Sorry if this post is long, but I think Minerva is one of the most misunderstood character in the history of games and deserves a proper analysis. In a world made of black and white, Minerva is gray. She is not evil, nor a "crazy bitch" as many people say. Perhaps her fault is that of being and acting like the most realistic version of a frightened child in an absurd world in which those who are not mad sadistic murderers are instead heroes willing to sacrifice their lives for a sack of potatoes. The final character is nothing more than the result of an extremely tragic story ... Her trust in others is betrayed several times, first by her trusted friends Marlon and Broodie, then by the rest of the group who, believing her dead, abandoned her. Luckily, the presence of her sister mitigates her sense of loss and makes the survival instinct begin to find space in her thoughts. The Delta, although very different from its previous home, offered advantages that could not be ignored: safety, shelter, nourishment and stability and what it asked in return was simply to follow new rules. Furthermore, thanks to their stay, the survival of Ericson group was also ensured, which despite the betrayal still worried them. But for Sophie it was different, she could not adapt to her new life, not even having her sister close to her ... and that's why she convinces Minerva to reopen her heart and turn off her brain, trying a desperate escape.Unfortunately we know that this escape fails dramatically. Lily exploits her fear of repercussions and begins to antagonize Sophie… “She twisted my minds with lies”. Those are Lily's words, not Minerva's own thoughts, used with the aim of convincing her that the nostalgia and the desire to go home were not hers but Sophie's and that she was manipulating and putting her and all at risk because the presence of her sister alone was not enough. The fact that Minerva regrets her action is clearly understood during the narration of the parable of the twins. When Lily talks about Sophie, the expression on Minnie's face becomes full of pain, sorrow and remorse ... but towards the end when she is asked the reason for that act, this expression after a few moments of bewilderment turns into anger, and this is where Lily's brainwashing comes back into play. Whenever Minerva is called to confront what she has done, to keep herself from collapsing emotionally from the weight of her actions, she finds refuge in Lily's words that she purposely allows to rule her mind. She is aware that going back home is impossible after what she did even if she had the material chance, because in the moment she killed Sophie, she also killed a large part of her own heart and the hope to return to her previous life. But humans cannot live without proving affection toward someone and this is where the last part of the brainwash kicked in: converging all what remained of Minerva’s emotions into blind affection and devotion for his "new home" developing a sort of Stockholm Syndrome. Minerva hates Clementine because she destabilizes her beliefs and certainties and endanger her world, both the Delta and the Ericson group. And this hatred increases more and more over the course of the story, when she becomes an obstacle both for the peaceful resolution of the conflict, and in the path to be able to reunite with Tenn. Eventually when she is bitten she falls into despair. She has now lost everything: her new home, her stability, the people who had filled the void in her heart, the possibility of peaceful coexistence and ultimately her own life. The moment on the bridge represents the pinnacle of her tragic development: Lily's words have now lost all strength, while desperation and pain reign supreme. And here she sings her famous lullaby "Don’t mind the darkness". The performance of the song is full of palpable emotions: pain, fatigue, but accompanied by a veil of dramatic hope ... and it constitutes the desperate confession of Minerva's heart and real feelings. She is torn apart by both physical and mental suffering and pain at the point that she welcomes death almost with enthusiasm, considering it as the end of her agonizing existence. But she has not the courage to make that last step alone, in the cold night surrounded just by walkers who yearn for her flesh or people who despise her. And that’s where the veil of hope is hidden: the will to fight the fear of night, marching in the darkest moment of her life to seek the only light left for her in that world, the unconditional love of her beloved little brother Tenn. In the last scene, many find disturbing her “satisfaction” to see her brother death but I don't think it's satisfaction, but rather relief. Relief of being able to tear away from the clutches of that world without mercy, a pure creature as little Tenn (sparing him the grief she had experienced). But also the relief of not being alone anymore and the conviction to be together forever from that moment with nothing able to separate her from him of whom she seeks contact until the very last moment by extending her hand while being devoured.
You defend her saying what she did as it being she doing the right thing people know her story and they feel for her some a little less than others but her killing her sister was very wrong just to prove her loyalty to a bunch of murderers who only care about taking from others. Yes Minerva went through some terrible fucking shit but so did her sister "Sophie" who didn't "Adapt" to that life because what that group was doing was straight out wrong and they kidnap kids to fight their war so they can steal from other survivors and kill others for what they have so they can live. Yes thats called survival and yes that life involves zombies so survival is key in that world and in every world. But you don't have to kill and steal from others to survive that's why trading exists and the delta wasn't up for trading they take and take and hurt everyone in there path and to you who say MInnie was misunderstood no she wasn't by some people the good people like sophie and clementine and the Ericson group they are good minnie was evil for what she did and she let her emotions get the best of her and instead of taking responsibility for killing her sister just so she can still live she blamed clementine for all of it when in reality clementine never killed sophie minnie did and it was also extremely selfish for minnie to want tenn to die with her because it was only because she knew she was dying and wanted to be with him even if it meant him dying and as tenn isn't afraid of dying he can still live on like the scene with clementine and AJ as shes about to die from the zombie bite clementine doesnt tell AJ to die with her in fact theres an option for her to tell AJ to live for her so while you say Minnie is misunderstood we all saw the evil in her and even if part of her did feel guilt for killing her own sister she still did it and wanted to take her brother down with her and blamed clementine for all the mistakes and messed up things she did instead of "Atoning" her wrong doings for the bad things she has done.

This hands down was one best games to ever exist. With so many twists and turns and sad moments this game has brought us, we love it and have a special place for it in our hearts. Im glad that this game has brought us all joy and happiness, heck they even involved a part where Clem could be could choose what sex she liked.

Imagine a good ending where Clem didn't get bit, Minerva helps them escape, but both she and Ten get bitten, so they stay at the barn and she sings that to both calm her little brother and atract the walkers.
I cant stop think of clem and lee they are one of the reasons I got into gaming and seeing how far they have come makes me sad I love the walking dead. I hope they make a little show or a movie but... for now we have the story

This hands down was one best games to ever exist. With so many twists and turns and sad moments this game has brought us, we love it and have a special place for it in our hearts. Im glad that this game has brought us all joy and happiness, heck they even involved a part where Clem could be could choose what sex she liked.
