This was more exploration of our autonomic reaction / response than about _how_ to actually cope, or what response produces the best outcome. The default response in contemporary Western society to a serious betrayal is usually isolation / alienation and a vast, collective effort to pursue invulnerability. Brené Brown suggests that it isn't working--that as natural a reaction as it may be, it actually isn't a healthy response given the results in the long term. Instead, the pursuit of invulnerability appears to strongly contribute to us re-characterizing the uncertain as certain--another form of lying to ourselves and others, "I'm right; you're wrong. Shut up. That's it!"--choosing fear and blaming over discourse, and ultimately to us numbing reality itself, both the pain and the joy. This is how we eventually end up being "the most in-debt, obese, addicted, and medicated adult cohort in US history." Christianity and other Eastern religions have also rejected this approach for millennia.

So my take away is go back to basics, and try to adhere to a routine.
Did that, doing that. Time was my enemy but over time, it has slowly begun to be my friend again. Betrayal is evil and therefore I do not forgive it

Any advice dealing with the betrayal? What helped you move on?
