Loved the circus music ❤
Time Management is one of the most important habits we can instill in our kids before they graduate. But so so hard! Probably because we weren’t set up to master these skills before we graduated.
You’re rocking it though, mama!
Thank you! We'll get there :)
Loved hearing about how it's going with the higher levels of Math With Confidence!
Thank you for sharing! ❤️ I loved hearing about your experiences (wins and do overs).
I homeschool grades 4, 6, 7 & 9 and I use IEW and I also use EB Academics writing. I love both programs, it was great to hear your take on IEW. EB Academics has a great unit on A Christmas Carol, I would highly recommend it!
Love love love your jacket....ok back to the video.
THANK YOU! My good friend made it for me! She's amazing!
I love your videos so much! I struggled with time management as a homeschool kid and through college. I'm working on it now that I have my first Kindergartener at home to help myself and my kids. I just love you! Thank you for sharing so honestly. I heard about Math with Confidence from you and we are loving it and plan to continue.
You got this! I have grown A LOT from being a homeschool mom, and having to manage my kids as well as myself. I'm not perfect still, but I'm thankful for the growth I've had! I'm gad you are loving Math with confidence 😁
I can’t wait to do the Kind Kingdom next year!! Praying we can get into the 5th grade MWC next year 🙏
We are also in Tech Trep! I think we may be in the same state (I found you in the state Facebook group).
Also I thought the same exact thing about the learning goals about needing to do it each semester our first year! This is our 3rd year. Things get a lot easier after you get the hang of it!
That's great! Thank for the encouragement! I knew I'd be super anxious about it at first. I'm glad it gets better!
Are you liking gentle feast?
We are also in TechTrep! This is our first year, I would love to see more videos about how you are meeting learning goals. There is a huge lack of videos about programs like it, at least from what I have been able to find
That's a good idea. I don't have any plans for a video just yet, but maybe in the Fall :) I just use what I want to use with the kids, and it usually fits the Learning Goals somehow :)
Love hearing about your experience with Kind Kingdom. Do you think this works well with middle schoolers?
I love hearing how other public carter (parent partnership) type programs work in other states. I would like to hear what you get out of doing tech trek. I have to report once a month and there is really nothing specific I need to report. They want us to be moving through (however fast or slow) the curriculum they purchased for me. That and the kids take 1-2 classes a week with them (fun extracurricular classes).
Oh, that's neat! We are able to pick our curriculum, but have to report what the kids "learn" weekly. It's not too bad :) It's a nice check in that keeps me accountable. They offer classes and extra curricululars, or they pay for the classes that I pick for my kids. My kids are doing karate, piano, ninja core, typing, and a local writing class that I was able to pick and Tech Trep provided funds for :)
@@JoyfulNoiseLivingThat's super cool. We do not get our extra curriculars paid for with ours. It's so interesting that every program can be so different. Even in our area with the same laws. They all operate slightly differently.
I feel we think so much alike, and fall into the same traps as well..
If you had an upcoming kindergartener(boy😉) what would you use?
We are already doing MWC k and LOVING it..
I’m so bummed my current 3rd grader can’t do MWC! My first grader is loving it. We just can’t seem to find a good fit for the 3rd grader 😢poor kid has done 3 different math curriculums
I'm having the exact issue. My 1st grader is using MWC and we love it! We are also on our third math curriculum for my 3rd grader. Still struggling to find a fit for her. I say it almost everyday that I wish we had 3rd grade MWC!
Hi! We use an online math program called Easy Peasy Math. All of my kids love it (I have a grade K, and 2, and 3). It is free and might be a great fit 🤷♀️
I have a struggling 3rd grader and we use mwc 2 for her. I think we will just keep her a year behind in math because MWC finally works for her and she is still learning
Maybe start her on a lower grade level. She may be missing so foundations.
I know you have a video about MWC vs Right Start, but do you still prefer MWC overall? What style learners to you have? I have a kinesthetic and visual learners.
I do still prefer MWC. It was everything I was looking for from Right Start. I have active boys. One is actually auditory and the other is very kinesthetic. But math comes pretty easily for each of them. This is also a very visual, hands on math that helps visualize the concepts.
I am using MWC level 2 and I feel like the lessons take a long time. Am I the only one?
Oh man! I'm sorry :( How long are they taking? If they are taking too long, you could break them up. I've done that in the past with my kids for math. Set a timer for 15 minutes, get as far as you can in 15 minutes, then have them do the practice and review sheet on their own. I'm realizing that the lessons may go quickly for us because my 2nd grader is pretty good at math, so he catches on really quickly, and that may not be the case for other kids.
My sixth grader is doing IEW (structure and style, fix-it and phonetic zoo spelling) and Saxon 7/6 with Nicole and both have been amazing fits!
Yay! We are similar :)
