Definitely ready to see some insight
I will be there when I’m good at it and winning and of course all the money but not when I’m loosing.
I wish people can understand how hard a professional tennis player (and any athlete) has to work to keep playing at such a high level. Naomi is an inspiration and she has done an amazing job!
You have given a life to do so much, and you choose to play a sport for quater of your life and then you want us to applause for you.
WHY??
Indeed.
@@Vision_Voyagers you're dismissing that people applaud because they enjoy watching sports. And they don't just wake up in the morning and are instantly good at it. They work. That's the way they feed themselves and are able to their enjoy life. Is as important as being a doctor or scientist? No. But they do contribute in their way.
They make too much to be complaining
@@Vision_Voyagers Do you not understand how much hard work all this takes?
The reason that some people cannot accept Naomi vocally speaking out about her mental struggle is because they have the illusion that “success” will cure any mental problems. “Successful person cannot have mental struggles, so Naomi must have other bad motivations.” Well, the reality is, success usually makes people harder to reach out, thus amplify their mental struggle.
Well said. For other examples, refer to the life of Kurt Cobain, Robin Williams, Philip Seymour Hoffman... (the list is uncomfortably long)
So why dont male tennis players, F1 drivers, football players have the same issues? She is paid millions to just talk and hit a ball and she should count her blessings for her success and the media plays a role into making her millions and making her famous its part and parcel of the game .Female tennis has always been overrated and now they are paid equal to complain about the media? Where is roger, nadal ,Joker complaining about the media after loosing in 5 sets and 4 hours vs 1-2 hour match 3 sets no sweat and effort. She is spoiled and being a brat.
@@samirjaved83 I agree with a lot of your points. Her handling of the press conferences was not a good look, very spoilt. This is why I love Ash Barty she just gets down to business.
Would rather listen to Robin Lehner talk about Bipolar, ADHD or Brandon Marshall about Borderline Personality Disorder tbh
So if the success is so difficult for her then why not stop playing professional tennis?
When a child grows up to only pursue sports it’s hard for her to identify yourself outside of it
I Get it.
Peter Sagan world champion said years ago in a private Slovak interview that the regeneration of the body is important for every athlete. .. He didn't blame the press he blamed only the busy schedule of the press conferences..But he said it quietly without complaining..He only said the negative effect of the popularity that he dreams about having 2 months for himself, in some cottage just to train and cook.... He never got it. that he has no time to regenerate the muscles for another race etc. because right after the training he goes to conferences and interviews... then to another training etc So maybe the press could be more understanding toward all athletes and Top Athletes who have busy training and the same day have also interviews and conferences.... as Peter Sagan said years ago but he didnt says it worldwide so the media could blame him. If he would say it worldwide the media would blame him. Imagine if these athletes have to work as some horses and never go to vacation after the busy trainings and conferences and the stupid press are so spoiled because they only judge people.

“what if i am not good enough at tennis?”
*wins 4 grand slams and still has doubts*
tennis players have extraordinary mental strength and naomi’s strength towards her mental struggles is magnificent. she’s remarkable.
What's wrong with this 21st century. It's not like mental problems didn't exist earlier. But I guess it's the 24*7 media attention that's putting such stars under pressure. The cancel culture is also responsible for this. People while having maximum freedom to speak are not speaking due to fear of political incorrectness.
Sucha huge achievements, and if she is struggling through it, it's not a small thing. This is serious
Women’s grand slams are easy
@@dss6838 i 100% agree with you. it takes a lot for tennis players in particular to push through important matches and naomi started winning as soon as she started the hard court slams. the mental strength is important. she has 4 grand slams and still doubts herself, this is serious. of course mental health problems existed earlier, but they weren’t taken seriously earlier, now people are finally prioritising it.
@@strikerbowls791 i take it you’re a man? because only a man with zero respect for women in sports would say women’s grand slams are easy. they’re very hard for the women involved, they dedicate their entire lives towards these events. it’s quite disrespectful of you to dismiss their hard work like that.

@@markestevenfederis1614 Frr Serena needed to be humbled
This is why I respect every athlete. Most of the time people call Serena Williams names and all kind of things
You can imagine what these women go through just to play that good ?
Every athelete has a story some goes way deeper than Serena's everyone struggles some more than other, calling name is bad, but so is acting mighty and entitled.
Sorry but I've little respect for Serena no matter what people think of me for saying it.
To earn respect you have to demonstrate it, she never did.
Naomi is a different story completely, I've never known her to disrespect anyone.
She needs to stop all those photos shoots and just focus on her tennis.
She could learn a thing on two from Ashleigh Barty, stay grounded and appreciate the sun coming up every morning.
If I were her I would get herself and her family out of the States and move to a different country where she's away from all that commercial nonsense.
I will not be watching this.
@@patrickfarrell5092 Well winning more than 20 Grand Slams is more than enough to earn my respect
@@hiiiiiiii8440 and what about respect for your fellow man or woman? Sometimes you have to examine the person inside instead of the success. Are you condoning her behaviour at the US Open? Did she demonstrate any form of respect to Osaka when she was clearly outplaying her? Or to the grounds staff?
This had been her MO for many years and became she's Serena she gets away with it.
So we will agree to disagree but I judge a player by human qualities and not by how many slams they have.
Look at Angelique Kerber, a Wimbledon champion and a proper lady that everyone should aspire to be like, Barty the same.
I see the likes of Coco Gauff as someone who has been influenced by Williams as demonstrated at the French Open. She's setting a very bad precedent for younger players.
The carry on by Williams over the years has been nothing short of cheating, in European football terms she would have been red carded on many occasions, I for one will be glad to see the back of her and I'm not alone with that mindset.

She is too complicated. This questions should not be said. Can we imagine how many players who considered as not good player and still fight to be a good player? Naomi should show and help those kind of players, not being over thinking. She is what she is now because of tennis and pers! No doubt!
If your existence is just your profession, your life is going to be very difficult. Naomi Osaka's mental health struggles are a great example of that.

@@rainunderthesun2 Do the people that like her not see the hypocrisy of her modelling for bikini companies and starring in a Netflix special whilst at the same time claiming to be too shy and depressed to do post-match interviews? It's like me giving an interview about being terrified of the sea from the beach.
@@miles3379 no hypocrisy because this is what she is doing on her own terms and not the terms of someone else. Not sure why that’s such a complex idea for people to grasp. She controls her narrative this way.
@@Haymanotify Everybody who works and gets paid by an employer has to follow certain rules. That's the way of the world. Her employers - indirectly - are the tennis associations, tournament organisers and their sponsors as that is where the money comes from. If she wants to control her own narrative and do exactly what she wants rather than what she has to then she needs to stop playing in other people's tournaments and accepting the prize money. This is the way of the world. We don't live in some hippy utopia where we get to do and say what we want when we want but still have somebody else pay us. If you enjoy the tune then you have to pay the piper - the real world.
I think that Naomi Osaka is going to be a great tennis player, and taking time to regroup her mental stability is a noble and refreshing step. I am looking forward to seeing her in the Olympics and many more tennis matches, but for now I think she needs some good people who can help her hand difficult pressures and achieve her goal as a great tennis player. Not only that, but I am so proud of you, Naomi Osaka, and I am rooting for you.
speaking about the pressure of being the best is so much harder than one thinks, especially when one’s reputation revolves solely on “being the best”. idgaf if naomi’s rankings drop, as long as she’s happy and comfortable, she will always be my favourite women’s tennis player
Finally Gonna reactivate my Netflix subscription again
i don’t know much about tennis but this honestly looks really good. time to take a dive into the tennis world i suppose
A dive you won’t regret. Her story is so deep and people are trying to make her a villain. Serena Williams inspired her to play tennis as well and is her idol so take a loot into Serena’s documentary’s too. I promise you, it is so inspiring.
Perfect timing! Anyone who didn’t know the name Naomi Osaka now knows it coz of the French Open and talk radio last month. Can’t wait to watch this 💕
amazing beautiful behind the scenes of her life and family , on the court and off the court what she really goes through away from the game of tennis i wanna see if i can watch this at some point
paving the way for the new generation of athletes. proud of who you are and what you do, Naomi!
We are all proud of you in Haiti Naomi Osaka, love you so much.
Go for it Osaka, either you decide to keep playing or not, you're already an awesome soul.
Superb documentary about an amazing athlete & an intriguing human being!
Can’t play in one of the few major events that she’s required to play in to be considered a big player because of the anxiety around interviews and press. Volunteers to have camera crew follow her around and film her life…
EXACTLY! You seen her Insta? She models for bikini companies too! Definitely the first gig I'd sign up to if I was shy and riddled with nerves. It hurts my head to see that the vast majority of people seem to love her and not see through it. You and me, my friend, are two of the special few that didn't tell the Emperor they loved his new clothes!
@@miles3379 I agree. I cannot comprehend what people love about her. Her hipocrisy?
@@MajklAstarin Ha ha, let's face it, she ticks every box the left adore. Diversity, female, mental health, etc. She's like a snowflake's wet dream.
I love Naomi's character.
It tears me up.. and it’s just the trailer. How much more the whole documentary..
This most certainly will be better than Ariana Grande’s documentary. But I haven’t given that a fair watch. I don’t want to if it’s just her tour behind the scenes... Naomi’s looks much more in depth and personally reflective.
We love you Naomi🥰🥰. Please come back and keep being an inspiration to all the young female tennis players out there.🥺🥺🥺
Sooo she’s trying to stay away from the media, but she is putting herself in the middle of a media production. Totally makes sense.
The first isn't voluntary while the second is. You should be allowed the choice.
this will only exacerbate the issue though and create more media attention
This probably finished production before her decision was made to stop answering press questions
which begs the question, was that all just a publicity stunt for this documentary?
How can she have a Netflix documentary before Serena who has won 23 GS?!
Think of it as a business. Emotions always weight more than logic. Even you as a person who try to capitalize on her (Osakas) hype if you were in position to. Not that Serena hasn't accomplished way more, life is just not fair.
@A.N. G well Naomi doesn’t have 23 GS, there are plenty of tennis players that have more than her. Even nadal doesn’t have any series or Djokovic who are GOATs….
@@anneneville6255 Watch the documentary, it's clearly not about being a GOAT
She is a legend in the making.
Nobody in the history of the women’s game has played the game at the level of Naomi Osaka when she is at her best. She singlehandedly raised the level of the entire WTA and brought a new era of tennis. She is still relatively young but she will no doubt be the GOAT.
Nah she won't get close to Serena. Serena has something Naomi doesn't. Mental toughness and perseverance.
@Vairagya exactly. Tbh Emma Radacanu will probably end up with more slams than Osaka. She has grit
Hopefully people that were quick to judge her will understand why things happened and respect her decision.
Or maybe she did it to help promote this documentary lol
@@VK-ds2dw Or maybe she like millions have anxiety, depression or some form of a mental health issue 😱
@@AB_15 yet she's fully capable of performing in the upcoming Olympics, is in ads constantly for her sponsors and created this documentary, that will lead to even more attention being brought her way (both positive and negative). Totally makes sense for a person who supposedly has those issues.
We're not talking about a retired athlete here, like say Scottie Pippen.
@@VK-ds2dw I didn't know you had a PhD and a practice where you regularly worked with clients who had mental health conditions. You should pat yourself on the back for diagnosing behaviors whilst looking from the sidelines. Also, ads take months to conceptualize, shoot and produce. Documentaries take years like this one which started being shot in 2019.
It's much different than sitting in a room with dozens of mostly old white male reporters trying to fish for a quote. Did you know after she WON her 2nd grand slam, the first question she was asked was how she felt about there always being "drama" anytime she's in a slam final?
You probably didn't because understanding mental health and how it affects people differently would actually require you to have more than one brain cell.
She’s so relatable
Yesssss
yes a 23 yo tennis champion with 50million in the bank is relatable to everyone lol
@@AlexanderAntonopoulos I know you know that’s not what I meant
@@AlexanderAntonopoulos haha exactly. Why do people look up to mega rich sports people? They have nothing in common with them.
