He didn't explain it well. Prudent ticket is a speeding ticket when you are within the speed limit but the conditions weren't appropriate for that speed. It's it legal to give it even without the gun reading since when you are within the actual speed limit that reading doesn't mean anything.
E.g: going very close to the speed limit with high velocity winds or rain or snow (when in a car).
Yeah it sucks getting one because technically you never actually sped, but since it's legal you cannot do anything about it.
In this video we don't get to see the conditions that the ticket was given so no one but him knows if it was actually a dangerous speed even within the limit

Also, the cop is supposed to be a professional and should be be held to higher standards of decorum than you or I. He should be expected to remain polite and professional no matter how much of a dick someone is to him. The third cop in this video was EXTREMELY unprofessional and deserves to be fired.

pyro forever! From what I gathered from what the officer said it's the perceived opinion of the officer (from the officer's sight basically) that the guy looked like he was speeding. The officer, using only his eyeballs and no instrument like the speed gun, is saying the guy is speeding. It's probably just a bullshit tactic to give speeding tickets. I mean the cop might be able to say he used his own speed to compare to the bikers speed but I doubt it.

@@johnwhiskey1152 - The citation is essentially a court summons. If you do not sign saying you will appear or pay your fines, you can be taken into custody. Signing a citation (which is given once you violate a law) is a good faith agreement that you will handle the issue properly. If they feel you are not going to comply, they can take you in since you have given them reason to believe you would fail to appear.

Sometimes they might be getting to an emergency that doesn't require them to go code 3 but still fairly quick.

They will turn the lights on if the traffic in front of them is impeding them from reaching the destination in a reasonable amount of time. So when they are on the highway and they can weave through traffic, there is no need for lights

I understand that cops are just doing their job and are entitled to take actions that other citizens are not. Also, the ratio of good/bad cops in this series shows that, even in America, the majority are friendly cops that don't want to punish the bikers, but just make a statement.
However, looking at the cop at 2:35, he's doing his job completely wrong! There may have been a description about another guy, and the biker even may have put the licence plate this way on purpose (for whatever reason). BUT: approaching the biker in this way, even though there is no sign of him riding off and he's being cooperative, is making the matter waaay too personal. A cop's job is to enforce the laws the community has agreed on, and stay objective. In this situation all the cop should have done is to check the licence plate, and judge based on his observations and the law. It's not his fucking business whether the biker did this on purpose or not - he's the one who writes a ticket, but not the one who should be offended!
Of course, personal judgement is not avoidable and even necessary in order to identify whether the biker is bullshitting or not. But this wasn't judgement, this was conviction.

In my experience most cops are very cool. I've been pulled over a dozen times and always got out of the ticket... as long as you treat the cop with respect and not bs him with an attitude and admit to and apologize for your infraction you should be good.
