    Maybe I'm alone in this, but if you purposely use the wrong ink, you're a bad artist, no matter your graphical skill level. It feels like basic knowledge right next to a sterile work environment, knowing your ink.

    • @ItsMuffinTimePls
      @ItsMuffinTimePls Před 8 měsíci

      And then to double down and act condescending when people point out that you're wrong... "Cosmetic ink and regular ink are the same" Uhh, no the hell they aren't Daisy. Just like not all rectangles are squares, not all tattoo ink is _cosmetic_ ink. She's rude *and* she's stupid, which is a bad combination when she's got a needle and is coming at your face with the wrong pigments.

    • @Pugetwitch
      @Pugetwitch Před 8 měsíci +31

      She's not using the wrong ink. They want colorful tattoos on their face, so she's using the right inks that will provide long-lasting pigment. They don't want them to fade away and disappear like with cosmetic inks that will eventually break down over time, such as permanent eyeliner, lips, and eyeshadow. I could understand if she was getting that type of work done, eyeliner for instance, or her lips, then the artist would be facetious in stating she's using cosmetic tattooing because that would require an ink that would fade, unless the client specifically wanted a permanent ink. But when you say that you're getting rainbow tattoos, I don't even think that cosmetic ink comes and rainbow colors, does it? When I went to check out the options for eyeliner 10 years ago it was basically just muted colors, neutrals and grays, browns and some shades of navy. I didn't see any bright greens or reds or anything like that, in fact they didn't have green or red at all because I wanted a burgundy eyeliner and they were not able to offer that so I didn't get it.

      @DRAMAKEKEI agree with you. Off topic, I wonder why somebody would want the area around their nipples bigger? I have very small ones, in fact I have none, just perky nipples and I love them😂 but to each their own, I guess it's the same reason why girls want bigger boobs. I'm happy to have mine at my age look as good as they do, especially after nursing two babies.😂 I need to research more about making my own ink. I'm 43 years old, and back in 1991 I gave myself a heart tattoo on my hand😅 back then of course it was black, now it's faded very deep blue and looks like a freckle, ironically 😂😂 but that's what happens when you hang out with kids at a trailer park and are exposed to their adult mentors that have prison gangs tattooed all over their body and have no problem telling kids what India ink and needle and thread are about😂 My dad saw some of the other tattoos I had given myself at that age when I was 14. He finally saw what I was managing to hide skillfully for so long... And he immediately took me to minor and James here in Seattle, where there was a dermatologist clinic and the man gave me three (laser removal, back when the guns went BAP! BAP! BAP! slow as fuck and hurt more than getting the tattoo, plus the smell of burnt flesh ta boot was "rad" 🙃🙄) sessions and my tattoos were all gone. Luckily my dad allowed me to keep the heart! 10 out of 10 would do it again😂 I was actually just thinking about doing a little stick and poke rune, or something, sigil or some sort that I'll make. I'm Saami and feeling compelled to do some self work for my ancestors.

      I also feel like because of the range of different colors, rainbow freckles usually look the most visually appealing on people with super even skin tones. Some shades, especially the red and purple, can accentuate the appearance of conditions like acne, hyperpigmentation, and blotchiness (unless the freckles are placed super strategically, hence your comment). And I say this as a person with all of the above lol

    I think tattoo artists need to stop using the label "Cosmetic Tattooing" unless that's what they're actually doing. There's nothing wrong with getting rainbow dots tattooed on your face, but these clients need to know that is all it is. Without the correct ink, placement, and depth, it's just a normal tattoo. Not freckles, not cosmetic tattooing, not something that will fade and look "natural". Just rainbow dots on your face.

      Yes exactly!! I also feel like for me for a face tattoo you need to make sure that they actually want it or are okay with it staying on them for a long time or forever. Sometimes that ink that fade doesn’t work.
      There is also the fact that aesthetics are a super big thing now and lots of people who are super into the internet aesthetics stuff say they regret their tattoos because it doesn’t fit their new look now.
      This is def a specific style that I feel like is influenced by social media and I worry that dumbing it down like you said saying it’s cosmetic makes it feel like it’s only for now only for while this style is in but the reality of tattoos is that sometimes even if it’s the right ink it doesn’t fade!

    • @tezzanoia

      I think calling it rainbow freckles is fine, as the look of dots splattered around your face does resemble what freckles look like, just not in a natural way. If someone said that vs rainbow dots around the face, I'd have a much easier time to understand and imagine what they mean. That said, calling it cosmetic when using regular ink is pretty shitty, telling people it'll fade when it probably won't, at least not completely, is not okay and totally deceptive

    If you’re getting rainbow freckles, you probably want to look colourful and have them stand out. Its a unique choice that not everyone will understand. It’s different than getting regular freckles tattooed for them to look natural & blend in. She shouldn’t say they’ll fade over years, they’re def permanent due to the ink!

    Tattoos aside, I do not like Daisy Lovesick. She was known many years ago on Tumblr and CZcams as Daisy Lola, and she made a lot of content about body modifications, storytimes, and her previous career as a dancer. I used to watch her content religiously in high school but now that I’m in my twenties I realize that she had a very mean girl personality.
    She was always very rude and harsh to her commenters and quick to paint their questions as offensive or problematic even when they weren’t. She was very quick to accuse others of being racist, sexist, or LGBTQ-phobic even though miss girl had one or two tattoos that could be interpreted as offensive, at least by 2016 standards. And it’s not like she was sorry about it either. She was also very rude to Lauren of the CZcams channel Treacle Tatts and accused her of gossiping about her and sucking up to her even though Lauren just really liked Daisy’s content as another heavily tattooed woman. When Daisy deleted her CZcams channel and got popular as a cosmetic tattoo artists I was surprised but happy for her, but now it’s come out that she hires shitty artists who can’t even do a straight line. Her husband also works at the tattoo shop and is super rude so tldr; fuck Daisy Lovesick lol.

      I used to be a HUGE fan of her in high school, and commented on almost every video. We definitely had a weird sort of parasocial relationship. She would usually respond, usually pretty sweet, and would say I was mature for my age and smart and whatnot. Once I was 18 and she was probably 25-26 she followed me back on Twitter. Every once in a while she’d check in and ask how college was going, and I thought it was so cool. But sometimes she’d also subtweet me? Or the things I posted? Being very snarky and I remember feeling like if she didn’t want to see the things an 18 year old posts she shouldn’t have followed me back, or should have muted me, because it kind of sucked to have your favorite CZcamsr subtweet snarky things about stuff you post.
      Like I jokingly responded to a tweet my friend posted calling him a hoe. And then she made a post saying the word hoe belonged to the black community and it wasn’t educational, it was very rude, and I felt really bad. I didn’t say that word for years but for years, but it’s been probably 5 years since then now and I’ve never heard anybody else say that and I’ve never seen a white person get in trouble for saying hoe, she definitely gets on her high horse about social justice when it is convenient for her.
      I remember from her videos back in the day, she said she had borderline personality disorder, and I do too so I sympathize with her a bit and see where some of her attitude and behavior comes from.
      But at the same time, it sucks to get older and see someone who I looked up to so much (partially because of our parasocial relationship) is actually not just a little opinionated, but straight up rude

    Gonna sound like an old lady, but it's totally true that a lot of people don't know what they're getting into with face tattoos. I don't have any face tattoos, but I have full sleeves and some hand tattoos, and the staring, touching, questions, and general attitude towards me is not always something I want to deal with. Face tattoos are another level. Some of these you could only hide with a ski mask. I think it's better to start small and slow with tattoos. You change a lot in your teens and early 20s. A lot of the tattoos I got I wouldn't get now. I've had 3 lasered off, and 2 others covered. If you're thinking of getting a face tattoo, especially rainbow freckles, try makeup first and see how it goes over in various situations. Your tastes change over time and I'm so glad all my tattoos are black and grey (they go with everything)

I see this a lot online: people getting procedures or buying products "for themselves" or "to be themselves" but they are heavily influenced by online culture and a capitalist sense of "being myself" (=spending money to be yourself and "yourself" always changing according to trends). I mean, that's normal these days and fine I guess. And rainbow freckles are one of the more harmless trends in my opinion. I think it's fine to love these trends but it's also fine to criticize them. Rainbow ones though that are told to "fade" idk. We just had that one company utterly fail at making "fading ink" for tattoos. So I wouldn't trust colorful freckles to fade better than normal brown/black freckle tats. It's shady on that part. They're meant to stand out as a tattoo usually does, I think if you're going for tattoos you should be ready to have permanent art on you. On the other, her clients saw her work, chose her, and chose to get the tattoos - rainbow or otherwise. At what point do we, as people getting tattoos, have to take some responsibility when it comes to research and what we choose to get?

    They're not for everyone for sure. I'm a strong believer in not tattooing your fave, hands or neck until you have at least a sleeve or several medium or bigger tattoos. A lot of the time they can be job stoppers. My employer is extremely lenient with tattoos, piercings and hair colour. They still have limits though because we work with families that may not be okay.
    No face tattoos is one of those rules. Cosmetic tattoos are fine, we're talking anything that will immediately be noticed as a tattoo. Rainbow freckles are a no go. Regular freckles are fine though as it still looks natural.
    Piercings you basically have to accept that they may be ripped out and the company or family aren't responsible. I've had a piercing ripped through, zero sympathy. They don't deny them though so long as they're tasteful.
    Hair color, go wild. Kids love it. I've had blue, red, purple and silver hair. I'm natural now but still.

    Social acceptance has a lot to do with how we feel about things. How you feel about yourself is partially determined by how society views you. I have a feeling there’s going to be a lot of regret when it comes to freckle tattoos once they are no longer trendy. But when it comes to things like tattoos where you have people telling you you’re making a mistake and you’ll regret it even before you get the tattoo it’s hard to admit when you actually do grow to regret it. You don’t want to prove those people right when you were so sure at the time that they were wrong. So idk how many people we’ll see actually coming out and admitting they regret it but i’m sure there will be some. I personally have a bit of tattoo regret myself although mine are on my back. I just wish that I had waited until I was a bit older to get tattood. It’s easy for me to brush off that regret because my tattoos aren’t as visible as face tats. But there’s always makeup. 🤷‍♀️

    Lots of cosmetic tattooers use ‘tattoo ink’. I exclusively use them for lip tattoos (Eternal Ink, World Famous, etc). It’s the same as using a carbon based/organic ‘cosmetic pigment.’ Not all cosmetic inks are iron oxide based as the one article you read suggests. It’s mostly about the technique.
    Also, I wish everyone in this industry would stop saying cosmetic tattoos will fade. We really cannot guarantee that. It depends on SO many factors.

    I’ve been in the industry for 8 years, I know a couple of different tattooers who did their own rainbow freckles as well as natural looking ones. They have to top them up every couple years because of how quickly they do fade. Obviously all skin is different, but many lighter pigments do face quickly when no black or hard outlines are put in place to keep them there. They also used regular tattoo pigments as opposed to cosmetic.

I think this would just be better to do with makeup but I feel the same about getting PMU...I would get sick of it looking the same eventually since I like to change my make-up style every year or so otherwise it starts to look dated to me.

    Rainbow freckle tattoos sound really cute and fun to me, no hate to anyone getting them. And...I was going to argue about the placement, especially the kind I saw on the "pink freckles" client, but...the review of a different client included saying that she was directly involved in mapping out the freckles, size, etc. And other clients presumably requesting constellation designs...kind of suggests that this was an informed decision. So I think that is a client choice, not an artist choice. So only gripe left is not informing her clients that she is using permanent tattoo ink and not cosmetic ink.

Nowadays people expect to cover themselves in neon fine line ink and it’ll be beautiful forever because some filtered Instagram pic convinced them it would. It’s all up to the individual and I think people are free to waste their time and money on silly, poorly done, or poor taste tattoos, but it’s also entirely valid to point out things that are typically a bad idea even if some teenager on tik tok is like “no but I love them!!!!” Like no offense but I don’t listen to anyone under the age of 27 AT LEAST anymore, because I’ve seen so many mistakes happen before that
