if you're taking civics here's some answers to some questions i've been asked:
    1. "While watching the video, note what the following public figures have to say about the Declaration of Independence?"
*Aaron Storkin:* Sorkin highly praises the Declaration, claiming it is “one of the best pieces of writing” he’s ever seen. (0:09)
*Richard Slotkin:* Slotkin also praises the work, saying "...it is a revolutionary piece of writing for a revolutionary statement." (0:13)
*Tom Brokaw:* Brokaw seems to have gotten emotional at some point over the Declaration of Independence, having said that "you cannot help but be stirred when you read those words.” (0:15)
*Colin L. Powell:* Powell seems as moved by the piece, commenting that they are “beautiful words." Jefferson must of had some wonderful penmanship for this to be the case. (1:02)
    2. "What were the two options that divided the Second Continental Congress?"
(1:59) "Are they fighting for their rights as Englishmen within the British Empire, or are they going to fight for independence?”

It is wrong of them not to fully realise their promise of equality with slaves, but it's also important to know that Jefferson, in spite of owning slaves himself, apparently wasn't fond of the system of slavery, and, in fact, in one draft of the Declaration of Independence, one of the indictments of against King George is that he forced slavery on the colonies. Needless to say, the southern states wouldn't have agreed to this, so it was voted out.
I'm saying that it was the right thing, but I also see it as a promise of something that one day might be realized. It's important to know the whole story.

I know I hear you it's depressing. But the most important thing is like let's be honest how many of us people today learned anything about what our declaration of independence not just stands for but where they came up them ideas that time, when Tomas jefferson, george Washington, James Madison, and all them other people that time of what they wrote. Sure I may not know everything about our history, but I do have a good idea 1 they had common sense about rights and freedoms they understood God is our creator and understood freedom is the gift from God. Plus what I been researching and understand of that they been there and seen how other countries kings/ queens that time controlled and dictated their own people. So naturally our founders didn't want that in America plus they also understood the bible. Which makes sense why they created the government to be "of the people, by the people, for the people" and created a document of "we the people controls the government" but how many people today knows anything about our true history plus the bible these days? Not many. Nowadays just been teaching about the historical of the past of slavery, instead of teaching them the historical of meaning of liberty and freedom instead, but not to surrender it. Nowadays it's the opposite of most of them. Sorry for a long reply just explaining my thoughts and opinions ☺.

America, the abundant, the place I was born

Where the bones of past heroes lie buried in the ground
Who loved her the same as I.
Her mountains are so tall they reach for the sky
With prairies where the green grasses grow.
There's billions of trees where wild birds nest
    With creatures that flourish below.
That blue gold called water with which we are blessed
    As raindrops or crystallized snow
Changes to rivers and fresh water lakes
While the winds of our seasons blow.
Some cities have buildings a hundred stories tall
Structures of concrete, glass and steel.
A statue in a harbor, a present from France
    Describes how inside, we feel.
That flag on the moon with red and white stripes
    Proves America’s dreams come true.
A country of heroes who line up to protect
The past, the present and few.
We can’t foresee what the future may bring
Though we give it our best not to fail.

"That all men are created equal" means all men are created and when we were created we were all made equal, but we can't create absolute equality, it is not our job to make all absolute equal because we can't do that, but to attempt it, there are always people that prevent that. Want proof? look at the next statement, that they are endowed by their creator, with certain unalienable rights, the unalienable rights are what made us as equal as we are, but it other countries those are taken away, and that is against God, the creator part of the Declaration of Independence proves we are a nation under God. Meaning though people don't know it they believe in christian beliefs, proving the whole thing true.

It says creator not God, so it can be any god from any possible religion, and it is evident that is done purposely, as the first amendment is the right to freedom of religion, so they clearly meant to seperate the country from any specific religion, regardless of whichever one they personally believed or which was popular at the time. So no, America was not meant to be a Christian nation, and saying that goes against the whole point of it's core values and philosophy, which were specifically secular, even though other aspects of the country might have resembled that of the dominant religion at the time and place, which happened to be that version of Christianity at that specific time period

They need to say the Declaration of Independence was written for European immigrants and their “non-compromised” descendants living in America. Non-compromised meaning not of mixed race heritage. The Declaration of Independence was not written for men/mankind as a whole. Heck! Was it even written for women?! 🙄
