I was a bull clown here in New Zealand for a couple of seasons in the mid-70's. Bruiser is like nothing I've ever seen (we were just starting to get Brahma crosses then), but he would be the most athletic bull I think I've ever seen. AND a VERY intelligent animal, full of new tricks every time he came out! And as someone else said, not a mean bone anywhere - all the clips I've seen of him, he never went after a downed rider (a bullfighters nightmare!). Anybody who managed to stick to him for 8 seconds really did something special!! Has he got any famous progeny??

@chris beerad I think he understands the game, part of what makes him such a rank bull. Bruiser always head for the chute once he's got his rider off, almost like he's got a very even temper and when the ride starts he's working on a strategy rather than just instinct.
Bruiser and Pearl going back and forth was awesome. They both deserved the title
It amazing how he is in a handstand and whipping his butt around so fast at the same time.
Even in the exit chute, he keeps bucking until the 8-second buzzer.

I just Replayed that a few times. You can tell it’s a conscious decision by Bruiser as well, most of the time he’ll push his front hooves further forward, but has he comes down over top Springfield you see him pull his hooves closer to his Center

Seems like he has been ridden more than Bodacious but just my opinion, Bruiser seems to be a much harder bull to ride??? What’s yalls thoughts?? Not sure I’ve ever seen one buck that hard with the backward jump and spin. Truly a bucking bull every rodeo bull rider dreams of getting on!
Bruiser might be more of a technical challenge but the way Bodacious threw his head back into the rider's face made him much more dangerous to ride.

Still can't top Bushwacker but pretty damn close. I can remember seeing Bushwacker out in Anaheim and right out the gate the contestant was thrown off and leg broke. Destroyer, Mickey Mouse and Roy a pretty good Bulls to. If I can remember Gene Simmons was even there. This was a few years ago. Actually you look and there is no animal abuse that I can see. Bruiser is one bull that is highly intelligent. He tries to find where the cowboy's weaknesses are and than uses that to his advantage. Bruiser also knows when they fall off and is careful to put his feet nowhere near the rider. Then he finds the door and heads back to his pad where he can get some nice snacks and relax. These bulls are treated like kings. Ok so some come down with injuries, but so do the riders. The bulls are then treated by a vet if they are needed to.
