Interview: Nameless Ghoul of Ghost at Reading Festival

- RAMzine spoke to a Nameless Ghoul at Reading Festival 2015, prior to the bands headline set on 'The Pit' stage.
‘Meliora’ is the 3rd album to be released by the band. The album has stormed charts across the globe having gone straight to number 1 in both Sweden and Finland, and landing at Number 8 in the USA, and top 25 in the UK. We find out how this Nameless Ghoul feels about the reception of the album, as well as some general chit chat.
Ghost put on a show unlike any other band of this time, their experience shows, and the new album is quickly proving that Ghost are one of the biggest metal bands of this year.

Charisma O from what I’ve heard he was gonna be kicked out so he quit instead but someone more knowledgeable can chime in and correct me if I’m wrong. He’s back leading a reconstituted Magna Carta Cartel now.

I saw the 2 bands live in a festival some months ago. It was great!

Its called "Hell & Heaven Fest" in Mexico city. I will never forget that day. I saw several of my favorite bands in one day. Ghost and Rammstein the best of course. Specially Rammstein's amazing live show.
Oh, gee, I thought it was somewhere in Europe and couldn't think of a single festival the two bands played together last summer. I saw the Rammboys 3 times myself. And I'm gonna see Ghost for the first time this April. But I wish I could have the two together... I can imagine how insane this was for you! I know Rammstein adore latinos and they always give all to them.
Yes, the band likes mexican audience. Maybe its crazy for them hearing mexicans singing in german you know why i mean? They love tequila also. You are going to love Ghost. They sound so much better live, and Papa Emeritus its so entertaining and funny. Enjoy the show!

Here we see OMEGA, the best ghoul out of EVERY Ghoul throughout history of ghoulhood.
And, in case I wasn't clear about it. Omega was the ULTIMATE GHOUL. NO GHOUL has ever been better than OMEGA. And, NO GHOUL will ever be better than OMEGA.
i'm not sure if her "cartel" commentary was tongue in cheek or if she actually read "magna carta cartel" on the internet and thought it was a real cartel hahahaha

@@ericrojasvelez8891 in this interview it actually can be aether/chris catalyst. if you watch some of his interviews, he has a voice exactly like the ghoul from this one. also he looks a bit taller than tobias. and his mannerisms and body are different from tobias, which is kinda obvious if you watched a lot of his interviews. he always takes a pause to think before answering 😄 + the rings on his hands, aether wears the same ones

The 'cartel' she's referring to is probably their association with the band 'Magna Carta Cartel. Good interview, but I always am astounded at how these days journalists expect musicians to give up their act when they aren't on stage.

I feel Papa (Tobias) is obviously the brains behind it all. He does all the interviews since Omega left. You can see it in his posture, his hand movements, and his voice changes between his normal voice, and Papa voice sometimes. His mannerisms are very specific.

Can someone please tell me why her question to Omega about his rings has been edited out? Or have I gone mad? It was in this video not that long ago. Now it's not. Does anyone else remember it? She asked him where he got his rings and he replied "Forever 21". Please, someone who knows how to find that part of the interview, let me know where? I've searched and searched :(.

I was on the barrier in front of him for the set it was awesome, the band before them were running late by the time Ghost had finished we missed the first 15 min of the Metallica set. the following morning we thought the Sunday line up was shit so we decided to drive up to Leeds and got a day ticket off a tout 😉

The "official" name is Ether, but everybody called him as Omega because the sticker on his guitar, and the same happend with Alpha his "official" name is Fire but the fans named him as Alpha because of Omega, so became Alpha and Omega. Current Aether is not the original ether and beside Omega another guy already was ether so... Current Aether is not the first and problaby won't be the last
I love Metallica AND Omega BOTH! Btw, it's sorta funny that the interviewer says about the guys in Ghost being members of "some sorta Cartel". I do wonder, does she mean the band, the "Magna Carta Cartel?" Because at least 2 members of Ghost HAS been in the group "The Magna Carta Cartel". And, maybe 3 members of Ghost had been in that group MCC.
And, as of now in 2023, Omega from Ghost (Martin Persner) has been the lead singer in that band MCC. I should say that he HAD been a couple of years ago. I am just ASSUMING that he still is. Anyhow, Ghouls have come and gone, but, to me "OMEGA" aka Martin Persner is special as Omega and as himself. BTW, at one time Tobias Forge had been in MCC, and HE is Papa aka The Cardinal, and every other reincarnation of Ghost's lead singer.
Anyhow, Omega should be brought back into the ghosts lineup of Ghouls. Many fans LOVE him.
The interviewer here mentions the band "Rammstein". But, their stage show seems to be even BIGGER and more ELABORATE than Ghost's stage show. But, Ghost's concerts are very enjoyable anyway. And, this ghoul was very nice and gentlemanly to the interviewer.
I do THINK the ghoul is Omega. I've had a few shots of vodka though, so, I am only 95% sure that it is Omega aka Martin Persner.
In this age of sound bites and low attention spans i doubt reporters do any research on these bands before an interview. They just want that "Hi this is a Nameless Ghoul from Ghost and you're watching (enter name of channel)" But it would be nice if they did so they wouldn't sound foolish when they say "People say you're all part of a Cartel sent to take over the world" imagine being asked questions like this everyday you're on tour and how quick would it be before you just walk away from these interviews? I give them credit for remaining so nice during these interviews.
I dig the way she interviews, but she should have looked at the tour schedule first.

This is Martin for sure. Tobias has a similar voice but Martin has a heavier accent.

I honestly don't think Papa does interviews, because he would have to disguise his voice into a third one (not the singing one, not the one on stage), right? That would be hard to make sound as natural as this. Besides, I can distinguish Omega from the adorableness.
+Sarah Norberg There's rumors papa does interviews, but dressing as a Ghoul and when he does you can't see his eyes and he uses his hands a lot when he speaks. He could disguise his voice on stage easiest enough by exaggerating his or an accent and then off stage speak however.
+Adrienneizmyname you are hot as fuck and tobias does interviews because his voice is different than omegas and you can tell by listening..you are also correct in his hand movement.

Papa does do interviews dressed as a Ghoul very frequently (especially during this album cycle), but this particular one isn't him. This is Omega, he has a very distinct voice and mannerisms.
this is definitely Omega. the height and eyes, voice, rings, and body language all single him out easily.
It’s just Tobias in a Ghoul outfit, he’s done an radio interview and the voice is totally the same just muffled. He’s such an excellent human being!
