    I bought a Tactix 7 pro and never regrets it. I used it 24/7 even when I sleep. I used it for my MTB riding in trail. I used it to hike and travel overseas. Maps works great anywhere. Best of all, i don’t have to charge it daily. Awesome watch. Never need any other watch since.

      I’m with you there… the battery was one of the biggest selling points for me. Whether a run, hike, or ride I find it useful for all kinds of tracking… the sleep part and readiness is nice too. Thanks for watching!

      It’s defiantly a solid watch packed with functionality, if your going to get use out of the additional features that are above and beyond the Fenix 7X Sapphire. Good luck in the search!

    • @TheOutdoorWorkshop
      @TheOutdoorWorkshop  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Absolutely agree, the battery life alone is huge when compared to other smart watches. And that’s just the beginning of what sets it apart. Add in the off-line maps, flashlight, and sleep / activity tracking - knowing what I know now I would find it hard to find a comparable watch. Thanks for checking out the video!

    Would be good if you could have done a video on how the watch operates in stealth mode 🤔

    • @TheOutdoorWorkshop
      @TheOutdoorWorkshop  Před rokem

      Thanks for watching! The stealth mode doesn’t restrict too much on the watch. It does cut any signals, so if you use navigation it won’t update anything and your Bluetooth enables apps won’t update either.

  • @0zfer

    What is required to use the ballistics functions? Data connection, special sensors? Does this require the user to manually enter it all? If this is the case I don't see how this is better than a ballistics app on the phone. What does the extra $300 get us the $30 phone app doesn't?

    • @TheOutdoorWorkshop
      @TheOutdoorWorkshop  Před 2 lety +3

      Data connection is only required to set up you ballistic table initially. You can enter manually but most of it is auto populated by the app once you do the initial baseline configs. I personally wouldn’t use this over an app, as I currently have one I use that is easier to manipulate with variable factors like wind and humidity. The only time this would be useful would be in an actual tactical setting where your phone is not practical. I wouldn’t upgrade to this for just that feature, unless you fall into that specific niche or if your also interested in some of the other flight / tactical features.

    • @EuroS50
      @EuroS50 Před rokem

      It can also link with certain rangefinders and weather sensors (like kestrel). Those inputs go straight into the watch and are calculated in the applied ballistics app on the phone.

    Hello, is it possible to use the ballistic function for an AR15 16' in .223 caliber? for shooting at 300 or 400m. Thank you

    • @TheOutdoorWorkshop
      @TheOutdoorWorkshop  Před 4 měsíci +1

      In theory, it should work, after using it a few times I ended up going back to the ballistic Calculator app that I was using prior to purchasing this watch. It had a lot more features available and was easier to input custom data when working up loads.

      It’s a solid choice and feature packed, especially if you use the ballistic or other high end functions that come with this version! My first smartwatch was the apple for about a year… after trying the garmin there is no going back. Between the battery life, storage, and features I can’t see me changing companies any time soon. Hope you enjoy as much as I do!

      @@TheOutdoorWorkshop yeah I’ve never had a smart watch before dude ! So I’ve just placed my order now for the ballistic version
      I think it would be a good choice for me. Especially back on range,
      I could try it out. I’m curious if it’s waterproof though.
      I heard about Apple trying to compete with garmin but I’ve not seen anyone I know with garmin all Apple.
      I appreciate your videos on my decision !

    • @TheOutdoorWorkshop
      @TheOutdoorWorkshop  Před rokem +1

      I had an Apple Watch for years. It was good for integration with the iPhone and some of the apps, but doesn’t come close to the Garmin when it comes to outdoor and indoor activities. Battery life was only a day or less with apple and Garmin lasts nearly a month so that was selling point two that will keep me with Garmin. Ballistics are good for a watch, but more than likely if you’re just hanging out at a range the app base to calculator is probably what you’re gonna look at. If you have everything dialed it on the app, the watches great if you were out hunting or in the field and need to reference without pulling out your phone. Enjoy!

    Can anyone tell me the difference between tactix 7 (the best variant , I think 7 pro ) and tactix delta ?

    • @TheOutdoorWorkshop
      @TheOutdoorWorkshop  Před měsícem +1

      Garmin Tactix 7 offers a modern design with a touchscreen, enhanced tactical features, an integrated flashlight, and updated health monitoring.
      Garmin Tactix Delta lacks the flashlight and touchscreen, featuring traditional button controls, classic tactical features, but still has comprehensive mapping and navigation tools.
      Both watches are built to military standards and share many tactical features, but the Tactix 7 introduces newer technologies and conveniences.

    Does the watch have to be turned on for the solar power to help battery drain or can it be left off to help recharging

    • @TheOutdoorWorkshop
      @TheOutdoorWorkshop  Před rokem +1

      Nope, Watch will charge while off. Garmin actually states it will charge faster. I have noticed the Fenix gain about 3% while wearing it outside for a few hours, after it died. It does have some safety feature built in to avoid overheating so if you left it in direct sunlight laying out you could have some issues with a dark watch heating up. Wearing it worked ok for me.

    hello, what is the numbers on the edge of the bezel starting from 02 04 06 up to 24?

    • @TheOutdoorWorkshop
      @TheOutdoorWorkshop  Před 2 lety +4

      Some military / tactical watches provide 24 hour on the fourth hand to give you the hours of the day in 24 hour format. I believe there is a watch face you can download which will do the same. So when your first and second hand show 4:00 pm, the forth hand would show 1600. That’s my best guess as I don’t think you can display a different time zone on the 4th hand on Garmin downloadable faces. Hope that helped and was on the right track!

      You don’t need a phone with this watch. If you have your maps downloaded you can use every navigation feature I can think of… same for workouts and music. You can use your phone to see and do additional details like stats from workouts, routes, and downloading things like courses, music, workouts and other DLC. Hope that answers your question! Anything in specific otherwise? Thanks!

      There is stealth mode to cut the location and sharing features. It’s hard to find any smart device in modern times that doesn’t have that as a possibility whether it’s a cellphone or a watch. If that’s an important feature, I loved my SUUNTO Core, which is as close as you can generally get to a feature packed smart watch without connections, great for controlled areas where that is a concern
