were lucky too and my kids and husband didn't get it.

ok weird thing though: My kid used to barf often after those pouches. I think maybe because they eat them super fast sometimes as well. no idea! But also the pouches can just be in the pantry.

We decided to do the uppa baby minu with the car seat and bassinet adapter. We love it and has been so easy for travel and just daily use, especially if I am by myself.
I totally get it with the Hot wheels thing. Our son was totally into all of the cars from 'Cars' and wanted all kinds of cars from it. That then turned into US wanting to collect all of these different characters that were rare, etc.

My son is in grade 3 and still says “I dunno” unless I ask more specific questions. Who did you play with a recess? What stories did you read? What made you happy? Did anything bother or upset you today? What are you learning in STEM? Otherwise it’s too much for them to filter through.

My daughter has collected lots of things over the years ( she's 7 now) we are into Disney dorables and I'm as obsessed with them as she is. I spoil my kiddo for the same reasons I didn't have all the experiences and things as a kid and It brings me so much joy to make her dreams come true

Pleased Tim is doing OK, and I can't wait for the new vlogs . We also did the same with hotwheels cars my boys would get one for being good at school and when we went on holiday they got one everyday if they were good, I don't see an issue with this at all its up to you as parents how you want to bring them up and we also wanted to give our boys everything we didn't have, it was also very fun playing with them all with the boys to only thing now is we have a tub of over 400 hotwheel cars and the boys are 14 and 16 and no longer play with them ( we will save them as you never know when you might want them again lol .thanks for the vloga.
