Hi guys! Let's revolutionise fabric scrap busting once and for all!
This is what I do when I just need to sew with no project in mind. It’s really quite relaxing and as the scrap pile goes down it makes me feel more organized 😂
Exactly! The relaxation factor alone is worth it!
I also do this with a roll of paper cashier tape and I believe it was about 3 in?
You can pick whichever width you want, whatever works for you!@@Quiltaholic10
Do you have the sweetest voice! I'm 77 years old so I can tell you that 😅. This is awesome idea. I've watched 3 of your videos in a row and saved them when ever I have time to make them
Thank you for sharing. Your cat and dog patterns are so precious. I'm making baby blankets with those last two. ❤
Hi Connie, thank you 😊 When you make them, let me know how it went! Have a great week!
Great idea! I love how you explained using a 2.5” strip to cover all the seams of the scrap pieces which will make it easier to sew into a project! ❤
Love this!
I am in the middle of reorganising my sewing room cupboards. Oh my goodness, I didn't realise how much scrap fabric I have!! Years of accumulation!!! Your 'scrapy jelly roll' is a great idea. Once I can find the sewing machine again 😵💫 It's covered with cupboard things!! I will get organised and start making some.
Yeah, like with every reorganization it gets bad before ot gets better. Good luck!!!
I have made these both with fabric and paper on my recycled receipts from the store. I just glue them together to make one long roll off paper receipts, and then I use them for the different projects. It is recycling ♻️ all the way😊
love that! 😀
Wow! That looks fabulous! I’ve been on a journey of cutting and organizing my scraps. 10 years of them!!! It’s so satisfying. This is a great idea. I have to give it a try. Thanks for sharing.
That's awesome! Give it a try and let me know 😁
Ya I need to do this! I’d love to see you make a quilt top with these strips! It will give me ideas!!
It's definitely on my to-do list 😁
Great idea for using scraps when you're not sure of exactly what you want to make. I will definitely try this! Thanks!
let me know how it goes 😀
I love this so much! Thank you!
I love scraps tyvm.
I like this idea how to sew them together
Great idea!
I’ve just done this, and actually made a strip nearly 10 metres long! Made it 2” wide, but wish now that I’d made it 2.5”. Also wish I’d sewn it to strips of fabric, like you did - such a great idea! Thank you! Deb x 🤗
That's so cool, we're in synch! Next time, try this method out and let me know what you think. 10 meters, wow, there's so much potential right there, love it 🥰
Aw, thanks! I’ve made it to make this quilt:

I’ve started making the blocks, and they’re gorgeous! Deb x
They are! Looks like a lot of fun 😁
Great idea👍
I sew my scraps to used dryer sheets. It makes alovely crumb quilt, mug rugs, coaters, hotpads, and more. Lol
Never tried dryer sheets, thank you for the tip 😁
Excellent idea. Thank you ❤
I cut my batting scrapes into 5” squares and sew scraps on them for a scrappy quilt but 2 1/2” strips would be so neat to make ! Thank you 😊
Watching this makes me want to jump off the couch and run upstairs and do this!! What a great idea!
Well, my work here is done then hehehhe. Give it a try and let me know what you think 😁
Very Cute Idea. Thank You
Wow, very resourceful 😍😍
Love this! I’ll probably go with 3 inches wide so I can trim to 3 or 2.5 inches. I could see making a Jelly Roll race once you have 40 of them.
A Jelly roll race sounds awesome 😁
I sew my small scraps on to the rolls of fine paper used in cash registers which i got on amazon. It's soooooo relaxing. I love all your videos. Keep up the good work x
Thank you! I've seen people do that and I actually have loads of cash register rolls because I owned a shop way back when but I tried sewing using the paper it felt weird and noisy hehehhe
Thank you....i used to make them on paper rolls but on the strip it is much more flexibel... i greet you from The Netherlands
Hi. How's the weather in The Netherlands? 😄
Great idea to use fabric instead of paper! New subbie 😊
Welcome! 😄
I love this idea….wouldnt this look awesome sewn down the middle of your quilt back
Yes! Absolutely! 😁
1st time here and I love this 💗
Welcome! 😁
I love this idea! I just found your channel and subscribed ❤

TRIM Salvage off because it shrinks at a different rate.

I love scrap projects but I never take the time to work with them. So many quilts, so little time!
I know! That's my problem too. This helps though, when I have some time on my hands I just create these rolls and then I just use them whenever I want a scrappy look.
I have done this but now don't know what to do with them. Help
Hi! Anything you would use a jelly roll for you can use this. It also makes for an awesome frame and bias tape 😁
Sorry if I missed it but what were you piecing/sewing the scraps on to?
Hi. I'm using white sheet fabric, the most inexpensive one I can find.
