New year, new kitty, new ending art 👀✨
Big thank you to:
twitter.com/snackyboyshop 💕
I liked the previous one 🥺
the marmite peanut butter might work as an ingrediant in something just don't salt what ever it is you are cooking it with
@@WardNightstone Maybe make peanut butter cookies? If making the baked ones, it might take away some saltiness. Whipped peanutbutter/marmite frosting, whipped with cream cheese, as well, might be ok
Yes to vlogging your fossil hunting. I'm glad you had a wonderful Christmas, and I wish you all a very happy New Year.🐚🐌
Happy New Year! 🎆✨💟 The new outro is so cute
I'm always down for some more Chris and Sharla interactions! I'd love to see the fossil beach!
I love them together :)
Match made in Hea...hm Japan♥️
It's weird how some people act like fossils are rare. They're all over the place. What's rare is LARGE fossils, like big dinosaurs.
@@denimadeptare you like upset or something that someone is interested in fossils, and not the kind you think are cool? Like what 😂
Glad you loved the leather case. You can now take the luck of Maro and Tuna with you wherever you go!
Going to be perfect for travelling!! 🥰❤️ Thank you again for the amazing gifts!!
It’s super cute!❤️🥰
Where can I order one?!
Very cool gift
@Cynthia W I ordered a few hundred sheets of it. It’s double sided too with different actors and characters on both sides. Right now I haven’t worked out the logistics of shipping them without folding so they aren’t currently on sale.
I think the Marmite is revenge for the Mushroom Farm you once gave Chris for Christmas 😜
Fair enough😂
@@sharlainjapan Hey, you're lucky. You could have received sticky notes !!!
@@scotmcpherson She has her own stationary company, you think she'd be disappointed with sticky notes? 😂
Oh yeah! Almost forgot about that.
or the eggnog wich is spite of being SUPER SUPER english he thought was vile
a tip for marmite is I usually mix like half a teaspoon of marmite with 2/3rds of a teaspoon of butter in a bowl and then spread it on the toast, it makes it way easier to control the amount of marmite you’re putting on the toast as the butter makes it spread easily :)
As someone who lives nearby to the Jurassic Coast, I highly suggest taking a trip down to Kimmeridge as its a place where you'll almost always be able to find fossils. The beach is covered in ammonites of varying sizes and shapes. There is also a very cosy restaurant in the village opposite a fossil museum!
I agree. Kimmeridge is a great place to visit, even if it can be a little tricky to find.
Thank you so much!!
Kimmeridge is amazing but as for a first time jurassic coast visit, I'd suggest Lyme Regis. It's off season so it's great to walk and if you walk east to the beach just outside of LR, there is a huge amount of fossils to find and take home.
@@yarnchild971 I’m so jealous of all you living there … happily trade any of you if you want to live in California 🥴🫠
@@thomasinajefferson9971 I'm happy to swap for a fortnight!
It seems like Chris was really thoughtful with his gifts! Good job Chris! Have so much fun on your fossil trip - I’m excited to hear about it! 🐚✨
Yes really nice presents! Big aweee!
Love the Chris Cameo, by the way Sharla, show us later what Tuna thinks of the super duper fancy mouse toy.
HE BETTER LIKE IT😂
@@sharlainjapan I am keeping my fingers crossed that he'll like it and that it doesn't turn out like the Christmas gift my cat got many years ago, one sniff and it was ignored. 😸
Its like when I bought my cat this really fancy like 10 dollar whole fish treat and he wouldn't touch it
I'm gonna miss your New Year Bags this year ....I always love watching what you score. But glad to see you're enjoying England.
Don’t worry I still managed to score some, will open when I’m back in Japan🤩
Really putting the CHRIS in CHIRStmas! Most affable time of the year!
Sharla! Next time try this marmite hack- super thin streaks on buttered toasted with a drizzle of honey all over. It's SO GOOD. Highly recommend!
Oooo ok yeah I can see that working!
Or eat it when ur blood pressure is low. 😋 I used to be on beta blockers for anxiety but then I fainted in front of the doctor... yeah he cut me off. If u have anxiety and want them eat Marmite peanutbutter before ur blood pressure is taken
Edit this is not medical advice!
I know that that marmite and vegemite are similar (I'm an Aussie, so I'm a vegemite girl) but that butter to spread ratio is perfect for vegemite! You did a good job!
I can't get down with vegemite, tried to like it but just couldn't! Marmite is awesome though!👌
Chris: "merry Christmas, love. please enjoy the cursed foods of my people. they're great init"
It brings a tear to my eye seeing a north american enjoying Marmite. You prepared it perfectly too
She's Canadian but close enough😉
@@kohakublubb if he was referring to the continent then he's right, but if not then carry on.
@@kohakublubb Read it again son, "north american"
I'm a north American and I had an Australian friend that had me try Vegemite and an Irish friend had me try marmite in college. They're very similar and I didn't love them but didn't hate it. It sort of tasted like salty molasses and I'm sure if I grew up where it was put on everything I'd have the nostalgia factor influence me liking it. I'm not really one for really bland items so it's not really something I partake regularly, but I don't see why people "badmouth" it when it's just yeast. 🤷🏻♀️.
@@kohakublubb Canadian IS North American. Wow.
Oh PLEASE do the fossil video!!! That sounds so fun! Make use of Mr. Affable and make him film you! SHOCKED he hadn’t offered yet … 🤨🤣 Have so much fun!
"I'm not sure it's the sort of thing I'd reach for..." well it's a good job you now have marmite EVERYTHING!
I lowkey love Chris's bizarre gifts. Also A++ gifts from the fam, that teapot is lovely and I've got one of those starbucks cups, I use it every day!
I love the sushi stack! 🍣 I'm like ocd for reals but like Sheldon ocd about how to eat sushi. There's a method and it's the correct way.
I just tried Marmite on buttered toast recently and am hooked. You can definitely spread it too thick, though, and the demarcation between just right and too much is so easy to cross.
The Beatrix Potter tea tin and tea pot are so cute and nostalgic!! Jemima puddle duck was one of my favorite characters as a kid!
I had miss tiggwinkle drawer handles lol
@@sarahgreefable aww the hedgehog?? That's awesome! Those must've been so cute! She was a great character too! I read those books religiously growing up!!
Your hair looks so nice, that style really suits you. It frames your face so well and it looks super soft and shiny.
You and Chris are so sweet together.
Would love to see the fossil hunting! Also the new end-card is just perfect and precious. Love it! Happy new year!
yes please do fossil hunting
Seeing Jemima Puddle-Duck on the tea tin brought back so many memories! I named my late pet duck Jemima after that book.
There are beaches in England that you can search for sea glass. It's where there used to be a glass bottle factory nearby. I would love to see the fossil hunting as well!
You added the perfect amount to the toast. Marmite takes years of getting used to :) By the time we are 5 we love it dearly on anything - you can even add it to hot water for a drink similar to Bovril (another salty treat)
Yes they used to use the advertising slogan ' the growing up spread you never grow out of ' it's so true.
Marmite is a 50:50 thing you either love it or hate it. Nobody likes their first pint of beer (or Sake etc.) but somehow we all persevered and we now all love the stuff! The fact that you didn't reject your first slice outright means that you'll probably soon be eating three in a row! 🙂
Next up: Get Chris to make you.a breakfast with soft boiled eggs and Marmite Soldiers!
Safe journey home.
Fossil hunting! I did that two years ago when I went to Somerset. I found a really pretty one and brought it home with me :)
I totally get that you love F&M - it's my all time favourite store,. Always when I go to London I go there and buy a lot of Tea and goodies and then have a scrumptious Afternoon Tea there - wonderful place.
Please film the fossil stuff. Also, your gifts were so cute! He got you such cute gifts, I loooove a man who buys jewelery.....not that I ever had one who has, but I am sure that I would. lol. And I love when you are both in the video together.
Yes to the fossil hunting vlog!
You got some lovely (and fun!) gifts for Xmas. Hope you're having a great time, here in the UK 💜💜🏴
I was pretty young when my family did the Jurassic Coast. We went to Lyme Regis or Bognor Regis (one of the Regis places) and I lugged back a full ice-cream-tub's-worth of ammonites and trilobites back up to Scotland and promtly lost them all after a show-and-tell session in Geology class. It's fantastic to do in summer, not sure about winter - good luck!
Chris went through all the emotions upon tasting that peanut butter 🤣🤣 he reminded me of the kombucha girl brittany broski hahaha. Glad you're enjoying England though, if you ever get the chance you should come up to Yorkshire! I think you'd really love York in particular
Would love to see a video on fossil hunting. Highly recommend Lyme Regis, and visiting Mary Anning's house, which is crammed with fossils, and was in a David Attenborough documentary.
Hope you both enjoy the rest of your visit to the UK, and the weather holds out for you.
Thanks for sharing your journey over the last month. Its been a great series and its really sweet to see the reaction videos of food and gifts. All the best for 2023!
Yes for fossil hunting! 😊
Fossil hunting would be so fun to watch! But I understand if you would just want to enjoy it. Happy new year!
I say this as an absolute lover of all things Marmite, the fact that you even tried it is true love. You guys are adorable 😊
The Jurassic coast is great. You should visit Swanage, it's a quaint little town where you can find fossils AND also take a steam train to the ruins of Corfe Castle.
My father in law used to own the house in the graveyard where Mary anning is buried. We used to visit there often. It would be fun to see a video on the Jurassic coast, but you do you. Hope you enjoy the trip either way 😊
Yes I would love the vlog of fossil hunting, I'm in my first year at uni for geology so I'd be looking forward for it!
Seeing the fossil beach sounds fascinating and cool. Would love to watch that video.
YESSS film the fossil trip!! We love fossil hunting. That kit looks so cool. We found a huge bag full of teeth and ammonites on a recent trip (on the North east coast) & it is soooo addictive. Have fun! Love seeing you enjoying the UK x
I'm honestly so glad to see someone try marmite properly instead of sticking an huge spoonful in their mouth, Hope you had a wonderful new year!
Yay fossil hunting vid possibly? Yes please! Also be on the lookout for little starshaped crinoid fossils, they're so cute.
The marmite was perfect! I also like that amount over Philly cheese, because it has an opposite matte texture to contrast with the glossiness. (The opposite contrast is nice too, glossy butter with matte vegemite.)
Happy New Year Sharla! I'd love to see the beach and any fossils, but my prediction is there'll be a lot of walking and little finding (but then I've never visited this beach!). Ammonites are very cool - I'm not sure why trilobites were my favourite as a kid 😬
Saaame! Love trilobites!
@@sharlainjapan ACNH really did us a solid allowing us fossils … I gift them to all my villagers and my island’s full of em 🥴🤣🦪
I never tried marmite but I find it nice that you take the time to learn how to eat it properly and gave a fair reaction to it! I feel not enough peeps on youtube does this haha Much love from Quebec :)
Marmite is also a great addition to the spice drawer. Marmite is yeast extract left over from beer making so it’s like a concentrated mallard reaction so adding some to soups stews or sautéed veggies is chefs kiss
@@SuperSarahbop omg now I gotta go buy it and try it out in soups and stews :0
@@justbruh1823 it is best in beefy oniony mushroomy soups and stews because marmite naturally has an almost bullion quality to it
@@SuperSarahbop noted! Thank you so much for the advices
As someone from Quebec too, i've been told it taste a bit similar as bovril.
What a treat this series has been , happy new year you two!
The decoy ring was so perfect!
Genius lol
That travel jewelry case is brilliant! 🤩
Would love to see the fossil hunting! It was super fun seeing what you got for Xmas 🥰
Thanks for sharing your Christmas with us Sharla, your videos are the best ❤️ Happy 2023 ✨
fossil hunting could be very cool -- Maybe you could do a laid back one (so you can be in the moment and enjoy it) and add much of the narrative later.
Yes please make another video with u and Chris doing the fossils please. More more and more of you and Chris is awesome
So glad you did marmite “right”! So many people spread it too thick, if you mix a tiny amount (about 2/3rds the amount) into the butter before you spread it, it is easier to distribute. Also try it with mayonnaise on, I swear you will love it. It changes into something amazing.
I guess since marmite is already pretty salty, you would use unsalted butter? (I'm asking since I'm from Canada and we mostly use salted butter in my home!)
@@justbruh1823 Salted is fine with Marmite. It won't affect the taste.
@@justbruh1823 I’ve always used salted butter. The butter doesn’t really change anything about it.
@@Kumahachi8 Ooh gotcha thank you! I didn't know 👀
@@pobstrel Thank you for the info!
All the brits watching Sharla enjoy Marmite on toast: ONE OF US! ONE OF US! ONE OF US! 🤣
Hunting for ammonites on the coast is honestly one of my biggest dreams! Please film if you’re able!! :D of course take some time to just enjoy yourselves too but I would so love to see a bit of footage from this part of your trip
You scored big! Some thoughtful gifts, some expensive gifts, and some silly gifts, the best combo!
Fossil hunting!! Yes please!!😊 Safe travels Sharla & Chris!!
I’d love to see you hunting for fossils! Please film it! Happy New Year!
I like seeing some cool places around England! I've always been very interested in the UK!
Fossils are SO COOL!! I'd love to see you hunting for some 💖
Just loved this ❤️! Great content, and somehow, just watching you and Chris together is cute and reminds me of all good things in life. 👌😊👍
Would always recommend trying marmite on toast with honey! It's a weird combo I discovered but the salty and sweet taste is soooo good
Is Marmite the same as Vegimite? I tried that from Australia and a very thin layer is pretty tasty! Full of vitamins if I recall.
Best present by Chris. Hope you both had an amazing Christmas and New Year!!
A thin slice of mild cheese (maybe cheddar) on hot buttered toast with a thin spread on marmite on the cheese is one of my favourite comfort food treats.
The teapot and jewelry is so cute!!Glad that you’ve been having a fun time during your travels, hope you and Chris enjoy fossil-searching 😊🦕
Scrambled eggs on Marmite toast are yummy!
Ammonite?! Yes please! I am obsessed with them. How cool there's a place you can go and just stumble upon them. Have fun! Happy New year!
The presents Chris got you were so thoughtful so happy seeing this
Thank you for sharing your holiday videos. Happy new year 2023🎉🎉🎉🎉
I am so glad you got to enjoy so much of UK whilst here. I have loved seeing you juxtaposed in uk where I don’t normally see you. ❤
The fossil adventure sounds amazing! 😍😍😍
All your video have a good and chill vibe while still being entertaining 😌
Happy New Year to you, Chris and the gang! You have so many wonderful friends!
Happy new year Sharla 🥳 I hope you and your loved ones will have an awesome year and that you all will stay healthy 🍀🍀🍀
Yea fossils!! You know we all wanna see the fossils but just enjoy your trip. Thanks for all the cool videos and bringing us along on your travels.
Happy New Year!!!! Of Course we’d like to see the fossil hunt. Wouldn’t want to miss it.
Fossil Coast would be an amazing video!
the best part of CZcams is seeing you two together just enjoying your time and sharing the moments!
Fossil hunting sounds like fun! Glad to see you having a good time in England.
You are hands down my favorite CZcamsr, I have been watching you for so many years. Happy New Year to you and yours ❤
Some delightful gifts, I especially love that pouch!
Dear Sharla, if you like Marmite on Toast (maybe it really was too much) try Marmite Pasta: Cook your pasta(I like spaghetti), reserve a few spoons of the cooking water. Melt some unsalted butter, add a small amount of Marmite & melt it in - add a spoon of pasta water and let it thicken a bit, then add the pasta. Marvelous as is or add some parmesan, too. Hooked me on Marmite! 9:06
Happy New Year to the both of you, Sharla. Hope you have a great 2023. :)
I grew up by the Jurassic coast so would be cool to see you guys visit my hometown!
Yes to wanting to watch fossil hunting vlog.
Also don't think I've said it. Happy New Year. Wishing you and Chris all the best in 2023.
Happy new year Sharla- hope you continue smiling 💜
Happy New Year! 🎉
I love that you are so enthusiastic about your presents! 😊 How are you going to be able to bring so much stuff back to Japan?
Fortnum and Mason is posh af 😁
I assume that Chris is determined to make everyone eat Marmite, lol. Re the toast, loads of butter with a little Marmite works.
I'd love to watch the fossil hunting, at least as a Patreon exclusive, please 😊
The Marmite may remain with Chris’ family😅😂
@@sharlainjapan 🤣😆
@@sharlainjapan to contaminate the Holy Marmite with peanut butter is beyond the pale!
We would love to see the fossils! Altho we also would like you to have a fun vacation, so it’s good either way 😊
Yes please film the fossil hunting! I live in England, Essex, and I've never heard of this before! 😆
When I was living in Scotland, my Irish roommate had me try Marmite straight off a spoon. I felt like I’d been poisoned. It tasted like an industrial byproduct. Toast would have probably helped a lot. I’m glad you had a better experience!
The funny thing is that it is an industrial byproduct of beer
Happy new year Sharla and Chris! I hope you find some great fossils! Yes I’d love to see what you find!
I love fossil hunting myself. Always looking for sea urchins and anything else I can find when on the beach. Honestly one of the only things I enjoy doing on the beach.
Happy New Year to you, Chris and all the family!
So would love to see the fossil hunt! Much love to you, and yours, and thanks for brightening my day
Sharla I think the Marmite gift set is exactly what you need to keep Chris in line ! Keep it secret, keep it safe ! Lol Happy 2023 🙂
Was really waiting to hear from you in the new year. Hope your 2023 is a great one! 🎉🤗🎉
