- Every now and then, a product comes along that resets the curve and redefines the expectations for performance. The pinnacle of performance is being shifted to a new apex with our new inverted front struts, co-developed with Falcon. Not content with the mediocre performance, lack of tunability, and hit or miss service life of existing options, we looked outside our space to the world of motorsports for inspiration on how to solve this complex problem. Our all new, inverted damper strut is designed exactly to our fitment and tuning specifications and produced from aerospace grade materials. Inverted dampers flip the idea of the conventional strut upside down, and use the damper body as the upper strut shaft, and housing the load bearing member in a massive lower housing that connects to the steering knuckle. The result is a truly phenomenal increase in damping performance, which translates to more stable and predictable handling, greater control across all conditions, and the ability to actually use the suspension to its full potential on and off road.
Inverted damper struts offer some significant advantages over traditional struts. First off, the load bearing parts of the strut are significantly increased. By using the damper body as the load bearing shaft of the strut, we are able to create a much more durable and rigid assembly. The internal bearing surface for the shaft is exponentially larger. Second, the damping piston is significantly larger and more effective. We can also combine our proven adjuster cartridge to finally offer an easily adjustable front strut option. Last but not least, because the damper body is inverted, the actual damping shaft and main seals of the shock are tucked safely inside the sealed lower strut body. This prevents contaminants from damaging the seals, and debris from damaging the shaft. This is the same application of technologies you will find on Dakar and World Rally Championship cars, which see some of the harshest conditions imaginable. The anodized aluminum lower strut housing is extremely durable, yet lightweight and corrosion resistant. The hard chrome plated strut shaft will withstand significant abuse, and a rubber dust shroud will keep the shaft and dust seal protected.
Our inverted struts retain the OEM range of alignment adjustments. Our proprietary 'Rate Cup' retains the OEM upper strut bushing for ease of installation and retention of OEM NVH characteristics. The Rate Cup preloads the bushing for tighter road feel, while dispersing the damping forces over the entire surface area of the bushing to prevent annoying clunks and premature bushing wear common with competing solutions. These struts are designed as a direct OEM replacement for any van, from stock passenger vans, to luxury coaches and Class C RV's, to heavily modified Adventure vans. They are compatible with stock vans, and vans equipped with our Striker lift kits.

We recently upgraded to your Falcon 3.3 Fast Adjust Inverted Rally Strut and Falcon 3.3 SP2 Fast Adjust Rear Shocks. The difference is huge between stock and the upgrade. We didn't think we would adjust the settings that often but we do it frequently depending on road conditions, wind, etc. We've been very pleased so far! They seem solid.
Can't wait to install these! Keep up the fantastic work Rob! Top class 👏 👌 👍
Can't wait to get a set of these to complement our OG VC Fox! This is truly the missing link! Great work Rob and Mark!
Dammmm that big van was cooking off road , keep up the good work
Boy that thing was COOOOOKING. These guys have taken it to the next level by manufacturing suspension for the sprinter rather than just bolting on truck hardware. You can see the momentum and movement of that van that it is loving this suspension. I thought the suspension on LTVL dude was good and I believe he also got the kit from Van Compass but that was 2 years ago.... I am frothing at the mouth I don't know how i am going to afford this
My 23 Sprinter AWD comes with a lot of stock crap. The first on the list was I had the falcon suspension system installed.
I’m very happy. Struts are next. 🤙🏼
Can’t wait to try these out!
You guy's released this just one week after I installed Koni Red S struts (which I actually really like a lot!) but dang....they don't match my other Falcon's. Oh well, eventually. Cheers guy's!
Thank you. We hope to earn your business in the future.
You have it already, stage 3 kit!!@@VanCompass
Congrats! Looking forward to getting a pair and having some fun with them! I’ve really been impressed with the 6.3 package I have on the van with some Bilstien B6’s, but it looks like these will take it up a notch or two in performance.
Looks great!!! Any chance your going to show the AWD Transit any love?
Sould this same design work for the Transit?
I wish we had these kind of product for Ford TRANSIT, in EUROPE ;)
Can’t see these on your site yet? I’m in the uk and have a 2WD 3.5 when will they be available and how much are they?
Now if we could only stuff Fords 6.7 H.O diesel engine in a Sprinter and have 500hp and 1200 lb ft torque would be amazing.
Actually one of the things I will miss when getting a sprinter. My current rig ( a lifted crew cab f350 on 37’s w/ a custom service bed and slide in pop up ) makes 650hp and 1200lbft is a beast and gets better mileage than the sprinter. The lack of storage and performance will hurt but definitely be a better daily. Guess I’ll save the 350 for the rough stuff.
How does this compare to the Evictus suspension? Does this work with a 2023 AWD DRW 3500
Also, do you have any additional shocks for the front of a 2WD ?
Just received the inverted struts but I need some instructions for install; your webpage says you have made some but I can't find any.
Please help.

Nice! And for sometime with fully stock suspension, would replacing the OEM struts for these have a noticeable effect on performance or do additional front shocks need to be installed too?
Just replacing the struts will give you the best bang for buck performance. Adding the secondary shock is the icing on the for peak performance.
There is a huge benefit over OEM with the strut in terms of compliance, control and capability.
@@VanCompass Wow, thanks for the quick reply! Changing the struts sounds like a great first step then (in what we all know will be an inevitable progression hehe). And for the rear, change the OEM shocks for Vancompass ones then?
@@travsformation1 Yep. Swap out the rear and address any spring rate needs if you have a heavy camper van.
@@VanCompassGreat! Yeah, leaf springs have already been replaced for something appropriate for the camper's weight. So I reckon front struts (the fact they're adjustable is AWESOME!) and rear 2.3 shocks is a good place to start right? (No lift in my case). Can't wait for these to come out! You guys will let us know right? 😁
Very cool. When do you expect they will be available to the consumer market?
In the next 1-2 months.
Very exciting. Will definitely be purchasing a pair. Appreciate you guys and the innovation that keeps coming from VanCompass!
Rough estimate on price point?
@@pelerojo4256 4x2 3.3 Fast Adjust = $1875/pair, 4x2 Mono tube = $1245/pair, 4x4/AWD 3.3 Fast Adjust= $1975/pair, 4x4/AWD Mono Tube = $1,325
@@VanCompassI just literally ordered a rear mini pack and sumo springs. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go with the adjustable shocks or not. Now that these are coming out, I’m glad I waited. I also like the fact you don’t need to install the additional mounts which would simplify the installation. Please do a video explaining the difference between the adjustable and mono tube versions. Thanks 🙏 EDIT: What rear shocks do you recommend?
Batten down the dishes I guess. We're going rallying in a van.
Will this add any lift?
Does this fit the T1N model ?
Will these be available as a pre-order?
Currently running the stage 3 kit with rear mini spring pack and the Bilstein B6. I am planning on ordering and installing the 2” Striker soon. This would be a great time to add these struts
Shoot us an email and we can put you on the waitlist.
Please shoot us an email to be put on our waitlist for the struts.
Will you be opening pre orders so we can get on a list?
Give us a call or email and we will get you on our list.
Does this mean we can run these instead of the aux shock?
Yes, but combined offers even more stability.
it's not there in yr catalogue on yr website, how much for a pair 2wd sprinter 2013
4x2 3.3 Fast Adjust = $1875/pair, 4x2 Mono tube = $1245/pair
mono tube isn't adjustable?
@@davidnjoroge8495 Our Mono tube strut does not have an adjuster or reservoir. We can internally adjust the valving if ever needed.
So the other falcon shocks you sell suck?
Umm no.
What ones do I buy then? compare them to the other ones and talk about configurations; geezs!@@VanCompass
Dude - these are struts, not the shocks. They compliment, not replace, the shocks. Why so angry?
You emotion gauge is broken! @@cnevle
@@geofffelsing1283Adding the Auxiliary front shock got us a ton of side to side sway control and stability. The Strut, being that it basically travels at a 1:1 ratio with the wheel gives us the ability to control small bumps and big bumps much better than the auxiliary shock with less effective motion ratio. The strut has the motion ratio advantage for performance. We have found the combination of both strut and auxiliary shock (our older offering) to work exceptionally well together to combat sway and add compliance over all sized bumps at high and low speeds. The strut bushing is soft and moves quite a bit. It need to move to control NHV since the strut is mounted in the van cab. This soft bushing equates to undamped suspension movement or head toss at slow speeds. The auxiliary shock can have firmer bushings since it is mounted outside of cab. The firmer bushings allow the shock to control the undamped movements of the strut bushing. This reduced head toss and gave us a better handling, more controlled van at low and high speed suspension movements. You want both a front strut and shock to add the best performance, but the strut make the larger impact if you were to choose one option.
Lol this van drives better than Mercedes X class ... this is ridiculous. this suspension turns the sprinter into a completely different class of vehicle.
Well we have designed by Ohlins suspension which is #1 suspension company on the market :) Unfortunatelly shocks are not the most important in this case. 4x4 system is so delicate that you will kill it very soon when driving as you guys do in the video :) You should get an Iglhaut or an Achleitner 4x4 in order to get the real performance. The stock Sprinter is just an AWD - good working one, but still aluminium transfer case, front axle and very thin shafts makes it vulnerable for damages and not really an Offroad beast :)
We were invited to the 4x4 producers plant in 2021 to learn more about this system and this video came to life :) czcams.com/video/6q9J0hA84CU/video.html
