I created a modified version of you idea while I finished watching your video. I just used different size page protectors, pretty shower curtain hooks and a rod. I already had all these on hand. :) Thanks for the idea.
We got the same snow storm you did! The kids went out to find eggs in the snow and they were frozen when they came in! Unfortunately out dog opened some of the eggs before the kids got to the LOL! I was just looking at those hooks ar papermart and wondering if I could find a use for them. I have my stencils in a big expandable file.

I feel like I have no idea what's going on since I don't have much time for youtube :(. I hope you are doing well. So happy for you and your new spot on Donna Downey's design team! I am totally buying some of those j tab things before I move...they're small, they'll fit. It's getting crazy and the husband is about to leave for about 6 weeks or so...so ya crazy. Hope that means I'll have more time to watch your videos!

I just love your videos! I find them so helpful and relaxing. I've been really poorly for the past few days and seeing that you had another video up cheered me up! I'm still super behind on my DLP! Got through week 10 but it was a real struggle from start to finish! Still not 100% happy with it, but started week 11 today and feeling much more confident!

Hey there i just upgraded my iPad to the Air 2 and was sure to get the 128 GB and got the iPhone 6plus (got the larger cause i only have 10% vision). But was sure to get the 32 gb on the phone. If i were you i would sell the 5s and get the one with more storage rather than a camera because that would mean something else to carry around. And the phones have such wonderful cameras and features just my opinion.

What a fabulous idea, just Love it! I am going to see if the J hook tags will organize my embossing folders too! I got permanent eyeliner tatooed on my upper and lower eyelash line several years ago and love it. Did my pale eyebrows too. Good investment as now I always have some makeup on.

Love that stencil idea. One day I'll have enough to do that! lol. As for your phone dilemma, i'd say your first mistake was getting an iphone lolll. I kid! Not that I'm against it, I used to own many versions, but one thing I didnt like was the lack of an option for an external card. If you go the route of getting another phone maybe also look into other phones that allow you to expand externally instead of having to be confined to a specific amount of space. Ya know? Just my random suggestion :) P.S. sidenote: This recording did look great and the sound was real good!

I've been trying to figure a way to store my stencils and this great! Now to find some hanging room in my craft room. lol I don't have an iphone, but do they take a micro sd card? You can get them alot cheaper than a new phone and they come in 16, 32, 64, and 128 gb. Just a thought since you love your phone. Thanks for the video.
Great storage idea for stencils. I have a ton of them. Trying to find a place to put a rod! Won't fit under my work table. I will find a space. I hope Amazon has those J hooks!

Anyway, I think that if it's easier for you, do the swap and get the iPhone with 32gb. You'd be shocked how much you can sell your 16gb on Kijiji. I sold my broken Galaxy s5 (I flat out said it couldn't make phone calls anymore) for $200!! :) bonne chance xoxo

CeeCee, I had just watched your studio tour video from the diningroom/livingroom set up and now I see you've moved back to the bedroom set up. Currently, I'm set up in a spare bedroom but considering moving my studio. I have a sunroom that I want to take over and turn into my studio because it's warmer and sunny. I wanted to know why you changed your mind on your studio location. I love your videos!
Gabrielle, thank you for watching the video. the decision to move back to my room came from the need to have better lighting and claiming my living room back. although i have floor to ceiling windows in the living room, there is a balcony above that blocks some of the natural light coming in. there was also a need for overhead lighting because of my videos but didn't have an outlet and since i have concrete ceilings, it would have been too costly to add. the small room was already equipped with a ceiling outlet and was originally intended for this purpose. and now i think it's cosier and i am happier.
but a sunroom though.... oh, my dream! best of luck with your reorg.
You could always come to California and we could create together to get away from the cold. Love the stencil storage.

Great idea cc & TFS. I would go w iPhone. Its multitasking 😊 good camera & apps but I'll get 128 rather than 64. Abit more expensive but a lot more storages for u to play w all those wonderful apps. Can't wait 2 see yr play date vdo 😊

I am no help at all with anything digital or computerized--LOL! I get hand-me-downs from my son and DIL--and am happy to have them (even if I don't always learn the full range of their capabilities and only know the very basics).

Hi CeeCee, I record with my iPhone as well. I had a 4s and it was a 32G and it was always running out of room. I now have a 5S with 64G and very rarely run out of room. (It's mostly because i forget to delete my old videos off of it.)
***** The iphone 5S is not sold in the 64gig format here in Canada :-(
Hi There! I love this idea! TFS! By the way, the eye thing happened to me. One time I was at a faculty meeting (I'm a teacher), and my eyes hurt so badly I couldn't even open them. I went to a dermatologist and they did patch testing on my back and determined that I was allergic to several ingredients found in make-up. Methyl Methacrylate which was used in lots of major dept. store brands. They printed out make-up companies that I CAN wear, as well as ones I can't. It was SO helpful! Maybe this would work for you... Hugs!
Great idea on storing those stencils. I don't have an iPhone and I'm not very tech savvy but would you be able to buy a memory card for your phone to save your videos and then free up space on your phone that way? Good luck. I hope you figure it out. -Bettina :)
I love the storage solution. I bought Whisper clips and used paper clips as the hooks but the clips have a hard time holding the larger stencils bc of the weight. I may switch to the J hooks since they seem sturdier.
You could look at Gazelle.com. They buy phones and other electronics and then buy another larger iPhone. The 6 and 6 plus are out. I have the 6 plus and I'm planning to use it to start videoing my art soon (I hope I do a good job)!
Love the CC/GG episodes, even the chatty ones. You two are so funny and awesome together. It's great that you have a friend close that you can "create and play" with. I can't wait to see the video.
Dena Cottrell Dena, the problem with the iphone 6 is that it won't play my playlist in my 2014 car! Even the iphone 5S is missing a few features. And I love that capabilities. I would have to physically plug in the phone into the usb jack which is a bit of a drag.

I'm new here... loving it! I just thought I'd share this with you... I have to throw my mascara out before I run out because.... my eyes get super dry and I start to not be able to hold my eyes open. I thought i was just getting very tired, but it turned out that my eyes are quite finicky on the eye products all of a sudden. I can't use most cleansers near my eyes - foundation can't get near the circles where my foundation does its most impressive work, and eyeliner pencils get a good heavy sharpening to get to fresh stuff. My eyes have become snobs or something. This may or may not apply to you, but i thought I'd share my weirdness with you... just in case...

I understand your dilemma b/c I am having the same problems! I had a real nice camera with zoom phocas and everything and it was a nice little camera but after a year or so it just quit on me and was not a cheap camera! My daughter had an old ipod i was using for photos only b/c it would not even stay charged! She helped me find a really nice 35mm camera on ebay and i got a great deal b/c i won a bid! The only thing is it's very big and heavy and i cant see what i am doing when i film myself with it! When she got her new phone she gave me her old one this year so i have been using it but like you there is very little storage! any time i take a photo or film with it i have to upload it off the phone to my laptop before i can do any more! Phones are too expensive for me so I may just be looking into seeing about getting me a small 35mm camera to use that i can film and take good photos with. I want something small like the phone so it will be easy to put in my hand bag and take places.
Great storage solution! My dreams were crazy for awhile.....I had to stop watching certain tv shows before bedtime and watch happy, non violent, PG rated shows.....CSI, Hawaii Five 0, and even Ironman and Avengers reruns, (which I love by the way....don't laugh), had to stop! At one point, someone suggested the type of food I was eating or snacking on in the evening! I changed the tv choices and the bad dreams stopped! I guess my mind was still looking for solutions to the crimes and I became the unfortunate victim! Lol And.....I stopped snacking in bed at night! Check with your doctor.... maybe he/she can offer more help! Hope this helps! Tfs Lisa

I'm not a big snacker at night either. I think it's just anxierty of being on my own and having to make sure there's enough money to pay the bills.

Okay I just finally got all my stencils into an album after watching your studio tour and now you go and find an even better solution for me. . . Lol! Seriously, it seems like a great idea and I like that it wouldn't be too costly for the J hooks. Would having a separate I phone to record on be any help? I have my old iPhone, and I barely used it, and I would be happy to send it to you for you to keep and use to record. Then you could keep your phone and your apps and just use this for that purpose. Let me know, you are welcome to it.

I purchased a Navig8r it costs 100 dollars Australian. It's like a gopro and takes decent video, good storage and its SMALL! The other way you can go is by getting a Nikon Coolpix, we have that and it costs less than 100 dollars and does beautiful video and is small. Thanks for the great idea!

I have a sony camera that I paid under $400 works fine... Maybe it's an option for you? I bought it at the sony store in the galeries d'anjou... Unfortunately, the sony store closed there... Just an idea! ;-)
For Donna's stencils, why not nibble out the inside of the J-hooks with a hole punch? It would slide easier. Your/her solution is a very good one for me. I am currently using the store display boxes that I pick up free for school notebooks, small folders, and cat food. They are normal tall 8" square boxes that have the front cut very short and sides angled up from front to back of the box. This way their product, and my stencils can be stored and flipped through while standing up on a shelf. I want to eliminate the shelf hogs (more like small pigs) and use your idea THANKS so much.

Hi Cee Cee, Love the idea for the stencils. I order stuff from Uline too. Might have to split an order with you one day. Hahaha. As far as your phone I too have a 16GB iphone 6 (though) my hubby insisted that was all I needed cause that's what the apple guy at Bell said! Well you and I know better. So anyways to help you out and save you mucho money,,,try what I learned. After shooting videos and taking pics upload everything to your computer and delete from the computer what's on your phone. I learned that deleting from the phone means the stuff still takes up storage space for 30 days or more. I know it's crazy. You have to make sure your iphone's memory is completely empty of videos and pics each time. The first time you do this go back and check the trash memory that's where you will find stuff that you thought was deleted but is actually still there and is slowing down and taking up storage. I am not a tech person so I may not be explaining this correctly, but it is what I found out. This way you will be able to shoot videos for more than 20 minutes.

have you thought about going to the Apple store to see about trading in your iphone for the upgrade to a 32GB - getting a rebate might help with the cost of the new iphone with more storage. Have fun with Gisele, looking forward to that video!!!

I'd buy the iphone with bigger storage. One less device to have. Plus the camera would get updated each time you upgrade your phone in the future! I bought an expensive camera that just sits because my phone is always handy!

I have a LG G3 phone that has the laser focus. I don't know what you have now though because this was taped over a year ago. What set up do you use to do the you tube videos at home?

CeeCee you do not say where you purchased your phone, I would go back to the retailer, explain your problem and see what they can do to help you. I recently purchased an iPhone 6 with only 16G's, and although my previous iPhone was a 4S that had the same size memory, it was not enough to hold all of my apps and music, the salesperson exchanged my phone for one with a larger capacity, when all my info was loaded I had used 21G just for the apps and my music. I did pay the additional cost for the extra memory.
Christa, I bought my phone the Apple store and they were only offering me 200$ for my almost brand new phone. They suggested I sell it on kijiji or find someone to buy it. And I left it at that. LOL If it were only a matter of paying the difference for extra memory, I would do it in a flash!
Great video on your new storage! That is such a simple idea and yet so fantastic! I hope you are able to get your phone/camera problems worked out. That is is always so upsetting when you aren't given enough information to get what you should for your needs. Especially when so much money is involved. I think it comes down to if you like being able to just carry around on thing and make a call or what not then be able to shoot a video. For the most part I am tech impaired, but I am learning and I have discovered that I truly love being able to shoot my CZcams videos on my phone and then just upload them from there. However going with the whole tech impaired confession, I don't know how to edit so what you see is what you get with me. lol.... I know I was no help, but sometimes it just helps to have someone say it out loud to. Good Luck. Hugs LisaG

CeeCee, If your 16gb was full w/ just apps, honey you really NEED to go all out and get the largest you can go. (I am not sure how large iphones go) I am an android girl, however, I NEVER in a million years thought I would need something w/ so much room. My husband said I would thank him later b/c I take a lot of photo and video (family stuff) My Galaxy S5 had an internal of 32gb and he added a 128 gb sd card. That is a total of 160gb. I was looking at my storage space yesterday b/c I was thinking about upgrading to the new Galaxy S6 edge that will be released on Friday. CeeCee, I only have 9.2gb of free space. It is almost full! (for the record, the S6 edge is maxed out at 128gb...no options for sd card or battery replacement.nor is it waterproof like my current S5.) :(
Valerie Martin I'm Apple all the way (with my other components) so I took the safest route and grabbed the iPhone. However, I've seen what a Samsung Galaxy can do and the quality of the camera is so much better. The iPhone does not allow to add an sd card unfortunately. Very restricting.

Hey CC...its ridiculous how much us Canadians have to pay for cell phones and on top of that, the monthly fees we pay for our phones are one of the most expensive in the world! Anyway, I feel for ya but why don't you try listing it on Kijiji just to see the feedback you get. You may lose $50-$100 for the phone but then you would have an idea where you stand and could make a decision. Good like my dear!
I guess I have a stencil fetish bc I have over 200 (not including the 2" binder full of brass stencils). I'm using a shoe caddy with the wire 'baskets' tuned over but they fall off all the time and it's not working. I need to find another place to hang them. I ordered J hooks and I'm going to sell one box of whisper clips and keep the other box for something else.
It's funny bc all my eye lashes have fallen out of both eyes so no eye makeup.
