A video on your own swing tempo would be lovely. I‘m so jealous whenever I see it. I looks so lacy and effortless and yet you hit it so far. Physics says there must be speed somewhere. But how the hell do you produce it without showing it? 🤷
Agree - tempo is everything and Pete’s swing tempo is awesome - when I play I try to replicate someone who I think has the greatest tempo ever - Freddy Couples - I fail but it stops me hitting at the ball and just let it happen I then play my best golf
In fact...Amazing to watch though.
Recently I started to do a little experimenting with my way of holding the golfclub and changing my wrist movement during the backswing and next to improved accuracy I also found a little more speed. Definitely a vital part of the swing to get a hold of :)
I've been working on my wrists. Trying to get a good grip on the shaft and generate speed with the wrist action.
thanks Pete, swing quest has helped me to drop 11 strokes this passed year.
Amazing 🤩 but you are the one hitting the shots. Congrats
I've been the strong grip/cupped wrist guy forever. In the last few weeks, I've finally changed to a neutral grip and a flat wrist. Should've done this years ago. Makes my life so much easier in the downswing.
Thanks Mark, Excellent yougot me from 4.20, handle slightly forward....won today Wednesday 38pts hcap 16, 64yrs. Just swung Easy an made Great contact. From Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
Absolutely. I also use wrist positions to control trajectory. They’re soooo important.
Been working on wrists, grip and backswing for the past few months. The take away and top of the backswing is SO important.
Good to see Pete using the Itobori's again!
Very helpful thanks.
Love the Dondonald hoodie, I loved the course too! Carry on! 😄
Seriously good video. Easy to understand; explained very clearly, with due emphasis on the key elements.
Amazing video this is currently my struggle. Thanks Peter!
Great simple instruction video Peter
But much needed
@@peterfinchgolf very much so,when you’re out on the course you often forget it’s a target game. I don’t know why that is,possibly there’s so many other things going through your mind!!
Just a fantastic video, Pete & Co! Makes so much sense, it should be "common sense." Lol.
Thanks Pete
Let's do some train track math / geometry.
If your feet are 1 yard from the ball and the target is 100 yards from the ball, there is a right triangle formed with the ball, the target, and your trail foot as the corners.
Make a, let's call it a square formed by your two feet and the ball. 3 ft from the ball. 3 ft between your feet (exaggeration). That would be the train track, right? Now draw a line from your trail foot to the target and where that line intersects the line of the square from your front foot towards the ball (90 degrees forward, not at the ball directly). That small triangle is exactly the same proportions as the large triangle formed by your trail foot, the target and the ball.
That small base piece from your lead foot to where the line from the trail foot towards the target intersects the square is: 0.36 inches. And that's on a 100 yard shot. If it's 200 yards presumably it is now only 0.18 inches.
So, you're telling me that I'm lined up wrong if my lead foot is 0.36 inches too far towards the ball but correct if I'm 0.36 inches back?
Can we stop with the train tracks?
Please check my math / geometry.
Great video Peter. I have the first checkpoint correct but I do cup my wrist when starting my downswing. It feels week and wobbly on top. What would you advice?
@swingquest My irons and wedges start straight then go left (6 and under). Does this mean my path is straight but my club face is closed? I worry if I open the face it will slice and find I like to close it slightly as I feel I get better compression.
Love it
Errr, Pete, pretty sure that person who took the lesson was you for your wafty fade…
How dare you, I draw the ball 😌
