Wow, thanks Dan for all of your hard work this video was really helpful! I unfortunately already scrubbed out of NAIC 1-2, but I didn't end up taking Registeel anyway. I agree that my weakest part of my gameplay is my team building so I'm just trying to figure out some of those intricacies. I especially like your point about saving that powdered snow on the Mantine because the zap Canon would knock it out anyway. I primarily play ML, but hopefully I can keep getting better at the fundamentals through GL. Thanks again for reviewing my submissions
It was not team building it was understanding how you team should work! He mentioned plenty of time DO NOT SAFE SWITCH ALTERI… you got lucky to some degree that your wins where against players that didn’t understand the matches! Many mistakes from both sides!

It baffles me that he swapped the Altaria into the Umbream when he had a Registeel..
Dan kind of already talked about it by saying how it WOULD work. But I wanted to say it explicitly:
If you run an ABA team you can't have a classic safeswap. That completely contradicts the strategy of an ABA team.
You're definitely the better battler out of you and me, but I'm not sure I agree with your analysis of the order of the team.
I believe an Altaria lead with Registeel SS would be better than the reverse.
If you have a bad matchup in the lead with Altaria, such as an ice or charmer, you could SS Regi and either take switch, or bait out a fighter/fire user.
Use Registeel to take the fire/fighter out or low, and then you can get your A-Slash on the ice/charmer, and Altaria on their third
I think Dan kept to the desired ABA format. You propose an ABB team. In that case, I’m pretty sure we all agree that Regi is the safe swap, not the a sandslash
Yes ABB would work as well but if you are going ABA, then you need to switch the order - that's what I was trying to explain
The team is okay as it is the problem is that he keeps switching Alteria when there was no reason for it! Drag the fighter out that’s what he need to do!
I disagree with your analysis of the team order. I'd argue if youre gonna run this team it has to be abb with regi safe swap and altaria lead. Draw out the sandslash answer with regi, punish with altaria, and save shields for sandslash sweep

A sandslash is actually fantastic to lead with and you can cover its weaknesses very easily
I think it’s clear that both steels go in the back on this team
@@bugsgunnie476 yeah for this team you could build it that way but leading regi makes the most sense so you can save the Altaria for coverage. It still needs adjusting

I was successful in using a mantine to take out a water gun lanturn. Water gun lanturn is awful. You can just keep spamming Ariel Ace and shielding thunderbolts. They have to choose to shield Ariel Ace on a lanturn or let it get taken out.
But then you’re down 2 shields. Water gun lantern isn’t bad at all
Yeah I changed to charge beam lanturn I hate water gun as well
Newer players are going to stop sending you submissions if you keep publicly roasting them in the titles for the sole purpose of clickbait. Like there's nothing wrong with constructive criticism and telling players what they need to improve on, but when you start farming their lack of skill for content and clicks you're just being a prick straight up.
