Seems easy enough to take on and off. If you don’t end up liking them, only put them on when you need to use them.
Nice! This was one of the first things I purchased once I got my GTI. I took them off for now since I don’t have a real need now but I’m sure once this quarantine is over my wife and kids are going to need a road trip escape so I’m sure they will come in handy! Good luck.

Have you installed the adhesive wind reduction strips? If so, where do they go?
paint them with rocker guard, my buddy did it on his mk5 and I thought it looked great on his silver car! Looks great!

Just got these, get the Thule wind reflector and itll look sick, i love it. i like that they are OEM and dont hang over.

@@Russellscottx i know i got mine for 200, couldn't complain compared to thule or the others for out the door of about 700! looks good though!
The INNO wind deflector (fairing) is a lot less expensive and you can get it on Amazon new or used. Mine will be here on Sunday! Can’t wait and I love how the roof rack looks.
@@whtdragn yeah u can get it for about 90 bucks i looked into that before i got the thule one.l i like the thule fit and look more, but thats just me
Did you have to modify the thule wind fairing or the OEM roof rack?
having my racks on for 3 years it does do a number on the paint, but nothing that a little bit of polish and wax cant fix.

@@Russellscottx I put a few squares of paint protect film under my posts it work perfect and you can barely see it when the rack is off.

Thanks for the video. Can you tell me the length of just the aluminum bars (not including the tower)? I can't find those dimensions anywhere. I assume the rear bar is shorter than the front bar since the roof width narrows as it goes back. Need to make sure the bars are wide enough to load my canoe.

Definitely worth it if you can find a used set! I just couldn’t bring myself to spend close to $400 with shipping for a new pair!

Nope nothing yet! I don’t have a sunroof either, which I know that causes issues!
I have a sunroof on my 2019 SE and I have had the roof rack on for a month or so with no water leaking issues (and no issues opening/closing the sunroof)

Ah since I commented I've gone back and forth as to what I should do, and I'm thinking I'll go with a set of BC Coils. I spent a lot of time in Mexico, at high speeds, along with occasional track, and I think proper coils fit me better. My car at 30k miles have an unknown strut history, and at that a questionable history. Previous owner wrecked the car, I rebuilt it. Shop that he took it to told me they took it back to stock from stage 2, and it was slammed on coils previously, and they got unknown miles used shocks to put back on it. I think I'd rather install coils myself too, it's much easier than disassembling unknown miles struts. Thank you so much man though, the quick reply and info helped!
