- On today's episode of the Meet the Leaders, we have Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto Ltd. A man of the world, quite literally, he has had a pivotal role in making the Bajaj Pulsar a global name. In 2001, the Pulsar changed the perspective of the fuel economy-oriented Indian two-wheeler market by offering a sporty motorcycle for the masses. From the iconic round headlamp Pulsar, which, by the way, is still all the rage in Iran, to the 220F, the brand has grown leaps and bounds. The Pulsar range has accrued a global fan following, and has become the leading two-wheeler in many foreign markets. Shumi and Rohan talk with Mr Rakesh about where the Pulsar started, how it's going, and what the future holds (including the upcoming Pulsar 250F), and also discover some golden rules to live by.

LIMITED OBJECTIVE... beautiful interview. Thanks for doing this interview with Mr. Sharma. I shared this interview with son to get some influence at early age.
We call the Pulsar here in the Philippines the Rouser and is rebadged as a Kawasaki. Smart move on that, we have been thinking that the Pulsar/Rouser was the bike of men and it took the loving owners a while that the reliable Rouser was an Indian bike. Because of that, most backbone value for money bikes are always made in India here in the Philippines.

"It will have pure motorcycling, no gizmos". Translation: This is going to be another design job, with engines lifted from the KTMs, with no modern-day features provided by the competitors.
P.S. I'm still excited for the new-gen Pulsar, just wish that the Bajaj leaders treated the Pulsar brand with more respect and did their best to make it the segment leader. Hoping that Oct-28 will be a pleasant surprise day for me. 😊

Tough question to the wrong guy. When it's Pulsar and it's inception, all questions need to go to Joseph Abraham. Why the 4 stroke scooters failed? And how did Pulsar as a concept come into picture? CBZ vs Pulsar? How did the Patent Mania begin with DTSi and ExausTEC?
These good people will make the Indian riding industry interesting in many ways, thanks to P.D. We get to know such wonderful people like him because of you ♥️

Great interview. Probably I think only one question probably I wanted to know an answer of was if there a big capacity avenger down the corner ?
I got tired of waiting for it and moved on. Upgraded to Adventure bike. We do need a cruiser with proper power.. 30bhp plus
me too ,waiting 4 more powerful ,more controlable and more refined version of avenger,specially due to seating posture and for my younger sister, who is having height of just 5ft...😆😆,because of this,avenger is her only comfortable options.
