    Looks pretty radical with the stressed member engine and monoshock. Miles away from a stock CX or even GL500. Great work.

    That is really cool, man! Sounds awesome too by the way, very nice sound. I have a '79 CX500 Custom and I'm thinking about doing a build. But I've had this bike for so long, and not quite ready to chop it up. I use it for commuting and two-up riding on the weekends in the country. It's a great bike, runs very nice and has been very reliable.

    • @trevorjameson3213
      @trevorjameson3213 Před 3 lety +2

      Yeah they just start building good power around 7000, which continues past red line. Well, Honda states that they set red line at 9600, but during pre-production testing, they said the engine runs reliably to 11,500, and valve float didn't occur until 12,200. And the manual states that short bursts of acceleration up to 10,500 is acceptable, so they're giving the owners a 1000 rpm safety buffer there I guess.

  • @ezrasmith7999

    Hey, so i have the stock Keihin carbs with a sigma 6 jet kit with velocity stacks. Would you still recommend the Murray's carbs. Im running a very similar exhaust set up to yours. Just about 8 more inches of pipe. Voodoo sode dump off slip ons with H pipe delete. My bike packs a hell of a punch for a 500 but dosnt quite pull like that. And never had my bike rev quite that high.

    • @LeoBarella333
      @LeoBarella333  Před 6 lety +1

      The combination Carbs / AirPods / Freeflow exhaust I would say about 10HP. Carburators are jetted to let more fuel in and pods let more air in. The pickup speed is night and day. The bike is much more responsive. Once I get it on the Dyno I can tell you exactly how much HP I got.
