    I love this city. When I visited in 2001, I toured the Reichstag dome. The city was in a building renaissance and those flashy buildings of the Government quarter were still but a dream. Interesting that it’s all built on the old Diplomatic Quarter and on the proposed sites where the ‘Germania’ Volkshalle and Leader’s Palace were slated to go.
    Can’t wait to get back there next year to see the city again and the opening of the Humboldt Forum. Looks fantastic.

      no democracy inside germany

    • @supre107
      @supre107 Před 3 lety +4

      @@lagrippemuerte3852 Why do you think there is no democracy in Germany? There is much more democracy in Germany than in most other industrialized countries. If it is not even the only country where citizens can still say what they feel most and get the opportunity to assert their opinions. (Except for nanocountries or Switzerland)
      I don't like to make comparisons, but unlike Germany and the USA, in one country the party plays a role in the election of court members or judges. In Germany this does not play a role. Democracy or a constitutional state also means that there are independent courts that cannot be influenced by capital. Which cannot be influenced by big companies or politicians... Without making big accusations now.
      Examples? There have already been relatively frequent convictions of high-ranking politicians. There have also been many convictions of larger companies. Among them, for example, the Volkswagen emissions scandal or the Wirecard scandal. Where no, no foreign courts condemned Volkswagen, but the largest German court was the Federal Supreme Court, which acts independently.
      Besides, there is also an important right, namely the right of petition, which is not operated by external authorities, but by the Federal Government itself. Anyone, no matter who, no matter how many, can publish a petition there. It may exist in other countries, but certainly not in any non-democratic country.
      Have you ever looked at the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany? You should do that. Articles 1 to 19 and article 20 should be enough. By the way, compliance with the "constitution" or the Basic Law is controlled by a special court. The Federal Constitutional Court.
      No democracy? Due to disproportionate measures against the Corona pandemic, the Federal Constitutional Court has repealed laws passed by the Federal Government.
      Now this was a relatively long text, but since I felt like it, I just wrote it down.
      (By the way, I didn't write this to convince you or change your mind. I just listed some little things. You can keep your opinion as you like, but then I ask you to bring me some arguments and not just say 'That's just the way it is.' (Just for example.))

O novo Reichstagg não tem, interiormente, nada a ver com o prédio antigo, ficou muito feio a cúpula de vidro inclusive. Se tivessem feito uma restauração com sutis modificações para adaptar às necessidades atuais teria ficado bonito, do jeito que fizeram foi uma descaracterização medonha de um prédio histórico.
