- Legendary singer Engelbert Humperdinck used to enjoy golf and riding his motorcycle. But his wife Patricia Healey's Alzheimer's diagnosis has drastically altered his life. "I was a pretty outgoing person prior to the obstacles that we have, but now I spend most of my time at home with her," he told InsideEdition.com," The situation also affects his performances, sometimes reducing him to tears, but as he admits, "I don't think to see a big man cry is a bad thing." #InsideEdition
Incredible to hear a man of such accomplishment say that at age 81 he still doesn't know the kind of man he wants to be. Very humble.
I love this man and his music. His devotion to his wife is exceptional. A man of character, honor and integrity.
It's a shame he wasn't back in the day with all his affairs, where was his devotion honor and integrity to his wife then, but i guess if she can forgive then so canhis fans.Why is it when they reach stardom they can't keep it in their pants!

My last husband passed away due to Alzheimer’s. It’s very hard to deal with but when you love someone it’s what you’re supposed to do.

He was a part of my life in my youth and during my turmoils. It's 2020 now and not sure where or how he is. But I play his music often even still. God bless him always.

I'm a Caregiver so I can understand why Engelbert tears up easily. Your a wonderful man sir. When you took your vows "in sickness and health" you went to the next level. My Mom cared for my Dad,who had Dementia and other health issues. He got to live out his life at home. We lost him 4 months ago 20 days shy of his 89th birthday. Blessings from Canada. 🇨🇦🙏🌹

Engel had to overcome many obstacles, challenges and adversity to make it to the top. Now that his wife has alzheimers its even the highest mountain he'll ever climb. I'm sure with all the great events of his life he has been blessed with the right tools to handle this situation. This doesn't hurt him , its just another challenge that he will face with love,devotion and compassion.

It is awsome listening to Englebert explaning his side of the prayer. It is indeed a moving spirit that help people to keep on praying because prayer can work wonders for the human need. Life is a beautiful gift, but we never know when sadness will overtake the joy. Pray for all Alzheimer victims, as there is no cure at this time, so we need prayers and contributions in order for a treatment or cure to be found.

Karen, we just lost our beloved mother to Alzheimer last March 2019. She was 2 months shy of her 93rd birthday. Most people said she lived a long and full life, but it didn't matter. The pain of the loss is still devastating. I am 62 years old, and I was thankful to GOD I had a mother for that length of time. Yet, it does hit me that from now on until I die, I won't have a mother. I will always miss Mama.

Yes,he did,but she stayed with him,and now that she is ill,he is being as attentive as he possibly can. He hasnt dumped her because of the hardship. He loves her dearly and it shows now when she needs him the most.

My Mother died of Alzheimer's. She couldnt remember to breathe,and in the end,she got pneumonia and died. Broke my heart even though she was so cruel to me when I was a child. She was a beautiful singer,and just stunning to look at.It was a shame she had to die that way.

THE POWER OF PRAYER, I agree. I had an Egyptian friend that had literally the face of an Easter statue: Hanna Hanna. He was completing his masters in chemistry at the University of Ottawa where I graduated several times. In one of his compulsory courses that he needed to pass in order to get his degree, the first time the professor set his eyes on him he said to his face: I'M GOING TO FAIL YOU. So what did he do? He attended his classes, but he ALSO joined an Orthodox prayer group that met every Saturday at the University Centre on the 2nd floor: I was working at the University Centre on weekends as a security guard. I noticed he "never" missed a prayer session. There were just a little more than a handful of university who got to gather to pray. WELL! What happened his professor unknowingly gave him ONE MARK TOO MUCH that allowed him to pass the course. However, THE STORY DOES NOT END THERE. His professor went to the department heads and said you cannot pass this guy. But there was nothing they could do. So, my friend, Hanna Hanna, an Orthodox Coptic Christian, graduated with his Masters degree in chemistry ALL THANKS TO THE POWER OF PRAYER. (Ha! Ha!) Ken, Toronto, CANADA
