Ciurel Passage, Splaiul Independentei | Bucharest

The Ciurel Passage is an overpass in Bucharest, which will connect the Splaiul Independêsi with the Splaiul Independêsi-Ciurel-Autostrada A1 crossing. The breach was planned to ease traffic on Iuliu Maniu Boulevard and the other roads entering the city from the Militari district.
The project experienced difficulties from the start, with the building permit being challenged in court and canceled several times, but work finally started in 2014.
The passageway consists of a cable-stayed bridge and a classical section, on pillars, and has exit ramps on Soseau Virtuții and Independence Splaiul.
