    Man I have never felt so far away from home than I have right now, yet so close! I just cannot wait get back to NZ with our little girl so she can finally meet all of her NZ whanau. I know there are so many people In the same situation and any kiwi who is away from home feels the same. Such a awesome song and clip to watch right now, it sends goosebumps up my arm!!       You’re absolutely right! They have no demographic and transcend age, race and stereotypes. I’ve loved them for over 10 years but so does my mum, grandmother, nieces and nephews! That’s why they’re NZ’s greatest band of all time IMO ❤️

    I lost my beautiful daughter and I keep a light on for her at night as she was scared of the dark. This song just touched me so much with the beautiful words. I will keep the home fires burning till I see her once more. It also gives me strength so when I miss her with a pain in my heart I listen to this song and it all falls into place.     I love this song, makes me tear up and warms my heart...every time I hear it now it makes me think of Sean Wainui. Never knew him but this song reminds me of how proud he was of heritage and being Māori.       years ago before six60 was even a thing chris taught me how to use a soundboard. im glad he succeeded in music, he was a very patient teacher.
