- čas přidán 26. 03. 2020
- In the fall of 2019, Brian and Drew traveled to Italy and during their trip, they were fortunate enough to travel to Bassano Del Grappa in Northern Italy, home of the Montegrappa headquarters. An amazing facility run by an inspiring leader in a stunningly beautiful town, the experience was truly unforgettable. The opportunity to hear the story and see the magic behind such a prolific brand was something we wanted to share with you, so we did our best to do just that. We hope you enjoy it!

Wonderful tour! So many beautiful pens and what a beautiful place to work!
Isn’t Italy beautiful? sigh... praying for the people. Thank you for sharing, Brian :) what a cool company, love the history
Got pleasure to visit the factory and was amazing tour and experience
Thanks for taking us along on your tour! Very nice.
Praying hard for all the Italian people right now!
Wow!~!! Fascinating!!!.
Beautiful!
wow!! Beautiful. Makes me want to run out an buy a Montegrappa pen- and probably will.
I picked one up myself while I was there (Ammiraglio). I appreciate it SO much more having seen what goes into them! -Brian
Drew, great narration. Only comment I have is this video is too short. Thanks for a look behind the scenes. I wish I could afford more Montegrappa.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just fascinating! The intricate details of the monalisa on that pen was breathtakingly amazing.. mesmerising!
Yeah, they really focus on a lot of details -Brian
Super cool and enjoyed this!
Thanks for posting. Awesome stuff. Please stay safe. 🇦🇺
Epico! Ok wow.... I had no idea Montegrappa was so innovative. This was great to see. And Drew’s voice over and drone footage is so silky smooth. Great video. 👍🏼
Same here, honestly. They make so many new pens each year, I had completely overlooked many of their pens. Now I can appreciate so much more -Brian
Well done! I really enjoyed this tour and your narration of it. So interesting!
Awesome! It was fascinating to see -Brian
Wow!
Beautiful
These tour videos always transform my perspective the next time I see their logo. I now want an Aurora. I now want a Montegrappa. To complete the Italian trifecta, is Visconti next (pandemic willing)?
Excellent Drew is a fine narrator.
Yeah he had a good voiceover voice! -Brian
I have one pen from the company. A flame-kissed Titanium model. Absolutely love it.
Nice!-Brian

Thanks, Brian. Got it from Goulet Pen.
Pretty badass!
10000% -Brian
Stunning. I've loved fountain pens since I was 5 yrs old. 72 years later, I love them no less! thanks for the visit. I'd love to go there myself. After winning the lottery. Big time.
Dear Brian, please confirm if you are OK and in good health. Since you visited ITALY at end of 2019, hope nothing wrong with your health.
100% healthy. We visited in early October, months before there was any concern at all. -Brian
Wow neat, I am glad to hear though that you didn't travel too recently lol
Yes, I’m glad we were able to go in Oct last year when we did. Praying for all of them in Italy. -Brian
Nice
holy fuck now I know why the pens are so expensive... they're definitely worth it. maybe one day... 😂 also a totally different tone to the lamy factory. both go through similar processes but the focus and atmosphere seem incredibly different
Quick question: How often can we reuse the same distilled water for cleaning fountain pens?
Kind of like what Moses said. What helps though is if you flush a bunch of times with some water to get most of the ink out, then do a final flush with new, clean water. It saves water that way and still gets it clean. -Brian
The Goulet Pen Company - Brain, Thanks for the advice! I used tap water to rinse out the ink
Then used my pen’s converter to suck in the distilled water and dump it in the sink so I don’t waste the distilled water. No build up in the pen at all.
I bought Montegrappa mosaico Roma from massdrop and it dries capped under 24h (with provided ink). I do not know how to fix it. My other cheaper fountain pens are far better behaving than this.
i have this problem with my Parker Urban. I put Pilot Namiki ink in it and it wrote every day after 3yrs of this problem, so maybe try Namiki ink? It's a fast flowing type. However...the actual problem was that the ink was visibly drying up in the converter at about 0.1ml a day :| So I stopped inking it
Wow! What a wonderful story and the pens... well, let's just say they are amazing. Someday I hope to visit the factory and to own one of these fine pens. Have you spoken to the factory, how are they doing with the COVIN outbreak. Wish them well.
I believe the factory is closed and they are all at home until the worst passes. Pretty much the same for all our Italian manufacturers right now. -Rachel
@@Gouletpens Thank You and remain safe, this too will pass
I will buy dragon pen soon
At 1:49 look at all of that gray stacked celluloid, mmmm baby! I'd love to be able to peruse all of their material.
Yeah, the celluloid room was like being in a candy store! -Brian
Beautiful ! thank you for sharing this, I may need one of these pens! Definitely not buying ANYTHING from China.
I’ll always love Aurora best. But I’m very fond of my handful of Montegrappa pens - and inks - as well. The Copper Mule and the Elmo are my favourites, though the Game of Thrones is very cool, too. I’d love to have more Montegrappa pens; it’s just that many of their other pens are rather too overly ostentatious and gaudy for my tastes. But their steel nibs are possibly the best in this business. I’d be over the moon to traipse around their factory and see where these beauties are born.
Both amazing companies, and they truly have their own flare to their designs. So much passion with the Italian manufacturers, so inspiring -Brian
The Goulet Pen Company ...Oh yes, very true. Both are flagship Italian pen brands and they are just differently fabulous. Like say, comparing Armani and Versace. An inexact analogy, I know, but you get the drift. I’m keen to buy at least one more Montegrappa and an Aurora pen this year. Can’t decide which ones to get. But I will. Your video tour here bumped me into wanting to buying a new gorgeous Grappa. Will you stock some of their splendid inks sometime?
