when he first started talking i was worried the case was going to be about him not getting enough to cover the advance, but then he continued about how he negotiated them up from $2800 to $20,000. like dang i need some friends like him, i sure wouldn't be trying to stiff him on money i owed!

Plaintiff did his homework and got a good head on his shoulders about how that insurance game works. To see he did all that on her behalf, getting her 14K without him taking a fee for his services and she cant pay him back 4K is just plain greed SMH.
It's beyond outrageous when you consider that she tried to take an initial offer of just over $2000 from the insurance agency. The plaintiff convinced her to turn it down, only for her to ultimately pretend like she already paid back the loan. No good deed goes unpunished. That poor man.

This is why I won't loan money to others. It's like pulling teeth to trying to get others to pay back what they owe. Usually make excuses or try to avoid you, then you have to go through the mess of filing a lawsuit for $ that person probably doesn't have to pay back anyway, which leads to more filing to get that $.

Many people in accidents will cook up injuries to get more money, but they forget there is the ER and doctor reports that always tells the real truth. And when you hire an attorney, you have to pay the bill, after you sign their contract for services.
You can bet money I'm definitely not suing my friend who went over & beyond to help me get wayyy more than I would have originally. Matter of fact I may throw him something extra for looking out... Now he probably never wanna help another "friend" smh Sir teach me your ways, I never knew u could do this with insurance companies.

Shoot I need that plaintiff. I got tboned by a city housing authority truck. I didn't even see it coming. I literally had my car spinning down the road. I jumped out because it was such a had hit and didn't want to he paralyzed so im touching mt legs and everything. I still didn't know yet who hit me bc no one else was in the middle of the road stopped. So I pulled into the business my car spun down to. 3x a week of physical therapy for 8 months. Missed work, ended up with terrible sciatica and lower back pain. I couldn't stand straight and I couldn't sit longer than 5 minutes at best. Took 2 years for a 6k settlement and the lawyer got 2k. Lawyer was doing my coworker a favor basically bc 2k for what he did for 2 years. Somehowwwwww the insurance the town truck had tried to say I was at fault bc he was was trying to cross traffic and I didn't stop. Um never saw that, no one was pulling out of anything I could see and it was 2pm and traffic. Thankfully that adjuster left and the next one came and accepted fault. I didn't feel like going to court bc even though the lawyer does the majority of the work it was almost useless. Come to find out the guy who hit me had been in a coma for 6 months and was a lil less than 3 months out of the coma before he started driving again. Needless to say he got fired a year later because he had almost 1 accident per 1 to 2 months. Uh ya, can't fathom how you're in a coma for 6 months and up and driving like there may not be a problem? He was nice but he had backed his truck up after hitting me. Totalled my car and got 2k for it which was useless because 2k for a car here is a down-payment lol.

OMG! People like this, who were probably not even hurt, are the reason why our insurance keeps going up and up and up. Notice how he states he's been through this a least once before? I've been driving way longer than these people and have been in accidents, and I never once got injured or pretended to be injured and got "settlement" money from an insurance company. Yet some people get "injured" every time they get in an accident, even if the car was barely injured.
Most people get screwed by a mechanic or a plumber and decide to learn take care of it themselves from then on. Taking care of your own insurance claims is another level.
What's that saying..no good deed goes unpunished. Seems like a genuine guy, hope he gets his money back.

2:14 Yep! I had multiple accidents, people texting on cell phones keep hitting me. Lawyers are like nuclear weapons, great for bluffing and show, but as soon as you use them they screw everything up. First I had a law firm, guy from his office wanted to accept an offer or 10K. I went on line a researched previous settlements with injuries the same as mine, and found judgements for 10 times that. Then I found out the person handling my case was an INTERN, not the lawyer, so I fired them I hired a lawyer not an intern. I negotiated $98,000.00 for that one. I negotiated 5 settlements myself. The last one for an accident from Oct 2020, they offered me 5K, I settled for 36K.
When ppl get to the lying that turn their face like they can’t hear. It’s a movement of deception.

Where’s the additional $5,050
It would seem like he kept it to repay himself the borrowed money. What am I missing? How does she still owe him?

He loaned her $4,200 before he filed the claim for her. That plus admin fees would be around $5K. He won $20K for her and kept $5K of the settlement as she already owed it him.
