I feel your pain! My partner and I went apartment inspecting since Decemeber last year. Some where lovely and others really showed us the power of photoshop real estate agencies use. Honestly some where tomatoes vs potatoes in real live. We finally got our hands on an apartment we loved! Good luck with your new chapter of life with your partner! May the years to come be fruitful and amazing :)
Omg yes honestly, I LOVE watching videos of houses and apartments so I definitely enjoyed this video! Your apartment is so beautiful!! Can’t wait for more apartment vlogs once you’ve settled in!!
I had a dream that Briddy visited LA and I met her! Wow what watching this video before bed can do!! 😭😂
Hey lovely, north facing properties are actually the most brightest and hence, most sought after in Australia. Obviously, if there is a building blocking the outlook that is a different story ☺️
Totally. I have West-facing which is too hot in the arvo and before had South which was very dark. North is best.
I agree, North facing are the best! But if she had other buildings blocking it there’s no benefit unfortunately. West facing is the worst in summer omg, way too hot.
Best decision you’ll ever make! I’m also renting. My only regret was not doing it earlier. You will grow so much as a person! And renting is great so much freedom! Good luck on your new chapter
Just came across your channel now as I’m hoping to live in Australia some point in my life , your voice is just so calming to listen to !
for everyone that’s confused: rent in most cases, is generally advertised (when on the market) and paid weekly in Australia !
500 a week is an insane amount for an apartment tho
@@lucylopo4169 unfortunately 500 is sort of the average price for renting a decent place in Sydney :/
@@amandasmith7910 500 a week? So +/- 2k a month? That’s insane!
@@lucylopo4169 As someone living in vancouver that seems very average to me. Actually might even be a good deal for how nice that apartment is hahah
@@lucylopo4169 500 is honestly considered normal in Sydney - it just depends if you want to live in the city or live further out which gives you more space, both will cost ~500 upwards
For general good daylight north facing apartments are the best. West facing units receive the super harsh sun around 3pm to sunset which will make your room sizzling during summer. If you are looking for an apartment which is single aspect I recommend north facing units.
I would definitely pick this apartment as well! It’s amazing ✨ Can’t wait for the content that’s coming ☺️
Gah i love this! So excited for your new chapter in life ✨
❣
Can’t wait to share with you☺️
This was fun to watch! Always love apartment hunting! Prices defs do seem a lot higher compared to Melbourne (where I'm based right now) but yeah in HK the apartment rents were so insane too.
This makes me happy I now own and never have to go through rental house hunting hell again. Congrats on your choice.
I moved out at 21 and it is great for personal development
The apartments look so good in your area!! The latter apartments did look pretty nice
Congratulations Briddy! This is amazing!!!
Watching apartment hunting videos makes me excited for the day I can do it myself.( The apartment you chose was very nice , loved it ✨😌✨)

Same. Only 14 at the moment but man. This is my absolute dream. I’ve always been in a rural area with no people and it’s so miserable for me. I’ve lived in suburban NJ for a while and I loved it. This is my dream
I can’t wait for this moving series!!~
So excited for you and I can’t wait for new content in this apartment!

Left Sydney and Australia for a couple of months ago and finding your channel makes me feel like I'm still there ❤️
soooo excited for the move in vlogs 🙌🙌🙌🙌
The apartment they chose looks like the newer apartments in Penrith. We lived in a “penthouse” in the new apartments in Penrith and it was amazing (saying it’s a “penthouse” because that’s what it was advertised as, but there were at least 10 other “penthouses” on the floor that were laid out similarly). It was split level on the top floor and so bright! Ours faced west, so we looked towards the blue mountains.
If you’re looking to move out, highly recommend Penrith on the Thornton side. Our apartment was $540 a week and only moved out because we bought a house and the owners wanted to move back.
Congrats on your new place! Also, can't believe you like west facing - like yes it does get great afternoon sun but it sure does get hot! Just watch out during the summer and what plants you put on the balcony/near windows as they could die. I used to live in a west facing apartment btw haha
Considering how nice/ modern some of these places look, the prices are actually pretty decent.👌👌
not me watching the entire video when im still in school living with my family. but briddy is life

I’ve just moved out in Melbourne! Brunswick is a good, cheap area
its good you've actually researched what you want, nice choices made! Australian property is so expensive tho it kills me :')
Great overview, just one thing, generally, landlords take care of water bills and strata, you will pay the remaining utility bills. Good luck in your new place
Can’t wait for the new videos in your new home 💗
SHE LOOKS STUNNING 😍😭😭
I love you
good on you, life only gets better from here, keep going
Cool content, will go back to Sydney whenever Australia opens its border! Missed Sydney so much. I lived in Haymarket Sydney at a 3 bedroom apt and the price was $650 per week. Around $500 for those apts in your vids are all good deals to me honestly
thats so expensive
@@namjoonie936 not if you live in Australia and have a job there. Their average pay in Australia is much higher than America that’s why it cost more.

Went through this as well during 2020-now. Both WFH, planning to rent alone now with a stable job. I need a lot of space for myself. Was considering moving from Sydney to Melbourne as well.
I loveee watching apartment hunting videos 🥰
So good that the housing supply is so high in Sydney! It’s insane on the central coast at the moment because everyone from Sydney is moving up here 😢
Same in Perth :(
@@emmckenzie4002 dont get me started on perth😭😭i hate this damn city

Watching this just makes me want to move back to Melbourne from Sydney. I forgot how much more you get for the money down there.. Your apartment is lovely :)
Loving your videos Brissy🖤
As an almost 40 yr old I wish I bought a house instead of renting. I thought renting was good at your age, but I regret now. Can't buy now with kids. Renting just helps your landlord. A mortgage is your own house and you can sell when you want.
Most people in Sydney can’t afford to buy a house at any age right now - I’ll feel lucky if I own a home by 40 here.
@@maddyrevenge feel your pain
@@maddyrevenge most people living in Sydney own their house. If you are poor or can’t save, move somewhere else
@@DavidRamseyIII 40% of Sydney residents are renters. In some suburbs the % of renters is as high as 70%. This percentage will only grow as overseas investors and baby boomers continue to hoard property to benefit from negative gearing and the eventual sales profit as housing prices continue to skyrocket.
Loved this so much 💗
I wanted to move out few months now, same reasons as yours but fincicially speaking... that thought always hold me back...
Congratulations babe! So excited for you! Also, where's your jumper from? it looks so cute on you!
loved this!! 🤩
the interior designer in me loved this video !!
i guessed the right apartment!! love you so much keep up

Woah I follow you on ig and somehow now you appear on my youtube recommendations. That’s some cray algorithm
You know what’s crazier? I’ve been apartment hunting in Sydney and now this is in my suggestions. Never heard of Briddy before!
This feels really bizzare cause I swear I literally inspected most of these properties before
Apartments in Sydney are so generic now. No character to them.
along Macquarrie area we pay like 800 dollars a week at Waterloo Road. Building is connected to the mall. It's a two bedroom apartment with study area convertible to a small room.
This video was really great and informative! I was just wondering what areas are these apartments in, and also what areas you'd recommend? Are they closer to the CBD or further out? Was just curious as they look really good for the price.
Strange to want west-facing in Australia. It get's super hot, uncomfortable sunset light especially in summer. Most Australians tend to want north facing light. Though obviously, highly local things might affect specific apartments or houses - such as if a big building is blocking the light from the north - as was the case here.
Also, I imagine lots of expensive apartments on the north side of the harbour waterfront would actually want south-facing views to get in the vista of the harbour and central business district on the other side.
Wtf I have been looking at the most gross apartments in Sydney for like $450 a week and these are $500??? there is no way, these are so cute
Me too! I’d love to know what suburb these apartments are in!
@@cat2k10 i think rhodes or wentworth point
@@cat2k10 Look around Zetland/Rosebery area too. Quite similar apartments in the vid for around $500
i wish i could afford to move out
I believe the prices you saw in the video were affected by the Covid. Usually, it is pretty hard to find these kind of nice-looking houses with such a reasonable price like this in Sydney.
Wow I’m doing the same thing right now I was preparing to buy a townhome for several months but then I realized first: I don’t have many options lol and second I really don’t want to make such a commitment at such a young age where anything can happen in my life and I don’t want to feel stuck. I’m also looking for an apartment now but the prices here in the US are ridiculous
czcams.com/video/1RNyLO0pZqA/video.html
Apartment 3 and 4 are Meriton apartments :). Same colours, same fixtures :)
omf i’m so excited to move once i’m older near perth ahh
I LOVE YOUR AUSTRALIAN ACCENT
You got the direction wrong in terms of sunlight. North facing is better than South (mostly dark). East gets the sun in the morning and West gets the sun in the afternoon (very hot during summer). East and North facing apartments are more desirable and expensive.
Ooooo i love it!!!! 💘💘💘
Can't believe I've been watching her from when she was 15! It's so weird hahahaa
gosh how I wish I can be in 20s again, those were the best years in my life....
whaaat this is crazy how cheap they are! My husband and I got a place in Sydney in May (2021) and our rent is $800/wk for 2 bed 2 bath.
Oh lol. Knew each and every apartment 😁 bcos I was also looking for the same area/ same apartment criteria and budget. So this video is somehow super helpful I don’t need to book inspections 😂
@@karennguyen7570 yeap where is this
the prices per week are actually insane holy

Good video.
Lost a bit of momentum in the middle.
I think if you'd shortlisted the homes to 5, that should be sufficient.
Another area you should have mentioned was the provision of car space, associated storage and common areas like rooftop terrace / BBQ areas.
Can't believe we're almost the same age and you're living with ur bf & know lots abt life while here i am under the same roof w/ my big-ass messy family lmao:')
