Hey Jake and Brad, This is Austin from the Cruz story. I just wanted to add an addendum to the memo for some bonus stories for anyone that is interested. The wild interactions me and every single other person on campus had with Tony were many, and I really had to hone in on just a couple. Here are a couple other stories that happened during the year. 1. Tony loved to make these disturbing drawings and hang them on the wall. They were these humanoid like creatures that had several hands and usually with more than 10 fingers on each hand. Really creepy looking. Made it hard to sleep at night with all of their eyes (because each one had about a dozen) staring down at me. I felt validated about just how creepy they were when I went to an art night on campus and Tony showed up. Tony started drawing his usual portrait while we’re all drawing buildings and landscapes and such. This super super nice Nigerian student was going around telling everyone how beautiful their art is. When he gets to Tony, he just looks at and shrieks and yells “AHHHH it’s the devil!!” 2. Speaking of things hung on the wall, let’s talk Tony’s photography. Tony loved to take self-portraits. A lot of these portraits were….. Interesting. They usually were him with an indeterminate amount of clothes on, though I suspect none, being obscured by different objects. The most prominent of these was a portrait of him sprawled in a bathtub, covered in books from class. At my school, everyone took the exact same classes and used the exact same books, so I cannot express how concerned I was that they were MY books that were covering his indecency. 3. Sophomore year, Tony was expelled for harassment. What he left in his room after he left was nothing short of what I expected. Again, the risqué self-portraits and the creepy drawings. The room also included several model skeletons that each had a unique wig. And finally there was a single notepad that stated his plans after he figured he might be expelled. The options were as follows: A. Fight being expelled B. Go back to Mexico and get a job C. Join the French Foreign Legion

It was well hidden, and my wife says I'm oblivious. 😂 I did not retaliate (missed opportunity), but my roommates did procede to steal the wheel and tire off of my car for 3 days. Quality fellas.
Listening to Jake talk about how unsanitary restaurant straw dispensers are is funny after recently listening to an older covid episode where he talks about dropping a straw straight on the restaurant floor and picking it back up and sticking it in his drink because he’s “pro immunity”
Go Rexburg, Idaho! My husband got in a car accident in Rexburg and the insurance guy put the town name as ‘Wrecksburg’. We still laugh about the irony of that spelling error when someone brings up Rexburg.
Nate Bargatze and his fellow podcast hosts did a “Krispy Kreme challenge” because he was just as confident as Brad and they all fell SO far short of their projected number of donuts (KRISPY KREME specifically) they thought they could eat. It was hilarious and sad all at once 😂😂
This episode was flat out amazing. Timon, excellent job with the Main Street roasters jingles! The last story took me out, I couldn't believe the frozen salmon was used in the fight. Wait, it's still good after the fight, so they used it for a special dinner. 😂😂
I almost always watch the pod on CZcams now and am impressed by fellow ghostie Samuel Senn and his dedication to commenting within the first few minutes. I actually come to the comment section looking for his comments now 😂 anyways, great episode guys!
I felt everyone going wait what and then googling how many oz in a cup…..lol Also the Krispie kreme debate was a thing on Nateland and they could NOT eat what they thought they could. It’s pretty funny.
Absolutely love YWAM! I did my DTS at the Tijuana, Mexico base. My outreach was in Indonesia. I did not think I would hear YWAM on this pod, especially in the worst roommate stories, but i totally get it. You get the most wild and interesting people coming through YWAM sometimes 😂
That’s awesome! I did my DTS at YWAM Orlando in 2018, and then did my outreach in the Dominican republic. One of the girls on staff at the YWAM base in the Dominican ended up transferring to the Tijuana base. What year were you there?
@abbykurtz5115 my school was September 2016 - February 2017. I have been going the base since I was 12 for the homes of hope builds. I still go there every year for a house build

Roommate stories were wild! I avoided my crazy roommate by God’s providence. Had moved in two weeks early to try out for the soccer team. Over the first weekend felt strongly that I should leave & get married. So I did, & my future roommate (who I never met) sent me the wildest email saying all these bad things about me since I had decided to leave. After she had been at college for a few weeks, she sent me another email trying to make me jealous, talking about how the new roommate was so cool & they’d been having so much fun partying together, etc. Glad I dodged that bullet!
