Ranger is my classic class, the first one I played in Pathfinder. Sorcerers I love for the flavor with the bloodlines, prefer them to Blood Rager, thinking of starting with an Undead Bloodline and go Lich Mythic Path. Magus is another of my favourites, love the Gish and Eldritch Scion is my favourite of them. Lastly would be the Alchemist, and more focused on the Bombs. I love using the Bombs and buffing up everybody with the right discovery, hardly ever use mutagens. Surprised how many we both have as favourites but as always love your videos and look forward to more WOTR content.

    I am a big fan of the deliverer slayer, which I think will mean I will love the Sanctified Slayer inquisitor. Paired with a couple of dips, you could have some truly disgusting builds with that class, as you will have tons of skill points, sneak attack, a pet if you want one from your domain selection, extra talents like a slayer, studied target which will help offset inquisitor's 3/4 BAB. I am guessing that even though you can't take 'advanced slayer talents', you could still take an advanced talent if you dipped rogue at the right level (which is how it worked for deliverer in Kingmaker), so you have a lot of options for some real power builds. Sanctified Slayer is going to be awesome :DDDDDD (And need I even add that you get solo teamwork feats, improved critical confirmation, Bane, which is arguably better than sneak attack, but while active would put your damage dice easily on par with a rogue... It will be a true gish).

    I fell in love with the Sword Saint aswell. Pure SS is just amazing. Both tanky and dishing out solid damage. Gets the most usefull spells like mirror image and blurr/displacement, always has a way to deal damage that an enemy is weak to (fire/cold/electricity and more). Just so great.
    I also started to enjoy Druid (more specifically Defender of the True World) after a while. It takes some time to get going, and in Kingmaker, with the Thunderclaw of the Bear God, it was really funky. Hope we get to see a similar weapon in WotR.
    Paladin is also on the list as well rounded support class.Not amazing in terms of damage, also not the tankiest, but all those immunities for free is always nice. And Mark of Justice....
    Swordlord funnily enough is on the list aswell. Multiclass hero so you can really dip into lots of great classes that give you many great things (Pala, Monk, Thug, and Aldori Defender on top of your Swordlord levels). Really flavorfull and almost no micromanagement at all. Get in there and whack stuff. Works great as a main for the persuasion checks.

      Can't force myself to play as SS though. Everything about this class and archetype, from the name to the pink/purple color theme of feats feels revolting to me for some reason. Idk why but It's like I'm inherently allergic to the magus class.

      @@JohnDoe-il4dz Well I for one can't stand the sorcerer. It's powerfull I know, but I just can't stand spontanious casters. I prefer the prepare my spells.
      Sword Saint is a little gimmicky but having automatic crit confirmation, adding crit multiplier, having your touch spells crit through your weapon with spellstrike and the best defence spells (mirror image, blur, displacement) along with some really good spells like sirroco, transformation, and the fact that you are considered a fighter with a -3 level for feat selection, add your class level to your AC up to your Int modifier...I mean it's just creamy.
      The Thundering Claw was so good on a druid since it works even if you shapeshift as a bear.

      @JohnDoe-il4dz Před 2 lety

      @@alexguigui8231 , o_O.
      I, on the contrary, prefer spontaneous casters, especially in pathfinder where Sorcs are completely and utterly superior to Wizards. Not only they can cast more spells per day, their flexibility is insane. Since most spells in the game are useless anyway (either because they're bugged/underpowered or simply because you don't focus on this school or you have another caster like cleric or bard with that spell), 4-5 best spells per tier is all that I need. And from this moment on, Sorc's ability to cast any of those in any combinations is extremely useful.
      And if that wasn't enough, heightened metamagic allows me to move spells between tiers on the fly, even in the middle of combat if I need to. Which allows me to cast any of my spells as long as there is at least 1 unspent use in any of the tiers above this spell's tier.
      Plus animal companion for sylvan sorc.
      Sylvan Sorc = one love xD.

    • @alexguigui8231
      @alexguigui8231 Před 2 lety

      @@JohnDoe-il4dz You get the same amount of baseline spells as a wizard (which is what I'm currently playing with Eldritch knight) if you go Thassilonian Specialist. Plus Arcane Bond that allows you to get another caster every day or a familiar (Lizard for +2 natural bonus to AC and Perception in my case). Now you can make the case that Charisma is mandatory for your main anyway and Sorc plays on charisma, so I get that. But since I go lich anyway and I'm focusing on Necromancy, I don't mind loosing versatility for a more focused build. And you get those metamagics anyway, though I prefer extended vs heightened since once you get to your max caster level you gain nothing in terms of damage. True you gain more spells by putting them on all levels but I think with abundant casting, greater abundant casting and improved abundant casting adding 4 more baseline spell slot, you got more then enough of spells. And that's not factoring all the good stuff you gain elsewhere. Again It depends on the build you go with. But I very much prefer a clean spell bar focused on the exacts spells I want rather than a messy ton of whatever. To each their own ^^

    • @JohnDoe-il4dz
      @JohnDoe-il4dz Před 2 lety

      @@alexguigui8231 , I only put the most frequently used spells on spellbar (I only use the bottom one, can't stand the left ones), for everything else i just use the book panel.
      And yeah, thanks for mentioning charisma, It was yet another reason why I love sorc xD. It also allows me to specialize him into intimidation so that he has something to do in case he runs out of spells (which is useful on low levels when he only has a handful).
      The guy is just perfect.:)
      As for heightened - it's not about damage (unless they changed it in WotR, haven't played it yet), it's about spell difficulty. I.e. Grease tier 8 is 7 points harder to resist than default Grease tier 1. It's extremely useful for control spells: grease, web, poison fog etc. it's my favourite metamagic, hands down. Extended is very tempting too but in P:K I usually skipped it and used rods.

I'm riding a buffed up tripping armored wolf(with mythic beast M.power for universal dr bypass!) My very good boi even tripped that first Lich you see two times :) Casting those sweet nature buffs on people ( aspect of raptor gives everyone +20feet speed lol Chaaarge !) And for myself of course I'm enhancing my AC reducing shortbow with buffs and then with my Judgement of smiting(mythic;endless) ! Bam ! Somehow I made a divine archer tank speed freak nature dps build who can do ranged AoOpportunities and I'm loving it in the mid game that I'm in ! Woof !

Due to character i play i would like some buffs or strong spells and healing, he is basicaly combination of Aragorn and Gandalf in my mind (Half Elf noble from ancient kings line of long lost kingdom).

  • @ShardtheWolf
    @ShardtheWolf Před 2 lety

    My favorite is a dex based scaled fist/eldritch trickster. Because neither class can wear armor, they both get defensive mechanics in Cha to AC, mage armor, shield, blur, maybe an AC bracer if you can get one better than mage armor, mirror image. You become a super tank. Throw in flurry of blows with sneak attacks, and your damage keeps up well. Get crane style and dodge arrows from monk, you're damn near immune to missile attacks. Evasion from either class, diamond soul (I think) gives spell resistance, and magic is less effective. Still deciding on a mythic path. Prob either azata, legend, or gold dragon.

    what class would be the best for a sorta death knight kinda lich? someone who could fight well in combat while still being able to cast the lich powers?... the main issue is that armor interferes with spellcasting in this game.. so I dont know how you could pull off a sorta hybrid fighter/spellcaster with the lich and still be viable with both.
    also... side note... but is there any way to get permanent regen/fast healing like the azata has while being a lich? I assume no... its just the azata with the fast healing was sooo OP that i cant imagine playing a character without it lol since spells have limited uses in this game.

    Kineticist is honestly one of the easiest and most op classes I have ever played. I always keep on in my party. Maximized Empowered Cloud and/or Deadly Earth Composite Blast will one shot massive groups of nearly any enemy except literal gods. Even The Lantern king could barely withstand 2 turns. Stack stealth and it is super easy to get the jump on nearly every encounter and obliterate everyone right off the bat or close too it. Plus they don't have any real limits like casters so you can do it every fight.

  • @ArcLightShock37
    @ArcLightShock37 Před 2 lety

    Do you play the pen and paper version of pathfinder at all? If you like the magus you should look up the 'Bladebound' archetype. You start with a self upgrading intelligent weapon with a set of powers of its own that you can actually converse with and it will have goals. It also has an ego score so it can try to control your actions if you try and deny it the chance to accomplish your goals. Luckily the rules are very specific that the weapon matches your alignment at ALL times so if you're playing your character right and don't do the whole 'I'm lawful good! Oh hey look a helpless merchant, let's off him and take all his stuff!' kind of thing the intelligence in your sword won't want anything that will go against your ethics, but that doesn't mean it will always be convenient. It's great roleplay and a lot of fun, provided you have a good GM of course.

  • @daniel.holbrook
    @daniel.holbrook Před 2 lety

    my favorites are Inquisitor, Ranger, Alchemist, Magus and Witch
    I like Rogue a lot but they're a little too 'vanilla' for me to consider a top five, and I should technically love Slayer but they sorta just feel like a tryhard hodgepodge of a bunch of classes without enough of a unique theme/identity or defining feature
    as far as favorite archetypes (in the sense of 'this caters to my preferences markedly more than the base class does') Archaeologist is pretty high for me, even if they're an objective downgrade. Bards are mechanically versatile, and I have a soft spot for jack-of-all-trades types. But while performances are great support buffs, 'I play music so good that it makes my friends better' is too silly for me to really want to play one (and I find a lot of the stereotypes regarding bards and those who roleplay them to be true). I don't thematically like charisma casters and I kinda wish archaeologists were INT based since... that'd make sense for an _archaeologist,_ but otherwise they fit into my desire to play 'buffer/disabler spellcaster who can also be stabby or shooty on the side' and I prefer spontaneous casting over prepping spells
    also, Sylvan Trickster because hexes are never not fun and it adds some flavor to rogue beyond the usual
