  • DIY Hack to make your Refrigerator work more efficiently and Better.
    It is important to vent the heat that your refrigerator generates while trying to keep it cold. In this video, we will install 2 fans that are thermostatically controlled. This way as the heat rises the fans will work harder to get rid of the heat. This will allow for better efficiency in keeping your refrigerator cold.

    The little computer fans are pretty handy! And quite a bit quieter 🥳

      These have ball bearings. The old cheap ones didn't so they wore out fast. But they are still working fantastic. Thanks for watching.

      I have 3 old computer fans mounted. Very quiet and they do help quite a bit in hot weather.

    We are one of your subscribers and are traveling down to the Keys in Florida… I was wondering if you have stayed in Fiesta Keys or Sunshine Keys and which one you prefer?
    We enjoy watching your videos!

      Thanks for watching and being a subscriber Sue. We have not stayed at either of these resorts yet so sorry I can't comment to that. This summer is the first time we have ventured East and in this case made it as far as Pensacola Florida as far as Florida is concerned. It is a big country and will take a while if ever to get every where. Let us know what you decide. Maybe we could even include you on our channel to do the review for others.

    I’m a part timer. When I go to store the RV. Is there a idea on how I can switch off the fan connection? Would I need to install a switch?

    • @TignerAdventures
      @TignerAdventures  Před 11 měsíci

      Thanks for watching. Well it depends on where you wire the fans into. It it is straight off the battery then yes. If it is off a fuse circuit that is shut off when you. place your rig in storage then no. It is up to you as to where you connect it. If you use a volt meter you should be able to find something that works how you want it too.

    So if you unplug the fridge from the A/C outlet it will use 12V DC ?
    Thanks

    • @TignerAdventures
      @TignerAdventures  Před 7 měsíci

      Thanks for watching. Maybe. In our case, our Fridge is a 3-way fridge. Gas, AC, and 12 Volt. If yours is a 3-way fridge then if you unplug the AC plug then it can only switch between propane or 12 volts and so yes, if you unplug it then 12 volts would be an option. However, newer units are starting to come with only 2 way or full residential. Full residential only runs on AC power. 2 Way can swap between propane or AC but they will not do 12 volts. So it depends. Good question.

    How many watts does the fan use?

    • @TignerAdventures
      @TignerAdventures  Před 4 měsíci

      Thanks for watching. It is a variable speed fan set so anywhere from .01 to .35 amps or max 4.2 watts. Remember it runs faster when it is hot out so that is when you would draw up to 4.2 watts.

    Why not use a piece of sheet metal vs cardboard?

    • @TignerAdventures
      @TignerAdventures  Před 17 dny

      You can use what ever you want as long as it can restrict the flow. Cardboard is easier to cut and less chance of getting cut. Metal is long lasting but my cardboard is doing a great job and it was free. If you are worried it might catch fire I guess that would be a reason to put metal there. But it is up above everything and should not be touching anything. Good question though.
