    I'm from Russia and wanted to add something. You forgot to say that in Russia the "N" word is not offensive like it is in the USA. Therefore, if a Russian said this word, it is unnecessary to hysteria because of this word (he did not want to offend you). This is due to the fact that there has never been slavery in Russia, and since the time of Peter the Great, rich African families have lived in Russia and held high positions in the government. I'm not sure, but probably Peter the Great wanted to show the countries where the slave trade was legalized that in Russia everyone is equal regardless of race (probably in those years this was very shocking to diplomats from Western countries). For example, the famous Russian writer Pushkin is the grandson of a man from Ethiopia, whom Peter the Great saved from Turkish slavery. There is also a theory that Dumas is Pushkin, who was sent to France as a spy who was supposed to increase Russia's influence on the French through the translation of Russian works (there are many strange coincidences, for example, after Pushkin's death, Dumas wanted to adopt Pushkin's children through an acquaintance of the Russian prince). As for the fact that people look at Africans because of the color of their skin, I disagree a little here. The fact is that Africans usually dress not in European style, but in the style of an African or American, for a Russian such clothes are unfamiliar and he is shocked by clothes, he does not understand why people dress like that. For example, a girl’s sweater is not typical for a Russian, according to Russians, a sweater should save from the cold, and this girl has an open shoulder in a sweater. As for children, children look with admiration at anything, even at an ant on the ground (I think any children are like that).

      Hello. Welcome. We are very glad to people who come to our country. I would like to suggest a few things. Russians may seem rude to black people, but it's out of curiosity, in our small towns black people are very rare. Russians will never treat you like a bad person, but sometimes they will joke about the color of the skin of blacks or the shape of the eyes of Asians. But this is a feature of the Russian mentality, we joke about ourselves too. Orthodox culture does not have racism, as in Western countries. Remember another life hack in Russia. If you smile at a Russian person, he will always help you.

    are there laundry shops there, or do the hostels/apartments come with washing machines

    • @JoyceBusola
      @JoyceBusola  Před 2 lety +1

      The students can decide to contribute and get their own washing machine in their blocks/ flats in hostels where washing machines are allowed. The others have a laundry room where you pay for a session with the washing machine. Around 120-150 rub per wash. That’s approximately 1.5-2$.

    yes, we do stare, but we mean no harm - it's just unusual to see foreigners from african continent in our country. and it's not really skin color that surprises us, cause indians can be fairly dark as well(several other asian ethnics as well) and it doesn't surprise us because it's common enough for us to see them as well as any asian ethnics. afrians are becoming more common now, so we generally react less and less. I myself resently stared because I, for the first time saw how a taupe compliments darker skin, and couldn't help but stare.

    My critique of this upload rests with the damaging effects of - in this example 'African' - women giving an over-generalized perspective based upon a female's consciousness; for example, migrating to another country with the hope that others will provide sustenance. Again,that is a female's consciousness,not a male's consciousness. When assessing the Nigerian's social arrangements, it's affluent population shuns their responsibility to strengthen Nigeria by settling in other countries while their countryfolk lives in a squalored disarrayment. I think it is long overdue that Nigerian males step up their game in becoming men versus slinking behind the grass skirts of their females. These CZcams video uploads bearing the theme "does this race or ethnicity likes 'Africans' or "African-Americans" serves no purpose but the further emasculation of the Equatorial African males by means of stealth. My conclusive message to the 'Africans' and Diaspora...unless you're an Equatorial 'African' and Diaspora female, get rid of the female's approach to solving issues and accept responsibility AND accountability.

    A couple of advices if you allow me.
    Process your voice audio track in the video editing program that you are using by making sure, that it's gain is as close to 0.00dB as possible without going over it. You can either 'normalize' the audio track somewhere in it's options or add 'compression' to it and tweak the options so that it will make silent parts louder. I've found background music in this video being too loud - it would've been okay if your voice had more gain or was compressed, but still you may want to make sure, that background music is barely audible: it is there for the mood and not to interfere with your voice after all. I had to really listen it because of both the music and your accent. Sorry, I'm obviously more used to american and british - nigerian is a whole new thing for me; I could still understand you, I just had to make an effort. And it is generally not a greatest thing to say about a talking video. I hope, that I did not offend you and that these unwanted advices it will aid you in making your content even better. Stellar edits btw. Best regards. I'm sure you have a great future ahead of you.
