It's unfortunate that Dr Postol, several times, has to apologize for his expert opinion because of the fear that it might appear to be "pro-Putin". This is where we are now -- if you render an opinion contrary to a power structure, you automatically are classified in some enemy camp and you are advocating for that team. There is little room for clear-eyed analysis.

    • @A3racada3ra

He does not apologize for his analysis or his opinion but rather apologizes because he sometimes talks over Ryan or Emily (because of the delay).

The corollary to this psychotic set-up is that, if these well-documented , quite insane provocations by the West that Dr. Postol cites lead to a news-making retaliation by Putin (American advisors targeted and KIA in Ukraine, etc), the effing media will back up the admin's inevitable Blame Russia First/Only mentality ("See? THIS is who we're confronting here! Monster!"), and most Americans will fall the mf in line. Again.

The consequential significance of a nuclear war initiated by either side is existential obliteration. I would LOVE to see Saagar and Krystal have an interview with Annie Jacobson, author of Nuclear War. She has arguably the best data from former and current experts on this and paints a very real picture. The lack of comprehension around the risks to ALL Americans and the world as we know it needs to be brought to the forefront of your viewers eyes. Thank you for covering this.

It's crazy still how much divide there is about it.
I recently spoke with some Dutch veterans (went to Bosnia and Iraq etc.), one half thinks like i do, which is also what Dr. Postol thinks like, and the other half is willing to die for the "fatherland".
Which of the countries that are involved in the conflicts are our fatherland?
Should that not be the country that we actually live in and are born and raised in (the Netherlands)?
Shouldn't loyalty be warranted? It's like sticking up for a friend that goes around fighting with everyone.
At some point you'd have to think about why exactly this is a friend, and why exactly should you always side with them?
(i mean, i still remember the failed 2016 referendum, they were deemed too poor and corrupt, yet now they are saints, while also stealing billions but okay. Not to mention the disproportional response from that country in the newer conflict.)
But to be fair, most of the "die hard" vets are mostly just doing it for the money, and bragging rights, or blind faith.
Because it seems almost impossible to have a discussion with them about it, they shoot first, and talk later, and most of that talking consists of broad claims and empty words.
It's good to have them to carry out the orders, but not having them give out the orders.
Russia is not out to kill us, and i am certainly not going over there to kill them.
I'm not on any side, we're not getting anywhere if it _has_ to be one or the other, there should be a middle road, what is wrong about peace, truce, diplomacy?
This is more about the resources and business, than it is about the people on that land, many of which are living in hotels here now anyway.
I mean, the past decades sucked anyway, why would we want to make it even worse?
The out of touch politicians will remain to be out of touch.
We shouldn't be listening to them anymore either, there will be someone out there that will want to do the right thing.

One was Ukraine propaganda (no confirmation on this story) and the second only got superficial damage that forced it to return to base for reparations. And this was months ago. And having air control does not mean you never get hit. What he means by air control is that Russia has air superiority, they outnumber Ukraine in fighter jets, if there are any left, and have reduced air defence system to a meaningless few. Fact to back this up is that they are bombing everything to smithereens along the frontline and on all military bases and warehouses around Ukraine. FYI there is no airbase left intact for the future F-16 so they will likely will have to fly from neighbouring NATO country with all the consequences that brings.

I want explain why the death level is so high, because top militaries are learning institutions. Also they are building all the time more permanent facilities, that is airfield, barracks, rear area training facilities, radar and rocket nodes etc.

We helped facilitate the use of cluster munitions shot during daytime toward a crowded summer beach on a holiday in Russia and our response by state dept spox was basically ‘f u Russia’. Not ‘we’re investigating what went wrong in this unfortunate event and we’re saddened by the loss of any civilian life on either side of the conflict’.
