So i get from 1-2 calcium stones a month, now granted there have been months i have gone without getting any, but i have had these since i was 23. i usually can pass them without hospital visits but there have been many times i can not stand the pain and go. I am pretty good at tracking the passing of these stones from start to finish, wish these would go away these affect so much of my life from eating to drinking to just exercising or a walk with the wife.

      here's several suggestions worth trying
      drink plenty of water.
eat watermelon - this can prevent kidney stones naturally.
try taking pomegranate seeds and drink coconut water - these help reduce kidney stones .
avoid tomato, cucumber, spinach and fizzy drinks.
(I learned these and the reasons they work on caths remedy answer site )

Just came back from the ER, I get recurring kidney stones every year, and this one was the biggest at 8mm for me. At this point I've had so many that even though the pain is the same, I'm able to drive myself to the hospital so long as I stay calm and take deep breaths. Had to stay overnight, they gave me a JJ-stemp, some antibiotics, and sent me home the next day. To anyone who's never had a kidney stone, god I envy you.

10 days ago I figured out my horrible and crippling joint pain was due to my VERY Green smoothies! First time I have had no pain in two years. My smoothies were an entire batch of Collard greens, an entire bag of Spinach, Kale, raspberries, blueberries, collagen powder....I would have almonds with it. I even had pieces of stones floating around my knees causing terrible pain. I stopped all of it, and am now pain free. It is literally a miracle.

Thanks for the highly informative video. I had a kidney stone in 2013. I haven't had one since, thank God, but I am always wary about what I eat how much I drink. At the time of my infliction, I thought I was living a healthy life. I went to the gym three to four times a week, my meals were relatively balanced, and I drank primarily water. But I should add that this was also a very stressful period in my life. A new job overseas awaited me and I was to be wed shortly before my departure. I believe all of this became a bit overwhelming for me and manifested itself into a kidney stone. Perhaps the cause might not always be one's diet. Sometimes the reason could be psychosomatic.

Since so many foods contain oxalates it seems to come down to moderation in eating. Rather than label any one food verboten, eating smaller portions overall seems to make more sense. Besides, Americans tend to eat supersize portions of nearly everything. Take, for example, the smoothie makers who go through a 1/2 bag of spinach a day. Thanks much for your video.

My story is I have had four hospitalizations for severe sepsis but MDs couldn’t find source. After the third time it was determined to be a 6mm kidney stone caught in the tube going from the kidney to the bladder. It was removed by Dr. Bennett. I am asymptomatic for kidney stone pain, and had a fourth episode a year later. I’m on low dose nitrofurantoin and diet, so this visual method of learning was helpful!

Amazing you don't have the pain from a kidney stone (or repeated nausea and vomiting copious amounts of food...it's fun doing it while getting a CT scan). I know in some instances, pain is good. However, after suffering twice the pain of childbirth without a cute little baby to reward you...I just might trade you for that four day period.

Interesting... Had Calcium Oxalate stones for over 12 years, averaging about 1 stone a year. Tried most everything with no success. Gave Keto a try 2 years ago - went mostly carnivore... my uric acid levels stay around 5.0 and haven't had a kidney stone since. Lucky me I guess. I agree with most in this video, but absolutely couldn't disagree more with the animal protein. Best my blood work has been since I was in my early 20s is right now (45 now). It may not work for everyone but I sure am thankful I'm one of the ones it has.

@TRUST first stone was surgically removed. Second stone I passed on my own, but I needed some medication to pass it as well as pain medication. It was very painful and took some time to pass, but once in my bladder it was easy from there. I think surgery was a worse experience for me personally.

    • @eseskay99
      @eseskay99 Před rokem +1

@TRUST - I passed 14 little stones each with a diameter of 2 mm or less. This was totally painless. Now, I was lucky because I had Extracorporal Sound Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL). I highly recommend you try this method because it was totally non-invasive, no stent was needed and painless. There was some blood in the urine on day one. But no pain.

good question. animal protein tends to contain a lot of sulfar containing amino acids that when metabolized causes a state of acidosis in your body. the body compensates by essentially increasing the amount of calcium in the body which then leads to more calcium excretion in the urine.

hi uberprep, if you can just eat calcium rich foods, that's usually the best. you are correct in that calcium can bind the oxalates in your diet. sometimes people are told to actually cut out calcium in their diet, which doesn't help. Here's a great article by the National Kidney Foundation that goes into a little bit more detail. www.kidney.org/atoz/content/calcium-oxalate-stone

Well done example. What popped out at me first and foremost was that when adding the meat there was no oxalate listed because it’s insignificant. Yet, most of the advice that doctors give their patients is to avoid animal meat.
We live in a world where we tend to believe in advice from authorities who are continuously giving us the exact opposite dietary advice to what would actually make us healthy and cure us of diseases.

    • @dfinite4089

I understand why that was previously the advice given based on theory and assumptions but that’s now a well disproven myth with recent metabolic understanding and evidence.
Doctors who no longer wish to learn beyond their original programming (mis-training) either haven’t caught up yet or refuse to reverse their previous advice for fear of reprisal.
That said, if your patient has kidney damage it might be good advice to moderate ALL protein not just animal protein.
It’s also important to understand that animal fat and protein (eaten in the absence of carbs and unnecessary fiber) is actually easier to digest and more bioavailable for people with a healthy gut than is plant protein.

I’m aware that some hack researchers with dubious funding designed a study where they chose to make an assumption that TMAO was linked to cardiovascular disease. However, that was not evidence based, lab based nor was the study even long enough to track any meaningful data to find any cause and effect. Then Beyond Meat took that study and shouted it to the rooftops as “evidence” that their fake meat is better.
TMAO is the same TMAO that humans have had for over a million years without cardiovascular disease. That disease has risen steadily and sharply from the moment people started eating seed oils.
How can faux meat have better ingredients than beef which is 1 ingredient?

I often eat the Whole Foods 365 brand Organic Wheat Bran Flakes cereal. It has organic whole wheat, with organic wheat bran. There are only 3 grams of cane sugar but 125mg of salt. I usually combine this with Uncle Sam Cereal which has toasted whole wheat berry flakes with added flax seeds and barley malt with less than 1 gram of sugar per serving. Do you suggest I stop eating these cereals?

Blend a whole lemon in 12oz of distilled or spring water and drink it everyday or squeeze a whole lemon in 12oz of water. Drink another 4oz of water to rinse your mouth. Make sure to get a high amount of vitamin A. Also take D, calcium, magnesium and potassium. Few people know that you have to have vitamin A for D to be more available and effective

I think it may be 1331 mgs for essentially one serving of each of those items listed in combination - whether that comes out to an entire bowl of material (it's probably more than just a bowl) is hard for me to say, but it's definitely not the whole pot. For instance, one serving of uncooked spinach (1 cup) gets you to 676 mg of oxalates alone.
