Since you started with SPORT MODE, it only limits you about 5-10 mins of continuous power because of overheating issue so the controller will limit you to a certain speed to cool down the motor

I do the same, except mine is a 72v hyper bike that can go 50+ mph. He looks hilarious riding that slow 😂
Hey going down at 31 mph is the same no matter if it is on a e-bike, e-scooter, or motorcycle. Thank God I had on full gear when I crashed on the e-scooter at 32 mph, I walked away without a scratch because of that CE armor jacket and helmet. And my boots saved me from more damage to my ankles. I got a sprained left ankle that is now mostly healed but it could have been far worst had I had on sneakers. Really, the only reason I wear a FF helmet is for the camera and mic. Normally I just wear a bicycle helmet when I'm not filming. However, you can never have on too much protection. Hospital bills are way more expensive than gear and who wants to be laid up in a hospital? Better safe than sorry!
@@CycleCruza I know mate, only pulling your leg. Its always good for people to take precautions to protect themselves from injury. However, it does still look funny being fully decked out riding all this slow eBike stuff, especially when you can peddle a standard bike the same speed.

Check the manual. Many e-bikes are rated at Class 2 speed which is 20 MPH, and the controller that feeds power to your motor is usually programmed to limit your speed to that. Usually, you can reprogram the controller to take that limit off and access the full speed capability of the e-bike. Check the settings using the LED screen and read the manual to learn how, or search CZcams for a video on your specific e-bike to learn how to unlock it. Bikes are speed rated by law into Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 and are regulated differently in each State or country to limit the speed. Speed limits on e-bikes in England are far stricter than in the USA, for example. And if you use electric power only, instead of power assist, you'll suck those batteries dry much faster. While pedaling, your legs will put out about 250 watts of power and really extend the e-bikes range. E-bikes have limits, and to expect a lot of speed over a long distance may disappoint you if you are used to riding motorcycles. Also, the advertising specs on e-bikes are often exaggerated, with ratings shown for riders who are very slim and light, so don't trust them, trust the reviews. When buying an e-bike, don't just look at the peak power rating, look at the sustained power rating, and pay attention to the power rating in watts of the controller, which may limit the power applied to the motor, so in the ads you only get half the story with regard to the specs. It's hard to compare e-bikes to one another because of the untrustworthy specs from the manufacturer.
That was part of the issue, the speed restriction was on. However, had the bike adhered to only 16 mph I would have know there was a restriction and turned it off. The fact that it would do 31 mph and then drop speed didn't make sense, if it only did 16 mph then that would make sense. I did increase the speed limit and it returned to full speed. The other e-bikes I have came with the speed limit at full max so I assumed this ebike did too. My bad. I just reviewed the all new 2024 Engwe X24:

There's also "Cruise mode" on settings. You don't need to hold down the booster button all the time, if you want it off just push the brakes or booster Button and it goes back to normal

I have this bike mine goes 32 on flat you have to adjust the setting in the power settings hood down the up and down button at the same time and you can adjust it it just broke down like 2 days ago it shows fault 30 and I’ve been trying to fix it but it’s hard bruh
I looked in the settings and the speed limit was set to 16 mph. However, if the bike had only went to 16 mph I would figured out there was a speed limiter in place and I would have corrected it. Supposedly, they corrected the issues with their latest model set to release in August. If they send it I'll do a review.
Just took mime out to the mountains and couldnt kill both batteries. Not a glitch and you need to unlock the forks if you want the smooth suspension ride. Kept it at a constant 31mph coming downhill. I added a shock stem seat as well.

I just got a Helite vest since I saw you were talking about how amazing it is and I did some more research on it. But I was in a crash on September 13th last year, full gear, no airbag vest, the car pulled out right in front of me, I flew over the entire car and only broke my left hand and sprained my right hand, it was a 25mph zone in downtown at night, but I was going 35-50mph, but I slowed down before they hit me, I really don’t remember how fast I was going, I don’t even remember the crash, I blacked out, but I give credit to the Lord for protecting me and keeping me in one piece, He is good! I’m definitely going to ride safer, I pick up my brand new 2023 MT-07 from the dealership on Saturday 😁. I’m going to honor God with my riding now!!! Ride safe ✌️
Sorry to hear but you were lucky to not get hurt too bad. You are smart to get an airbag vest, it should be the law all riders have to wear them, there would be so many less deaths and riders getting crippled. However, some people have to learn the hard way, too many riders are more concerned about the price of the airbag vest than their safety which boggles my mind because if you get hurt bad you'll be getting bills from the hospital for the next two years for tens of thousands, especially if you don't have health insurance.

Cruzza you ever think about mt10. Your 1 bike away from having the trifecta of the mt’s! If you ever do it I’d like to see a video on a tier list of all 3. Also sucks about the e-bike. I’ve thought about getting one but I feel like if I lived in a beach area I’d want an e-bike even more.
The MT-10 chassis is too similar to the MT-09 which I don't like, it is like a fake supermoto. Also, the MT-10 has way more power than you'll actually use on the street and if you do use the power you put yourself and the public in danger not to mention speeding tickets suck and possible license suspension. After owning all the different types of bikes I've come to realize the smaller torquey bikes are the best for street riding, reason why I love my supermoto and mt-07. Definitely get an e-bike, they are not only fun but they provide cardio to which is good for your health.

I bought a Aventon brand e bike from a dealer that can service the unit. Great bikes! Don't be cheap with e bikes they are items that you need to spend some money on for good quality! Always go to a dealer for support and purchase! I say I rather have them fix my bike that costed a lot of money under a warranty!
Those type sometimes you have to keep the pedal moving even though it’s not doing anything to override the speed sensor so it goes full speed 😂

Put the speed limit to 50km/h, it did for me as well at start when i had Factory settings on max speed 25km/h. I was peddaling the bike and then it never went over 28km/h, when i reached the speed the power went down somehow. But after i took the speedlimit off. It was all good 😊
How do you turn the speed limit off?. I just ordered my bike yesterday, waiting for it to arrive so if you can tell me ahead of time how to turn off the speed limit that would be nice

If it just had only reached 16 mph I would have realized there was a restriction on the bike and corrected it. So either way this ebike was faulty. Egwe said they were sending the new updated model that corrects all of the cons I pointed out in this video.
@CycleCruza I think they meant for this to be a "supplement" to a standard bicycle rider. Not electric bike with pedal assist like the others. 20 mph is quick for a pedal bike. I think it is speed limited for that purpose. Some one gets tired of pedaling or going up hills and just takes a break with the electric motor.
Still a disappointment though. They should have made that clear from the beginning..........

You have to use the key fob to derestrict it, had a similar problem with my e bike, once you do whatever combination you need to do it will derestrict it
What key fob? I did not get a key fob, just two sets of keys. I believe I found the issue, was set to a limit of 16 mph, but that was defective because it did all kinds of speeds above 16 MPH , even up to 31 MPH and below 16 MPH to no power. If it stayed at 16 MPH I would have realized it was restricted and I would have corrected it.

I got a keyfob with mine, I hold the lock button down for 10 seconds and it takes the restrictions off.
It needs a bigger battery and higher volts. This is why a 250cc or 500cc motorcycle is where it is at for this price range. CycleCruza ripping down the trails with all the gear on... need some Skynyrd "Free Bird" blaring from a blue tooth speaker! You paid the price though on peddling!

My Lectric XP 3.0 has been nothing but junk. I wouldn't recommend that brand too anyone.
So far my e-bike experience has been positive until this bike. Even though the Sur Ron X has crappy components, the torquey power is fun as heck. The other cheaper e-bikes I have were fun. This ebike is the worst one but maybe I got a lemon, however, I feel the suspension is for looks and not very beneficial at all. I hate to do bad reviews, you'll rarely see a really bad review on my channel because I generally avoid bad products. However, I kept it 💯 with this video.

I’ve got an XP 2.0 (going on 2 years) and have had no issues with it. A flat tire 2 weeks ago was the worst thing I’ve experienced. It did give me the opportunity to upgrade the flywheel to 11-34 and add Tannus Armour though. The vaunted customer service leaves a lot to be desired but I’ve been happy with the bike. I am looking into the Engwie P-26 as a secondary e-bike.

I am a big Engwe fan. I have a dual battery M20. I think the X26 is just a near miss. They tried to make a bike that does everything.
I just got the newer X24 for 2024 that corrects most of not all of the issues. I will be doing a review soon.

I grew tired of cops following me, getting tickets and brainless speeding like a fool. I realized the streets are for cruising, really supermoto is the most fun riding you can have on the street, I might do another supermoto build of some sort. These e-bikes and e-scooters are just side fun and cardio. I believe this e-bike is defective tho, nobody else is having these issues.
Dude just get an ADV bike and be done. Your bug out Van, your exploring etc. you have no clue you are an ADV guy. Accept it, it’s ok. We will all support you. Do the TAT and make it a big motovlog series. The prep, planning logistics, bike set up, and the maiden voyage will all be completely epic. I’m telling ya. After that you have all the back country routes like the new one through Wyoming that one just got released early last year and is extremely popular we are doing it possibly next year. It’s called the WYBDR.
This backcountry discovery route has them in most states look into what’s local to you, but these are extremely popular in the adventure world
I wish I could, right now I'm spending all of my free time renovating this Cleveland house from top to bottom. I had planned on a bugout trip but it has been pushed back. My dream is to do the TAT, hopefully one day soon. However, I think I would probably get a 690 for the trip, lighter weight, low maintenance and plenty of power and capable for harsh terrain.
@@CycleCruza we did the TAT on a 690 and a 701, DR650 a WR250R (bike was not the right bike for that) and we ended up doing a 2nd modified run from Yellowstone to Oregon through the giant redwoods hit the coast then down to Eurika, CA we all live in San Diego, CA. We drove a big RV out with the bikes in the trailer. We have a driver but if someone was tired we would switch drivers for the RV. We would meet at various legs. Sometimes we camped off the bikes, found solo hunting shacks etc. our next trip is the WYBDR in late July early Aug 2024. If you want any info or ever want to join up with us, you are more than welcome. We are all 50+ year old Engineers who have been exploring various trips since 1996

Nobody else had these power issues so I'm assuming I just got a defective bike. I believe the issue was the speed limiter was set to 16 mph, but what doesn't make sense is why the bike went to 31 mph and other speeds above 16 mph but then it would drop speed. If it just went to 16 mph only I would have figured there was a speed limiter in place. I removed the speed limiter and will test it and see if that corrects the problem.
Imagine buying a tesla and having problems like this. Granted any vehicle can have problems. But atleast with mechanical combustion engines u get warning signs (wont sound right...hard start, runs rough, laggy pickup, dummy lights). This electronic stuff doesn't have anything like that it just works right or doesn't or doesnt work at all. and there isn't any tell tales. Battery, circuit board, wiring, computer settings. Personally I don't understand getting this over a gas scooter moped except the license and insurance. U should have insurance on anything u use as a vehicle if u have a 5 or six thousand dollar pedal bike it's smart to have insurance on it for a few bucks a month

You would not believe how small they have.made these 4 stroke engines for bicycles. Still not fully trusting these lipo batteries yet
I like electric torque and also I charge all of my batteries for free with solar in my bugoutvan, you can't beat free. You just have to careful with the batteries. The gas bikes are cool too but more maintenance which I hate to do.

If you're only using the throttle and not pedaling it will only go 20mph. This is for legal reasons. If you pedal it will go 30mph. You don't have to pedal hard. All you have to do is keep the cranks spinning.

You can only be in sport mode or top speed for 30 mins and then have to restart the bike.. sick bike but that’s a deal breaker
What's embarrassing is when you get take new technology and don't know how to use it. It isn't the bike, you have to set it on the Class that allows for the higher speeds so the technology will compensate for the temp change and you won't cook your bike. See, I have spent months researching these before I bought mine and next week will be my first ride. Just like a computer, all the tweaks are in the software and firmware. Knowledge and patience, also you can adjust the shocks.
Honestly-that has to be one of the UGLIEST E-bikes I have ever seen. Though I know beauty is in the eye of the beer holder.

It may be just a boost mode when it only comes on for a surton amount of time or go into your settings and change it

However, why would it ever reach 31 MPH and other higher speeds like it did? If it had only went to 16 mph I would have figured there was a restriction on the bike and corrected it. I was getting all kinds of of different speeds, 24 mph, 31 mph, 10 mph, 16 mph, it was all over the place. The speed limit setting did not work but I'm sorry I did not check it.

I really like your videos they are fun and funny with a lot of truths. But after 30 years of working on electrical stuff as a controls technician I would never waste money on a e-bike. They are expensive. I’ve worked on ac controllers dc drives on Yamaha, Crown. The controllers are expensive. The technology isn’t there yet. They are cool but not for this guy. The older DC drives you could replace components. You could replace the scr’s capacitors snubbers the diodes etc. You could also program the drive to change the speed and regeneration. The newer trucks used inverters to convert the DC to AC. Some of those trucks were 36 V three phase AC. They were faster little bit longer battery life. I was just never impressed. I only had to work on these vehicles when they had strange electrical problems. I thought the electrical golf carts were the worst. Loved the review. Wish you all the luck with the E-bikes. This is not a knock on the e-bikes just my opinion on issues I’ve seen and cost.
