@5starwrestlingradio exactly! Unfortunately ppl don't know what real hip hop is! They think it's dancing and club music. Let me leave you with a quote from tha teacha krs one "rap is what you do, hip hop is what you live."
@Hydro2oo9 that is so fuckin true b i feel u there...i used to think that like when i first started listen to rap....then i started getting into montreal rap....and since it was all underground i realized talent is found in the strangest places man i tell you...i feel you on that...nowadays its all bout walkin right talkin right...but not fuckin rapin right u feel me
@MTLbigJ ye i feel ya man. back in the day hip hip/rap was sick whether it be mainstream or whether it be underground but this new breed of mainstream rappers are garbage aren't they. they all make songs now with pop singers n shit it never used to be like that. even eminem he used to be sick but his last album was awful. but there is some sick shit in the underground its raw. I like that shit in french on your favourites even if i can't understand much of it it sounds raw!
@5starwrestlingradio yeah well their are a "FEW" new upcoming dudes that will carry on tradition of actual hip hop like J. Cole, Fashawn, Blu and Mickey Factz. Their are others but i tried to find dudes that are the most consistent lyricially and musicially.
Times have changed. I'm 49 years old. I grew up listening to people like Isaac Hayes, The Jackson 5, and James Brown. Now we got people like Lil' Wayne and Soulja Boy. Both of them have new albums coming out this year. That's a beautiful thing to see young people have major success in life. Lil' Wayne and Soulja Boy are inspirations to a lot of young people and that's just beautiful. I'm proud of those young men.
that was the REALEST SOULJAH BOY SHIT OH I EVER HEARD, I think even soulja boy has to agree with everything METH SAID. and my nigga has real good speaking skills, still tryin to develop mine.
thank you method man. The truth is, even if we think he sucks, i would totally love to be in soulja boy's shoes. if you contribute art to the world, even if it is not as good, you are still contributing. If you have a problem with it, then promote others, don't put down any. "it is what it is."
haha thats wus upp method man is the shit str8 upp its a baddass feeling when u here one of the real ol skool rappers sayin that todays shit is garbage n its funny when nelly said ice t is old that it was like when the parents back then said rap was bad thats thats wuts happening today fuk that when the ones who started rap say that the shit is garbage u know its true they know wut rap sounds like n that it should have a message nt jst b fuckin catchy tunes thats fukin pop already
i will listen to new school if(and when) it will be superior to the old school and if it will have something good to say, and quality anyway, lets close the topic cause i dont like discussing serious shit in a youtube comment box tastes are different and everybody has the right to choose what they like peace man & take care
enough about soulja, the background track wats it called, it kinda rocks and wanna kno it, any kind folks wanna post the name of the song it comes from.
You should check out Jay Electronica, he has a sort of old school vibe to him and he has made several homages towards old school artists through his music. He also does some unique stuff like using movie soundtracks as a beat. I think he can become big someday if the music industry ever gets it's act together and people develop a decent taste in music.
@prettybrowneyes541 yah true man, thats not only hip pop but rock music too, i went bar last night and saw band there that would kill 99% of crap u see on mtv/radio and what not...underground is where its at now.
1st - put ur hands on ur chest ( boy or girl ) 2nd - think of someone you like .... 3rd - 2 marrow that person will ask u out or say they LOVE u 4th - the catch is u have 2 write this for 5 vidoes
method hit the nail on the head. theres no point in blaming other people for musics current state and pointing fingers. as a whole, the industry is responsible, but regardless, nothing is gonna change. we gotta just work to improve music instead of complaining about it. all read "heads" need to check out this video..
True Hip Hop: "I stay in tune with the stars sun and moon because behind bars your doomed if your mind can't consume plus spiritual pain can bring forth physical rain and without knowledge of self how else can a criminal change?"-AZ Sorry what ever you like cant compare to Hip Hop.
@Baiju900 Exactly. I don't understand your point though. You want the government to educate you on issues, when exactly what a government requires for self serving 'success' is ignorance? Why would they? Educate yourself on the issues, from multiple sources, and form your own opinion.
Agreed. It's not the fake-ass (c)rappers that are killing hip-hop. It's whoever's giving them deals!
