I’ve certainly missed Crystal in the last few videos, but you’ve done an excellent job by yourself Jim! Keep up the good work! I really love all of your videos ❤️👏👏
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words (Crystal too, she is here next to me). I have one more hotel (Alamo Inn and Suites) and two more experiences by myself. I think the next hotel we are releasing is Best Western + Mini Suites (Crystal is in that video).
We some other videos planned and got delayed, like Genie +, since I ended up catching a bad cold (not covid). We cancelled our last trip since I was sick. Fortunately, the hotels are forgiving right now.
@@AnaheimParkTourist too bad you got sick, but better to be safe 😁 Hi Crystal!
How often do you guys go? It seems like a lot. I manage 2-3 times per year, but would love to go more…or just move there 😄
@@tinkershell1856 We go about every 6-8 weeks. I took our boys on their first day of winter break as a fun boys trip. The prior trip where we were all there was the weekend before Thanksgiving. We are planning a trip in February. Before the channel we went 3-5 times a year. We probably go a bit more now.
I will sometimes take a solo trip there since I accrue a lot vacation time. It isn't as much fun without Crystal but I still enjoy going. It is better than burning vacation days and hanging out around the house.
We actually thought about selling our place and moving closer when our kids finish with school. We love the weather in Southern California but not the traffic. I don't think we are going to do this but it is tempting.
I am finally feeling much better. I am the only one that didn't get a flu shot this year because it was a bad match. I was the only one who got sick. Lesson learned!
I will tell Crystal you said hi!
I guess looking at the surrounding street i’d know what im getting myself into as far as noise and getting some sleep but, never the less, great hotel review and scenery. I think i will book here soon! Great that their are places to eat just walkable downstairs too.👍
The noise wasn't bad at all from the street. Some low vibrations but nothing that was jarringly loud. We have stayed at other hotels that sounded like you were sleeping next to a race track. Having places to eat so close is such a nice perk and super convenient.
Nice work, knowing where I can get beer from is always a plus.
The breakfast looked really nice too but the thin walls & floors would be an issue for me
Agreed. I always like to get a beer after a long day at the parks. Walgreens has a wide selection of alcohol at reasonable prices, especially when compared to DLR. The breakfast is the standout perk for staying here and it didn't disappoint.
I am a light sleeper and thin walls are always tough for me. I normally pack ear plugs or put some sort of music to help drown out the noise. I was shocked how easy it was to hear your neighbors.
Thanks for the review
You are welcome! As always thank you for watching and leaving a comment, we appreciate it.
Appreciate this video! I was considering this hotel for our family of 7, but the thin walls might be a deal-breaker. Unfortunate because it looks awesome otherwise!
The rooms were great here and I love the room configuration. The noise does settle down later in the evening as people go to bed. However, if you do get a loud neighbor it can keep you up at night. It is always a gamble if you get quiet neighbors or loud neighbors.
We recently Stayed at Best Western Mini Suites and there was a ton of noise from Harbor. This was the hotel I was referring to in this video that had a ton of road noise.
If you aren't sure and want to look at some other alternatives that are in the same area:
We have videos at these hotels (But not the suites)
Alpine Inn 1 Bedroom Suite
Camelot Inn Family Suite
Howard Johnson Suites
Tropicana Family Suite
Springhill Suites
Park Vue Inn
We do not have videos at these hotels
Residence Inn Convention Center
The Element (our friends recently stayed here and loved it)
Home 2 Suites
Courtyard Marriott Theme Park
Desert Palms
Grand Legacy at the Park
shocked to hear about the sound from next door, that was loud. this is a newer hotel didn’t expect that too be an issue. do like how they provide EV charging and breakfast. so non guests can park inside to use Walgreens or the restaurants? interesting did not think that. thanks for sharing you experience! ✨
There are separate lots that are blended into one large lot. To park on the hotel side you need a pass to not get towed. I am sure if you can find a spot, a quick in and out isn't a biggie. The area by Walgreens has a ton of empty spots available for shopping and the restaurants. I was a bit shocked how thin the walls were here.
Looks really nice what is there a free parking lot or is that extra $$$$
Parking was an extra fee. We just looked it up, and it’s $28 plus 17% tax a night. We have noticed a lot of the hotels surrounding Disneyland have increased their parking rates dramatically in the past year. Thank you for watching!!
I was saying at the Wyndham this past weekend, and around 11pm the intersection got taken over by people doing donuts in their car, they had it blocked of over 20min before cops came
Ugh! That is frustrating,. We have been in the area and it sounded like were next to a race track all night long. I don't think we would have crossed the street at Harbor and Katella. Was it loud in your hotel room? This is so dangerous with so many people around.
@@AnaheimParkTourist extremely loud, burnt tire smoke covering the entire area, people honking uncontrollable, they wouldn't let any one cross harbor or katella, it was kinda scary to be honest.
Any hotel recommendations? I booked this hotel and I have heard about the thin walls. Is it a deal breaker? We really want something close to the park with a breakfast. Thanks for the review!!!
That is a tough one, we had a baby next door and the poor little baby cried a lot. Our oldest was a fussy baby and we can definitely empathize with the parents. We once took a 4 hour car ride and our son cried the whole way. My boys and I really like the room layout a lot. The noise was a problem for me, I am a light sleeper that has issues falling back to sleep when awakened. I typically bring a sound machine, headphones I can wear to bed, or earplugs. I think if you are a light sleeper and have a problem going back to sleep you might look elsewhere. A lot depends on your neighbors. The hotel did quiet down after the parks closed. In the video we just wanted to point out the walls are thin. A number of Trip Advisor reviews also point out thin walls.
Do you need a suite or a large room? There are a number of hotels in the area that do offer breakfast.
Hotels that we have videos on:
Best Western Park Place Inn and Mini Suites -This hotel did have traffic noise issues but it is close to the parks
Best Western Anaheim Inn -Now serving a full hot breakfast according to their website. There is self parking and offsite valet. We aren't a fan of offsite parking.
Springhill Suites -We stayed during the shutdown and it was a very different crowd, normal crowds are back in Anaheim. Our room tour does reflect a party environment at the time.
Hotels we don't have a video on
Desert Palms -We haven't stayed here but our friends have and really enjoyed it. About the same distance Hyatt House
Home 2 Suites -We are staying there next month, this is a new hotel located next door to the Hilton Garden inn. We have a walking video from this location.
Residence Inn -We haven't stayed here either, it does have good reviews.
Candy Cane closed until at least May for a full renovation- have a back up reservation elsewhere in case it doesn't open if you book here.
The Element, it is about 15-17 minute walk so very borderline on distance.
There are more places that serve breakfast further away.
I'm going to the Pros once again! Looking at a trip in May! 3 options! Hyatt House is the cheapest of the 3! Tropicana is next and is only $150 more over the entire 9 day trip! Option 3 is the Cambria which is $1,000 more but my kids wanna stay there ... badly! 😂 What do ya think?
Hey! We stay at Cambria for the first time later this month. It’s quite the walk from the parks. Do you prefer to stay closer? Or don’t mind the distance?
I did not stay at Hyatt House, only Jim and our kids did. Jim said he would pick Tropicana over Hyatt House. He likes the proximity to the parks from Tropicana. He did also say he liked having a Starbucks, food options and the Walgreens so close at Hyatt House.
Another thing to think about is the free breakfast offered at both Cambria and Hyatt House. For our family, having an included hot breakfast saves us a lot of money…(although not $1,000!)
It’s interesting that Cambria is so much more expensive in May. For our upcoming trip, it was one of the cheaper options.
We can give you more insight on the Cambria after our stay, but $1,000 more seems like A LOT!! You could so many more things with that extra money! WOC dessert party, go see Walt’s apartment on a tour, save money towards another trip….
Hope that helps! -Crystal
@@AnaheimParkTourist Hmmm 🤔 I like the closeness of the Tropicana! I like the Free Breakfast / Walgreens / Restaurants / Starbucks of the Hyatt House! But I may wait to hear about the CAMBRiA when you get back before I decide! Hope you guys have an amazing time!
Darn...looks like a great hotel but lots of cons, too, it sounds like that. Thats too bad
It was sort of a mix bag for us. Great room layouts and the room was comfortable. I think if you are deep sleeper you would be okay staying here.
I can’t tell you how grateful I am at this time for you and your family’s review of this hotel! May God bless you!
