Bangkok City To Koh Samet Island

It's about a 5 hour trek from Bangkok City to Koh Samet island... if the traffic isn't so bad. We left our hotel in the center of Bangkok around 7:30 a.m. and got to the Ekkamai Bus Terminal shortly before 8:00 a.m. From here you take a small bus to the Rayong area of Thailand. Just tell them that you are going to Koh Samet... their English is pretty good. It's only about 200 Baht, and takes about 4 hours. From there, take a slow boat for about the same price (200 Baht)... and that is about another 45 minutes to get to the island. The speed boats only take about 12 minutes... but I think the slow boat is more relaxing... and cheaper.
