Weakest would be good if you had rangers as your main damage. If you have something like a minigunner on weakest, rangers would be less likely to waste their damage on low health enemies.

If your defense is at the middle of the map and you have a engineer set it to random at the very start of the map the Century will also do random it makes it so everything gets good damage
Commander should give the ability to change the way of the targeting for example: Hidden: Strongest Flying: Farthest Lead: Closest And there should be things like targeting: Boss (If no Boss in game then Automatically Strongest) and so.
the last is good for swarmer beacause the other towers would've killed the first line of zombies by the time that the swarmer damages the first line so its more useful for swarmer to attack the last

Actually weakest targetting is good since every time I solo with cowboy or sledg I'd get it to 500 or 200 health which then kills me since I can't attack anything else and so just attacking molten boss
Little life hack that I use and learned on my own: once mystery bosses start to appear place a few high level towers at the start all with “target weakest” as their target settings, this will pop all of them and avoid having a speedy boss appear right at the end of your base

exactly. rapid-fire towers can take advantage of their firerate. a "weakest" targeting in TDS would be more helpful than in Bloons because A: there are few piercing or explosive attacks in TDS and B: a lot of towers shoot slower than towers in Bloons. The lack of piercing in TDS would mean that "cleanup" towers could actually fulfill their job/fulfill their job better

Accel targets the first enemy and then only will lock off when the enemy is dead out of range or the accelerator got stunned
