I've been making my own veggie scrop stock for a couple of years now. The trick for getting it flavouful is to first let the water boil, then turn the stove temperature to LOW and just let it simmer for a few hours. How do you know when it's ready? It's ready when you like the taste. Having aromatics like onion (including the skins) and garlic helps bring out the rest of the flavours. Some people add seasoning, but I prefer to leave that out until I'm making the dish I'm using the stock in.

We have a great city wide compost program where I live. On garbage/recycling day, in your designated bins you put out all yard waste (leaves, branches etc) and food compost and the city composts it. Then once a year in the spring you can get a free yard of compost soil at the compost facility and then after that you can swing buy and buy more of it if you need.
I will look out for that cling film brand, though I don't use it much either. We also are able to recylcle cling wrap at a depot. I mostly use those little bowl shower cap like thingys.♻

hahah, yes that's exactly what the bowl lids are like - little shower caps! And that's awesome that your city has a compost program. I wish more places made it that easy!

I ran across one of your shorts and decided to check you out. I love your videos. You're hilarious. But also have a lot of good common sense tips. I also use much of the same things you do. Beeswax was a waste of dollars. 1. because they are simple and cheap to make, so why waste money. 2. because they should never go in the dish washer.... hot water and wax are a no go. Also heating wax does not kill bacteria unless it's over 200 degrees. Typical hot water tanks range from 120-140. Not hot enough to kill the bacteria. Besides.... heating wax defeats whatever purpose waxed rags are for. My common sense only kicked in after I spent money on it, of course. I re-use them for things other then food now. (the ones I already bought, because I don't like to waste anything)
Your video's are great, and you've made a subscriber out of me.

Ahh welcome new friend! There's a lot of things I wouldn't buy now that I'm several years into trying to live more sustainably, so don't beat yourself up about the beeswax wraps. Ya live and ya learn haha. Thank you for being here and tuning in :)

There was a refill show that opened up about an hour away from me and they unfortunately had to close. I hope another one opens soon because I loved it so much
