  • Car started to jerk with cruise control after refueling on next days morning on the way to work.
    Now it is time to change the FUEL FILTER and to see if it would help!?

    Good that you keep everything clean when you work with the fuel system👍

      Yep... Can not be too clean when doing something with diesel injection or hydraulics.

    Thank you for taking the time to open up the filter and show us! I am going to change this filter on my V50 when the part arrives, mine was changed 5 years ago so I will change it, do you need to drain water from the filter housing regularly? Love your helpful videos, Subscribed ;-)

      Im no expert in these just sharing my thoughts! 😉 I quess this was more like shitty fuel from gas station one time event... But of course adding biofuel causes some kind of biologigal growth into the fuel also and Im having some problems of that in one tractor... Five years is quite long time fuel filter so it is good to do it now 😱 - Then you dont have to do it on the road! 😉😝

    Very good video and excellent that you have shown also how to bleed the filter! Just wondering what were the symptoms before you change it? Was the engine stopping suddenly`(stalling)?

    • @JuhaErkkila
      @JuhaErkkila  Před rokem +1

      Symptoms started after refueling car... When accelerating to freeway motor started to jerk and lost top part of the power range creating jerky drive with higher than 80kmh speeds... I drove still some 250 kilometers to get back to my carage to change this filter ... During this 250 drive the worst part of the problem kind of disappeared probably due that shit in the filter got somehow little dissolved or diesel made some passage through shit layer or something like that🤷
      I quess this PSA 1.6l diesel is a little bit picky on cleanliness of the fuel filter so needs to be driven with relatively clean filters only 😉

    Hi @JuhaErkkila, I may seem to have similar problem, hoping its filter for V50 summen 1.6D. Not sure I saw in the video if it wasnt necessary to prefill the fuel filter with diesel on the main container as well as purge prior to mounting? Or did you pump the fuel in after the mount? Great video:-). Thanks

      @JuhaErkkila  Před 2 lety

      Thanks Joe. Filter was completely dry when mounting and it is possible to fill it with that suction pump. Hoping that filter change solves Your issues too!!!

    Hi! Great video.
    I used this method and it started directly, however after sitting for a few days it seemed to have trapped some air inside the filter and it wouldn't start until some more pumping was done with the hand pump.
    Did you end up experiencing something similar?

    • @JuhaErkkila
      @JuhaErkkila  Před 11 měsíci +2

      Thanks for watching and commenting... No i havent had any problems afterwards. Once the filter did not seal properly but then this deairing did not work at all since it was suctioning directly air... had to reassemble filter then properly to make it function. But no other air problems encountered during 100k+ with this car.

      @@JuhaErkkila thank you. Do you happen to know which fuel line on the filter goes to where? I'm trying to see if I might have mixed up the lines and it's now running backwards. The one with the arrow should be the tank and the other return, or?

    • @JuhaErkkila
      @JuhaErkkila  Před 11 měsíci

      @@fjls69 Hello. Unfortunately I don't remember which one is the suction and return... I mix those lines almost every time when startin to deair the assembled filter (trying to suck from the return and no fuel comes to filter cartridge). From filters point of view fuel should come from the bottom to allow possible water collecting on the empty space in the bottom of filter. So in that sence those suction line should be connected to correct stud to provide filling... but like said I don't remember it and strucle with identifying those lines every time

      Moroo! Ja jos auto makso sen 6 tonnia inan päälle, niin ei tosta hirveesti enää pysty kulupuolta pienentään.
