Watching a video where two of the most influential artists in my life are just having a bit of fun, banter and mutual appreciation of each other is basically bringing me to tears. Lemme explain. Back in the early 90's I heard Thunderstruck, then saw the music video...and for the next 2 and a half decades I have devoured anything and everything AC/DC. Then, with the advent of interviews being posted on the internet, I had to find out that one of the biggest rockers in history, Brian Johnson, is not just a charming fellow, but also one helluva cool, nice guy. The kind of guy I would donate an organ to if he needed it. Not because I am starstruck, but because he is relatable and awesome. Then there's Mark Knopfler. The man that, with his band, recorded Sultans of Swing, Romeo and Juliet, etc...and...my father's favorite, Walk of Life. That last song was such a big part of my childhood years because my dad played it all the time. Once grown up and bought the Dire Straits albums for me and collected the vinyls. And my dad passed away in 2011. So every time I hear Mark's voice, I see my dad's face clearer than I have in years in my mind's eye.
That is why this video is one the most beautiful things I have seen... ever.
