  • The village of Xiamaguan in the poverty-stricken region of Ningxia is home to about 100 families. A majority of them have had their lives upturned by drug abuse. Many of the villagers here know at least one person involved in drug trafficking.
Drug smuggling became rampant in China in the 1980s, when many people saw it as an easy way out of poverty. Xiamaguan was one of the villages where people saw opportunities in drug trafficking.
We visited the village and met families who were torn apart by drug abuse.

Bob H. I agree it is so so very sad. The other day when I first saw another video about the Chinese addicts I started to pray for them. Until I saw these videos I was so unaware of how serious it is in Burma/Myanmar & mainland China. And the “China white “ heroin is unbelievably potent. 😢

Thank God for people like Peng who rise against the darkness whose pleasure is to devour our souls. After enjoying Clarissa’s wonderful series on China, this is a sobering reminder about the Evil One’s pernicious presence throughout the earth.

Surely it should be pointed out in the video that this is a Hui minority region. These kind of social issues are rampant in resource depleted minority regions in China.
