Hello, what is the difference between a bridge and a router? If I understand correctly, they both connect networks together?

All of them connect network but difference lies in how much smarter each device is. Switch works in Data/Network layer and sends data in Frames. It can connect devices to network. Router on the other hand works in Network Layer and sends data as packets. It is used to connect 2 different network like home network with ISP network.
