Such a beautiful song that captures the essence of true love, the ephemeral nature of life, the suffering and joy all in one, what it truly means to live and what to live for. And to top it off she took a basic I - ii- iii- IV progression and wove an ornate tapestry of sound which encapsulates life and love itself, distilling it from the ubiquitous materialism into a simple yet powerfully true meaning. I’m in awe, almost like hearing the song for the first time again. I can’t thank you enough Mrs. Keys, a true artist, she doesn’t just entertain, she moves you to deeply feel something very real, and that is as priceless as the “you” in this song.
I started playing piano just under a year ago as you were one of my most inspiration‘s to start this however I am 42 and I have had RP all my life which is a retinal disease I am now losing my vision and my instructor dropped me and I love losing everything I love to do because everything I love to do requires eyesight I still have some site remaining and I practice 6 to 7 hours a day however unfortunately there is no instructor that is willing to teach someone in my condition I wish I could see your hands however I am listening closely to what you were saying and applying everything I can to try to duplicate the beautiful, inspiring sound you put out. Thanks so much. At 71 it's difficult to learn new tricks and with a baritone voice I can't play an acoustic piano. It has to be a stage. The only way I can sing is to transpose to get anywhere near the range. This is one of my favourite songs. I digress a little. Thanks so much. At 71 it's difficult to learn new tricks and with a baritone voice I can't play an acoustic piano. It has to be a stage. The only way I can sing is to transpose to get anywhere near the range. This is one of my favourite songs.
