Atlanta-based "The Original Hot Dog Factory" made it to Philly. Does it live up to the hype?

- In this episode I was excited to take a ride to Philadelphia to try out The Original Hot Dog Factory which has been making a lot of noise nationwide due to the place being seen on Real Housewives of Atlanta. Owned by Dennis Mckinley who is engaged to Porsha Williams has been seen working a shift in an episode. This mainly comes come down to the food so I ordered the surf n turf dog, philly dog, jamaican jerk chicken hot dog and the lemon pepper wings. I must admit the hot dogs itself were very flavorful and delicious. I thought the toppings of crab, lettuce and tomato didnt stand out in the surf and turf. The philly dog could have just used cheese whiz. My favorite however was the jerk chicken hot dog. I'd suggest just to order a plain dog and top it off yourself. Lastly were the lemon pepper wings. These wings were actually the highlight out of everthing I ordered. I'd say I would definitely come back for the wings more than anything. They were addictive to eat.

Yeah, I think we all can tell he didn't really like the hot dogs, it always throws you off and lower your expectations when the food is overpriced from the jump and the taste of it didn't blow him away. I wish nothing but success for all black owned businesses but a hot dog joint in the middle of Center City don't look like a successful Enterprise.

That's what I'm talking about! I would go frolicking only once to see how they made them, after that I make my own, with the money he sent I could buy 3 pk. Of good brand hotdogs with rolls and two bags of wings and still be able to buy beer!

Mom's is from NY. She took us all the way to NY just to show us what Real Hot Dogs were like.😂
You seen how much a sandwich is at Katz's?! When I was a kid we would go downtown cause my dad loved the Pastrami and me and my brother would share a Turkey. It was like $7-8 back in the 90's. I lived on Ludlow, mere steps away from Katz's in the mid 00's. The Turkey was like $14 then, now it's up to like $22. Insane!!
I grew up on Ludlow St back in the 1950's 176 Ludlow St
Can't forget about Grays 50 cent hot dogs with the papaya juice to wash them down

All of the Hot Dogs looked really good to me. But @ 9:58 I noticed about 5 little hairs on that flat wing. And I must say that during all of the time I have watched your videos this was the first time I noticed some hairs . Nope! They must work on that for the money you paid for your meal.

How can you even tell just by looking at them?
Mohammad Hussain oil keeps particles from every prior fry. The more use the more particles. These particles deposit on whatever you’re frying. They are burning since they are being cooked over and over. You can skim the oil to try and remove them, but only to an extent. Over time you will get a dark coating and a bad taste from all the burnt particles.

About 40 min from Philly & an hour from Ocean City NJ. The owner is from Italy, his wife is Italian & This is authentic food! Family friendly casual affordable-*****fresh food. Been going here since I was a kid after sports games and for takeout at least once a week. That’s all I have for now. Born in philly from south jersey. Not currently residing there but I come back when I can!

Chicago Superdog is by far most the best you can get, or just drive to New York and get the second best a Papaya hotdog. But send that wrinkled over cooked hot mess back to Atlanta.

#JL you should check out the fresh works in South Philly located at 21st and Wharton in Point Breeze on the little Island there. Just opened not too long ago. They make some delicious steak sandwiches, My go to is the thrombus steak with fried onions, salt pepper and ketchup on a toasted bun. Just remember to ask for your condiments to be on top of the meat instead of on the bottom as it makes the roll soggy

I refuse to spend $ on a hot dog. We had the best lil stand in my hometown, nothing compares. I like mine best over an open fire, no bun, no toppings. Now that chicken sausage looks madd good! Philly safer these days? Flatters🙌🏻

Very informative vid. If they open a location near me, I now know to pass on this place. Looking over the prices, they are very expensive for hot dog place. They do have a variety of dogs, but very inexpenisve to me. not quite price gouging like at the ballpark, but pretty close. $8.99 for that Surf and Turf dog he was dissapointed with.
