I'm not fond of the noise myself. I do have a wooden snake which I found at a thrift store - still noisy, but I prefer the wood clacking over plastic rattling. Just have to be careful not to get pinched when I'm playing with it.
Same here. When I saw it, I thought 'that looks cool'. Then when I heard it, my shoulder tried to smother my ear.
Nope - it "bugs" me too! I like wind chimes but some people can't stand the constant chiming. This sound all the time would drive me insane!

I wish they made stuff like this in wood or bamboo. I don’t like buying new plastics anymore and the colors will clash with my decor.
There are wooden “wiggle snakes”. Not _quite_ the same as these things, but great fun.

The best fidget toy I ever had which is probably not classed as fidget toy but a puzzle was the mega minx dodecahedron. But my son took it, lost it, bought a new one and won’t give me it. Now I want a teraminx but they’re £75. But it won’t fit in my hand the same as a mega minx

Yeah the sound makes it unusable when I’m with other people but I love it when I’m by myself! And it works on zoom calls when i can silence myself

Saw your video yesterday, knew I needed to have one. Today I saw a very similar model in a grocery store, so of course I bought one. At home I showed it to my girls and was instantly robbed. Don't think I'll get it back, the 7yo announced that she wants to have it in bed tonight and take it to school tomorrow. 😆
I wasn't sure about the noise before. I was very surprised how much more quiet it is in real life than in your video. Contrary to my worries, the sound is actually one of it's best features, not annoying at all. (And I am very easily annoyed by any type of sound.)

I have one, I use it in my car. Love it.
A similar toy that I love is Jacob's Ladder, hard to describe but it's like wooden pieces on a string that flips around itself down down down until the end. And tis clicky as well but like more mellow than the slug.

because every time i go to my therapist she has it there on the table waiting for me when we go in the cabin, when we are with the animals then i just play with them but when we are inside on rainy days i use the slug

There are some baby size or keyring size ones, I found them in toy stores in Spain. There were a lot of patterns including dark, glowing, glitter, cameo ... I can't remember the brand but I think they were american .

To me it comes across as maybe relating to your current level of sensory overwhelm and the state of your nervous system. If you are relatively relaxed and calm and have had a day with lower stress, maybe it might not bother you as much? Thoughts?
