    Well, did you realise that as he smashed the TV, it got more and more colourful around them? They are also in "their circle", wile the mother and her child is sounded at another one. It is also more rough, than the circle at the TV. I was also thinking, that some people are easily feared with "little things", while others are surrounded by war and daily hunger and have somehow to keep on going too, while we sit somewhere at home, eating candy and crisps, maybe saying how terrible it is what happens there, but have not to experience any of it? I am an artist myself and was once involved in a project with refugees from Syria. I come from Austria and at school, we had refugees from ex-Yugoslavia (have to write it this way) and heard things already from themselves, which many of you do not even think of!
    But this is only my view and the great thing with Rammstein is, that they leave you are free mind. They are coming themselves from former GDR (east Germany) and know, what it means, to have a "free mind". By the way, the Lead-guitarist was once a refugee on his own, as he was fleeing from East to West. Here is the link: czcams.com/video/9uBdY9xDYl8/video.html There is so much more behind them and there is a reason, why I "fell in love" with them in 1997. I also have a different background, because one of my grandfathers came from the former USSR. By the way, have a look at this video: czcams.com/video/Rr8ljRgcJNM/video.html Thanks for your reaction.

    There were English subtitles!!
    On their music videos/singles from the newest album Zeit, released earlier this year there is the "CC" button, and it comes up saying something like "auto generated: German", but if you then go into the settings on the cog-wheel button, and select the subtitles from the menu, it gives an option to auto-translate and when you select that you get a drop-down menu so just scroll down to English, and Voila! Accurate real-time English lyrics on the official vids 👍 Although I do recommend you pause the video while you sort the captions out!
    I would strongly/highly recommend and request that you watch the Official Music Video - with captions as mentioned above - to the single "Zeit", from the album also called Zeit, if you haven't already. It is something you might find a bit different from the other Rammstein songs you might have heard, and perhaps might change your minds on certain things.

    I think you actually got the exact message of the song even though you do not speak German ;)
    Rammstein songs are usually provocative and designed to be interpretable in more than one way.
    "Angst" for example intentionally uses the word "schwarzer Mann" which literally translated means black man in German, but is used as "Boogeyman". So, if you wanted to you could interpret this song as sometwhat racist or xenophobic at first. But if you look at the video and "read between the lines" you understand that the actual message is "do not let yourself be manipulated by fear" and "don't turn against other people just because someone in power tells you that they are bad" (or something like that).
    Anyway, great reaction, keep it up :)

    That video and song is a proper social commentary on the state of affairs in the West: the social harmony eroded by the bogeyman controlling the thoughts, with the cheer leaders selling him, selling walls, selling guns, selling ANGST. It is similar to the meaning in English though the literal translation is FEAR.
    Only when the media spell is broken does the colour come through. I'm reminded of the film Pleasantville and it's own take on "coloreds"
    I see middle tRump America, I see boris johnson's England. It is a staggeringly accurate video of the world the likes of murdoch has sold us. Frightening!

    Hello everyone. I'm German and I've known rammstein for so long that I can't even remember when I heard them for the first time. But one thing is for sure, they treat the first topics in their own way and leave room for interpretation, like in this song angst. in which they sing about the black man and no that has nothing to do with the color of the skin, it's about the boogeyman and fear itself. We are so busy in our time looking at our fears and our surroundings (media, radio, etc.) fuel this fear, and in the end we are so scared that we arm ourselves and shoot ourselves because we know nothing but fear. So mega cool the song is so bitter it is, but at the same time honest and real. Don't live in fear folks.

    • @antediluvianer
      @antediluvianer Před rokem +3

      I would say I agree with you. HOWEVER isnt Till someone who always leaves dual or multiple meanings in his lyrics? What if he means the boogeyman and also the "black" man because just like here where i currently live in AMERICA, white conservatives teach like minded people to fear the "black" man like spread racism. Also there is a mother and a daughter in the video of a certain race portrayed as refugees from Africa surrounded by barbed wire and finally the band members are eating a delicacy called "Negerkussen" if Im not mistaken and why a treat with such a CONTROVERSIAL name ? Took me a while which is why my reply to your message comes days late, to understand that Rammstein is in one of their multi layered messaging in their songs has brought up the uncomfortable topic of "xenophobia" using the words of a children's play or something similar. Again Im basing my OPINIONS from what I see and have inquired and learned about because I had to find out what was the band members eating while stacked on their couch and I think its ok to realise that in the music video mad politician Till is using the tactic of sensationalism, as used by politicians and media everywhere, made the Bourgeoise citizens to be afraid of "migrants" and "refugees", made them build walls and buy guns and forced them into imploding as a society through the game of FEAR and as the song ends Mad politician TILL celebrating in a fog or smoke of RED mist really shows the uncomfortable truth in my opinion.
      Again 1 of MANY layers. Thank You

    hello, i'm that one specific fan of both rammstein and bts and I'm so here for those reactions 😂
    english is not my first language and i grew up on rock and metal songs in english and german, and those never had subtitles. i always used to look up the lyrics, even though sometimes it was challenging to find the right translations into my language, but somehow I always knew what the song was about, it never was an issue for me. and then, few years ago when I started to get into kpop, it was so nice because subtitles and translations were available everywhere, even at several languages, it was so easy like that. and almost every reaction channel I started to watch (western, american reactors specifically) used to say at least something about how it was a music on a language they could not understand, some would complain how it is difficult to read and listen and watch at the same time so they just not gonna do it, i was like bruh... i mean, i understand, I don't mean it as an offense to americans, it just was something that never came to my mind how you guys would always listen to songs you actually understood or how you would watch movies without voiceover or subtitles, i had cultural shock tbh 😂
    i really appreciate you guys trying out a lot of different genres and listening to songs on different languages, but even though kpop spoiled us with subtitles, finding lyrics and translation is still very easy, especially nowadays 😁 i hope you will do more rammstein reactions, because they are a legendary band, but just be ready that they never do official subtitles. I'm already used to you doing research beforehand in most of the reactions and that's what I love about this channel, so I hope you will look a bit deeper into understanding rammstein, too. they are one of very few bands who speak up on a lot of controversial topics, they would bring up things not many would talk about, and yes, most of their title tracks have very simple yet very catchy beats, it's a very recognisible style of theirs, but they have a lot of different stuff actually 😊 they are very artistic and always have deep meanings and lots of details.
    i hope you will react to their live perfomances too! they have crazy shows and their stage presence is unmatched. one of my dreams since i was a kid was to go on a ramsstein concert, and hopefully i'm going to go next month! i'm living for it! thank you so much for the reaction, and sorry for talking so much 😅

    So i might say this wrong here. I am german and i Love Rammstein music since i am 5 years old(says a lot bout my childhood:))
    Anyway there was a kidsgame back in my days that translated called“ who us scared of the black man?“ As a kid i never thought of it but later on, my friends and i thought bout it again and we always that the „black man“ was like a shadow and not a black person. But we never know for sure.
    In the total that i understand from the song its bout the fact that everybody is alo trying to protect himself and not thinking about others and that since some german are still racist, like i know to many and that makes me sad, it can also refrence to the fact that german are scared some new things or things/ people they dont know or nations.
    Thats my take on it. Rammstein is known to be extrem and talking bout rasist things in its own way and not a lot understand it. Thats also why Rammstein is sometimes called racist itself even if they are supporting so many diff. Charitys and more. I hope this i understandable to read for all😆

      @juma2619 Před rokem +3

      @@BeardsBoozeBandsBS je suis fan française de rammstein, je m’excuse par avance d’écrire dans ma langue, mais ma connaissance de l’anglais est trop limitée pour ce que j’ai à dire ^^
      mon humble avis : cette vidéo parle pour moi du rôle des médias, des politiques pour créer et insinuer la peur ( le fil rouge = fil conducteur) au peuple pour mieux le contrôler, rendant le monde manichéen (la couleur revient quand till casse la télé ) séparant les gens. la peur est irrationnelle, nourri du fanstasme de perdre ce qui nous appartient au point de finir par se détruire et détruire les liens sociaux… cette femme et sa petite fille sont en fait inoffensives et les deux monde ne fait que se regarder sans se comprendre ni se connaître, or on a toujours peur de l’inconnu.
      Schwarze Mann a un double sens :
      Historiquement c’est un jeu pour enfant en Allemagne mais qui se réfère à la peste noire du moyenne âge ( des parties du corps noircissent avant de mourir, donc rien de raciste) donc le jeu consiste à désigner un enfant comme un pestiféré auxquels les autres enfants ne doit pas se laisser attraper sinon eux même deviennent des pestiférés. Le sens de ce jeu a été perdu pour pas mal de gens, schwarze mann devenant juste une figure du mal , d’un croque-mitaine. Dans la chanson on peut aussi le prendre de manière littérale, l’homme noir représentant le demandeurs d’asiles ( exemple la vague d’immigrés africain ou du moyenne orient pour l’Europe, mais c’est valable dans beaucoup de pays), dont certains partis politiques d’extrême-droite agitent la peur de l’invasion etc. A la fin, ils mangent des gâteau au chocolat dont l’ancien nom utilisé le Nword et a été remplacé. C’est pour moi une manière de dire que nos sociétés sont hypocrites parce qu’elles s’offusquent d’un simple mot et pour se donner bonne conscience le change, quand elles regardent en même temps via les médias des gens souffrir mais les laissant à leur porte par peur d’être envahis, démontrant un véritable racisme et xénophobie .
      Rammstein ne sont pas raciste, ils sont à l’origine punk anarchiste et socialiste ayant grandit en RDA (l’URSS) avant la chute du mur de Berlin, mais ils aiment juste refléter comme un miroir déformant la société capitaliste qu’ils ont du apprendre à connaître et qu’ils observent.
      J’aime ce groupe, ils aiment la provocation et ils ne laissent jamais indiffèrent.
      Et cette chanson et son clip peuvent s’appliquer à pas mal de pays, l’utilisation de la peur comme moyen de contrôle ou de profit étant assez universel

    There are subtitles. You need to go into "settings" and select "automatically generated translation" (something like that) and choose the language. "Angst" means "fear" and it's about how the media and our politicians are instilling fear in the hearts of the people, how "normal" citizens get sucked into it and start building walls, getting surveillance, barb wire, guns as the fear grows (based on the childhood fear of the boogey man). In the last scene after the credits, when Till destroys the TV, colors are coming back (things are not black and white anymore, it's all much more nuanced in reality).

    but yeah the fact that a lot of people wont look into their lyrics and messages and (will) associate it with right wing stuff from Germany just gets me thinking like damn there are so many other bands and singers (rappers) just as good from Germany that could represent our country (if at least alongside them) ...anyways i liked the reaction cause it forces me to broaden my horizon and look into stuff i normally wouldn't, and it also gives me insights on what other people get from it which in turn makes it easier for me to relate or generally get more from this kind of music which is fun :)
